Morning guys! Small red arrow but holding on to my WC, got Aguero in before the weekend so I should be okay price wise. Still pondering my third striker spot as well, so another GW to think about it won't hurt either. I was thinking Bony but the injuries keep PILING on Swansea and their form is horrible, yet he's still scoring... Sturridge seems such a comfortable choice.

I'm same , I have Jrod but with an Ozil > Eriksen/Cabaye on the cards I can upgrade ,
I'm starting to think Ade is not going away Dogba and I'm leaning that way now ,
      What's this Cabaye news ?

So many options... I don't think Lukaku or Benteke will be bad choices either. Cabaye to PSG is rumored, not sure how much is in it but he has been playing excellent for a while now and he is French. It's not the craziest thing I've heard.

They actually said last summer that they want to bring some French stars back to Ligue 1 and Cabaye topped their list because Blanc really really wants him in his team. Therefore he shouldn't worry about game time at PSG either. They would probably just bench Verratti, who is a defensive liability anyway. With Matuidi and Motta, Cabaye would have the most attacking role in the midfield trio, playing in CL with Ibrahimovic, Cavani and Lucas. Seems appealing to me.

We need to work together to win this teapot h2h that Doos is running. You need to take care of Gaztown this week. There is enough heat up top as it is, no need for him to join us.

If one of us win we can share the prize. Do we get a tea cup as well? If not the winner takes the pot and 2nd place takes the lid?

          Deal?

I read this morning that PSG are willing to open talks with Roma's Miralem Pjanic. Such deal could include Pastore.
Cabaye is worried about his gametime if he moves to PSG during this transfer window.
Moreover, yesterday the president of Montpellier confirmed that Cabella will not me moving until june.
I am pretty confident Cabaye is staying and I have already done Ozil to Cabaye

Both bad indicators about this move.

      1. If they are shipping out Pastore, it would also mean that Blanc still wants one more midfielder, so that would keep Cabaye on their list. In any event, Cabaye and Pjanic are not that similar players, they do not replace one another.

      2. Nicollin said January 3rd, not yesterday, that Cabella moving in January is not foreseen and that at the moment there were no (serious) bids for him either. Yesterday, or I think actually day before that, it was Montpellier's manager who said that at least more money should be involved than what he has read the bid to be. Cabella's father, who is also his agent, said about the same time that Cabella is about to move to Newcastle and it will happen this January.

        1. IMO Cabaye and Pjanic are quite similar, both attacking midfielders in the center. Pjanic played in the hole at Lyon in the past. Pastore could be exchanged if Roma wants a direct replacement to Pjanic. Roma have brought Bastos on loan and also Nainggolan. Roma have now a lot of midfielders that is why the press is reporting that Roma could be open to discuss a move for Pjanic.

        2. Concerning Caballa, there is the link in L'Equipe about Nicollin's confirmation that the player will not leave this winter but there is an agreement for this summer

Have you not seen Cabaye playing? Although he was a playmaker by formation, he has made a career low on midfield, as a tireless ball winner who launches attacks with long passes. Pjanic is a weakling nearly unable to defend at all.

Cabaye is originally a defensive midfielder (that was his position at Lille) but he has been playing in the hole at Newcastle recently. He is doing great just behind Remy.
Of course Pjanic is not a defensive mid originally so if you compare Cabaye's current position at Newcastle and Pjanic, they have a similar role

He plays in the hole for Newcastle now, but has particularly in Newcastle played a defensive midfielder for all time bar the last few matches. He played in the hole already as a youngster, both for club and country, and scored nicely too.

Even when "defensive" in Lille, he played usually above Mavuba who was the really defensive midfielder, similarly to way he plays above Tioté in Newcastle.

Okay, no, there was actually nothing new from yesterday, so let's keep it here.

So, Nicollin has indeed confirmed that they have some kind of accord with Newcastle, but that accord does not imply Cabella moving before summer.

It's guessing game now, three options are given by the French press:

          1. Accord of principle for a transfer in Summer.

          2. Transfer with an immediate loan-back for the rest of the season.

          3. Despite Nicollin's obscure message, a simple transfer moving Cabella to Newcastle immediately anyway, because they need him already now.

