Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce two new Fantasy Premier League cup competitions which are set to take place over the season run-in. First of all, we roll out the ninth instalment of our open-to-all cup competition, sponsored by Paddy Power. This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, our very own Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch, Wild Rover and reigning champion, Tdubb05, in our hall of fame.

We’ve also opened entry for the fourth instalment of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup, as Acquafresca looks to defend his title. Fuzzy Dunlop and Kippax Kikkers were our other previous winners of this tournament.

If you’re familiar with our competitions you can get your entries in right now via the links below. If you’re new to all this, read on for an FAQ on the competitions.

Enter the Paddy Power IX Cup via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup IV via this entry form.

How do the cup competitions work?

Our cup competitions are very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying rounds for both cups will take place in Gameweek 27 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday February 24 will be entered into the qualifying rounds. In the Paddy Power XI cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1016 (plus eight previous winners who will earn a bye, if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 27 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 28. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions. The same rules apply in the Members Cup, although we will restrict this to 512 teams in the first round.

How do I enter?

You can enter the Paddy Power IX Cup via the entry form here.
Members can also enter the Members Cup IV via this entry form.

In both cases you will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming.

You can check that you are entered the Paddy Power IX Cup via this list and this list for the Members Cup.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying rounds of both cups will be published on or around Tuesday February 25 and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

These Cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule

Paddy Power Cup XI Round Dates

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 27
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 28
  • Gameweek 29 Skipped Due to Potential Blanks

FFS Members Cup Round Dates

  • Gameweek 29 Skipped Due to Potential Blanks
  • Round 2 – 256 teams – Gameweek 30
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 31
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 32

  • Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 35
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 36
  • Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 37

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round of both cups will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Prizes will be announced in a follow up article next week.

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter (although it is for the Members Cup) – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What are the FPL rules if a match is abandoned?
Are all points from that game reset to 0?

I thought that abandoned games were usually replayed/rescheduled. But I'm not sure of the FA rules on this.
If so, the game would be replayed in another GW.

Totally off-topic, but if anyone could help it would be much appreciated

If I bough something through my Irish VAT registered company in the UK and paid the UK VAT rate is there any way I can claim it back at this stage?

    Cheers

Perhaps our players are more concerned about winning things rather than playing in a "special" atmosphere.

                Oh yeah, well...

                we've got more history!!!!
In all seriousness, Chelsea is a special club, always was, it just has too many plastic fans these days and too many mercenary players playing for their paycheque and not the badge.

Fair enough. Although with success always comes new "plastic" fans. The hardcore are the ones that matter, the ones who go to the games and pay their hard earned money to support the club.

I am actually really happy with our squad now (other than up front of course). If I look back we had more mercenaries playing for us back in the 90s when we were signing all the old guys up. there will always be a mercenary element, at all clubs.

For example I watched QPR the other night and was staggered to see their squad, that is a bunch of mercenaries right there!

Aw stop, it's important to breed an element of loyalty in a squad, bring in some youngsters. Whenever I think of hardcore fan I think of that pirate who supports the Gunners.

I agree, I wish we could bring youngsters through in our squad, they have to be good enough though. Often I question why we bother having a youth squad.

I'm also an Arsenal supporter , but taking Liverpool to win league is very ambitious judging on that game. Wish you luck , but don't think Pool have the squad to go all the way. If they stay injury free sure an outside chance that's why you got 12/1

If Chelsea and Man City draw in the FA cup, there are no free midweeks slots for a replay. So they will both miss GW29 as I expect the replay will have to be played on round 6 day causing fixture chaos.:)

in fairness it is incredibly windy, I reckon it's bad for CS if the games go ahead. The ball will get carried all over the show. If you are playing Hart, Mannone, Howard or Speroni you could get lucky.
