Aaron Ramsey is out for the rest of the Christmas period. Fulham, Hull and Stoke are rocked by goalkeeper injuries. Phil Jones suffers a knee injury for United. Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar are likely to remain sidelined for Villa. Dimitar Berbatov remains a doubt for the weekend, while Ravel Morrison is a concern for West Ham with a groin complaint:

Arsenal’s title bid has been dealt a blow with the news that Aaron Ramsey is expected to be out for a while with the thigh strain sustained at West Ham. Post-match, Arsene Wenger confirmed the injury will “certainly” keep the Welshman out for the remainder of the Christmas period. Meanwhile Jack Wilshere returns for the trip to Newcastle, following suspension.

Dimitar Berbatov remains a doubt for Fulham’s trip to Hull after missing the last two matches with a groin complaint. Rene Meulensteen will be without Maarten Stekelenburg, though, after he twisted his ankle on the last day of training before the Boxing Day win at Norwich – David Stockdale is set to deputise once more.

Asmir Begovic could be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a broken finger in training. The Bosnian missed Stoke’s defeat to Newcastle, with Mark Hughes revealing “It’s quite a bad break”. Thomas Sorensen is expected to deputise between the sticks, whilst the Potters will also be without Marc Wilson and Glenn Whelan, following their red cards against Newcastle.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed James Collins is “unlikely” to recover from the calf complaint that forced him off early during yesterday’s defeat to Arsenal, though the Hammers boss is a little more optimistic on Ravel Morrison. The youngster missed out against the Gunners with a groin complaint but his manager reckons it “isn’t too bad” ahead of a crucial clash with West Brom.

Manchester United have defensive concerns after Phil Jones missed the win over Hull with a knee injury. The former Blackburn man is expected to be sidelined for “a couple of weeks”, according to David Moyes, while Rafael is a doubt after coming off early against Hull with a groin problem.

Christian Benteke and Ron Viaar look set to miss out again for Villa with knee and calf injuries respectively. Paul Lambert is hopeful the Belgian could be available for New Year’s Day against Sunderland but is less optimistic on his skipper. Villa will welcome back Ashley Westwood though, after the midfielder served his suspension in the home loss to Palace.

Hull have injury concerns ahead of the Fulham game, after David Meyler and Allan McGregor were both withdrawn at half-time on Boxing day with knee injuries. The pair are set for x-rays and scans, with Steve Bruce unsure whether either will be available for Saturday. Alex Bruce is also a doubt after picking up a calf problem during the United game.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

      As much as I would love to see him in the Prem, I don't think that's the right job for him. Fergie always tells his former players to go somewhere with a solid chairman/owner so I hope he advises him in this case again. Would love if he went to WBA though.

    Searched Twitter for Koscielny news and found this:

    @GoonerUpdates: Wenger on Newcastle game & coping with Loic Remy threat: "We have Koscielny who can come back maybe, who is fresh".

    quick advice pls. thx

    Drop Ravel for a hit -4 ? if so, for whom...

    1--Keep ravel and risk playing Injured Clyne or from bench Ward (tough away mci) or nonfactor Colbak
    2--Hit -4 ravel > Sterling che
    3--hit -4 ravel > sisoko ARS
    4--hit -4 ravel > Fer MANU
    5--hit -4 ravel > Whits SUN

    Migs - Boruc
    Terry - *Baker - *Ward - (Clyne) - (Williams)
    Haz - Ramsey - Silva - Ravel - (Colbak)
    Suarez - *Rooney - Lukaku

    @Demi, Parm etc

    How do you think we'll line up tomorrow, I reckon there's an excellent chance Carrick starts (though he won't play 90). Probably irrelevant for Demi now since he does the team news, but still

    IMO

    DDG

    Smalling/Rafa, Evans, Vidic, Evra

    Januzaj, Cleverley, Carrick, Young

    Rooney, Welbeck

    Also possible that Giggs plays ahead of Clevetrley or Hernandez ahead of Young/Januzaj wuth Welbeck shifted wide (which would be unfair IMO)

    Wondered if I can get a few more thoughts about this?

    Worth a hit to bring in Sterling for Ravel to avoid Ravel or Ward coming on if Negredo and/or Silva do not feature. Sterling's price rise would mean I would not be able to do Lewis > Mannone next GW.

          hmm, then I'd say go for it

          for me being able to get 11 out is almost always worth a hit, RavMo MIGHT play, but IMO will start on the bench at best. Ward on could be a disaster

          but considered Ki instead of Sterling?

            Yep, had a look. Ki could be an option I suppose

            I would still be tempted by Sterling over him just on account on how dangerous Pool are looking. Didn't think they would play so well against City and Sterling could have had a couple.

            Useful for TV as well. I agree on Ravel. I doubt think he will play and Ward could be 0 at best

      I just dropped Ramsey for Eriksen. The guy is just full of talent. AVB was nuts not to him him and Sigurdson the Key of Spurs Midfield. I have the feeling Eriksen will be the Second Part of Season Ramsey.

    I've narrowed it down to a few options:

    Marshall; (Myhill);
    Terry, Coleman, Chester; (Chico), (Ward);
    Hazard, Walcott, Cabaye, Whittingham; (Bannan);
    Suarez, Rooney, Lukaku.

    Terry -> Baines (punt -ish)
    Terry -> Bardsley (plan for Silva the next week)
    Lukaku -> Dzeko (punt + early WC)
    or some other punt

    What do you reckon?

      a free kick led barkley to be described as in form a couple of days ago. free kicks have created yaya and bacuna bandwagons. 2 free kicks in one match from baines, despite only scoring 3 in the previous 4 seasons, created a baines is essential bandwagon.
