Fantasy managers can finally begin to plan in preparation as the season’s six outstanding fixtures were rescheduled by the Premier League earlier today.
Arsenal’s home game with West Ham, initially pencilled in for Saturday April 12 but postponed due to the Gunners’ FA Cup commitments, has been shifted to Tuesday April 15 – thus keeping the fixture within its original Gameweek 34.
There are, however, five double Gameweeks to get our heads around:
Double Gameweek 34 for Everton, Palace, City and Sunderland
Everton’s home game with Palace and City’s Etihad showdown against Sunderland are now set to take place on Wednesday April 16. Both matches were postponed due to the adverse weather conditions earlier in the winter – Everton travel to Sunderland prior to their Goodison match against the Eagles, City make their way to Anfield beforehand, whilst Palace are also at home to Villa.
Double Gameweek 37 for City, Villa, Sunderland, West Brom, Hull and United
United’s home game against Hull, which has also been cancelled as a result of the Tigers’ progress to the last four of the FA Cup, has been moved to Tuesday May 6. This means both clubs have a blank Gameweek 34 but they will instead offer us a double Gameweek 37. Hull also travel to Villa that week, whilst United now have three home fixtures (NOR, SUN &HUL) over Gameweeks 36-37.
Sunderland now have seven fixtures in the final five Gameweeks after their home clash against West Brom was rearranged for Wednesday May 7. Whilst their Gameweek 33-35 schedule is far from appetising (tot, EVI & mci, che), they now have a trio of home fixtures (CAR, mun & WBA, SWA) which could ultimately decide their top-flight fate.
The Baggies have home games with West Ham and Stoke on either side of their double, which also sees them travel to the Emirates before rolling up to Wearside.
City’s home clash against Villa is also set to take place on Wednesday May 7. Like Sunderland, Manuel Pellegrini’s charges play seven time in the last five and a look at that run suggests they will earn significant investment – essentially, from Gameweek 34 onwards, their schedule reads (liv & SUN, WBA, cpl, eve & AVL, WHM). As mentioned above, Villa play host to Hull before travelling to the Etihad but with a trip to Spurs on the final day of the season, many will be looking elsewhere for investment.
Our Season Ticker has now been updated to reflect the new changes in schedules.