Nicollin is known to talk a lot of shit, by the way. nobody really knows how this will turn in the end. Better to wait something better.

And finally, if Pastore is given in exchange for Pjanic, it still means that this deal does not replace the Cabaye deal. Blanc wants to double up every position. He stated that WITH Pastore he has currently 5 midfielders, and he wants 6. If Pastore goes and Pjanic joins, he'll still only have 5. So he would still want one midfielder, and the one that he wants is Cabaye.

Pjanic would indeed be a direct replacement for Pastore, those two are similar players.

I can see Mata leaving, but not sure United is the right move for him. They've got 3-4 good number 10s in Jan, Kags, Rooney, and so on. Just makes so little sense for them to strengthen there, unless they want to play him wide which is... meh 😀

Have posted some of the decisions already, but I feel you need to see the whole team to get the full picture. How should I finish this team?

    Boruc (K Davis)

    _______ Kosc (Collins/Rosenior/Mariappa)
    Hazard _______ Cabaye ______ (Noone)
    Aguero Suarez Sturridge

    a) Baines Lallana Eriksen
    b) Ivanovic A Johnson Silva
    c) Azpi Eriksen Silva - This is most balanced but I think Azpi will lose out to Cole soon

    Thanks!

Liking C. Absolutely no signs that Azpi is losing out to Cole, I'd say the completel opposite. He's playing excellent and has started 11 out of the last 12 games.

Ivanovic was out for a good period of that, which meant Azpi had to deputize

Another part of that period, Cole was showing poor form and a lack of effort, so as Mourinho likes to show if players don't perform they will get dropped he played Azpi left back

However considering we have loaned Bertrand and Mourinho has said Cole will get a new contract, I think Cole will get some starts to commit him to the club so he can tutor whoever we end up signing (probably in summer) to be our new long term left back

Azpi is playing well though, but I do forsee some rotation. It may be that Cole plays cup games but if Cole starts playing well I still feel he is the favoured left back in terms of ability

I've seen you're been struggling with multiple dilemmas from your posts.
I'd go C because I like Eriksen and the idea of a cheap chelsea defender. There'll hopefully be a similarly priced defender if/when that time comes..

Not sure I'd pick either one, but if you're playing him every week......... probably Jan, he seems about nailed now and is great value. Only worry is GW28 blank and people returning from injuries.

    Multiple dilemma's:

    Sturridge or Adebayor or JRod?

One of the first two, I prefer Lallana to Jrod.
Navas as he looks lively, Silva's attracting heavy tackles and Gerrard is playing deeper.
Azpi, arsenal's fixtures aren't as good in the medium term I feel.

        Thx. Then it would be

        Boruc, Mannone
        Distin, Chester, Gabbi, Kosc, Azpi
        Hazard, Navas, Lallana, Rams, Januzaj
        Studge, Suarez, Aguero

I still have Cabaye (bought him at 6.4). If he stays at Newcastle, I think I'd prefer him to Lallana.. Seems great value, but don't know where to put the extra cash then.

Now that you're here, let me pick your brain. I'm going Aguero and Suarez up top. Who do you like for a third striker? I feel there's so many potential ones, maybe one of the reasons I'm holding out on WC.

M-hmm. Tough. I'm liking Bony as a punt, but Swansea midfielders keep keeling over. Sturridge seems a safe choice, he's really been scoring non-stop for LFC when he's fit.

Small green - starting to look respectable again now after a nightmare first quarter, and through in the cup by 1 point thanks to Mirallas getting a 92nd minute yellow card.

Your advice would be much appreciated, this is a tough one:

Who do I take out for Aguero?

    A) Adebayor
    B) Sturridge
    C) Neither

I then have to find 3.8 for Ade or 2.3 for Sturridge from Ozil and Coleman. 2FT.

No, I'd probably get Azpi even if they were the same price. Cahill has competition in Luiz, Azpi seems to really have ousted Cole on the left.

he is in the top3 goal scoring defenders for the last few years Baines and Terry ahead of him. I think if he can nail his place then great option.

I've seen a handful of people considering him, but despite his recent 2 goals his performances have apparently still been pretty bad.

Could be an interesting option as the fixtures are certainly there.
