In our weekly attempt to get the better of Paddy, we turn to three of the current top six ahead of favourable games against a trio of relegation candidates. Once again, we look to the Scout Picks for inspiration and place our faith in a couple of in-form midfielders and City’s fit-again talisman as Manuel Pellegrini’s side attempt to recover from their disappointing home draw with Sunderland.

We get underway at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime, where Tottenham entertain London neighbours Fulham. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Christian Eriksen to score and Spurs to register a clean sheet. Given that the Dane has scored four times in as many matches, there’s every chance he’ll get amongst the goals against Felix Magath’s brittle backline – Spurs have been a little suspect at the back in recent matches but we’re happy to hand Paddy £3 of our kitty.

Next up, we target Liverpool’s trip to Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon as the visitors look for an eleventh successive victory. Paddy are offering 9/2 on Steven Gerrard to score and the Merseysiders to keep out their opponents. The Reds skipper has netted five times in his last four away games in a run that has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side deliver a couple of shut-outs and, with Norwich failing to score in each of their last three, we make this our favoured bet of the week and stick £4 on it.

Our final £3 is kept for Monday’s crucial clash at the Etihad. Having taken a single point from two matches in the previous Gameweek, City’s home game with West Brom is a must-win for Manuel Pellegrini’s charges. Paddy are willing to offer 9/2 on Sergio Aguero to score twice and City to keep out the Baggies. The Argentine has notched nine times in 10 home appearances this term and with City expected to attack from the first whistle to get their title bid back on track, we’re willing to part with our final £3 for this one.

Would you play any CHE defender next week? CHE @LIV

I have Ivan and Azpi and not planning to ditch any of them.

Given that my other 3 are Coleman, Distin (@SOT) and Ward(vs MCI), tempted to take a hit this week
to do Distin to Demi. And start Demi instead of Ward.

I've got a dead bench with Bentaleb, Bruce and Olsson

    A) Olsson to Koscielny
    B) Bentaleb to Salah
    C) Silva to Mata. If I do it this GW, I'll have just enough to get Rooney next

Starting 11 includes Silva at the moment, but also has Lukaku, Mirallas and Coleman

I think I'd agree even though that's against the FFS consensus.

Ramsey as you say has something tangible to play for and better fixtures but comes with perhaps a very small risk of being 'managed' back from the injury with an hour maybe at Hull.

Spurs on the other hand appear to have been liberated by not having anything to play for! Eriksen's form is great but watching him regularly he often seems to drift out of games for a while.

I'd say both are great options and you'd have to be a mystic to be certain who will score more points in the next 4 GWs.

What do we have to go on if we don't look at previous performances? Like it or not, trends in football exist. It's why we are all lumping on Suarez to continue his streak against Norwich. These things happen on football.

Lukaku is a big game player. The higher defence line kept by the more attacking teams suit his game.

If you want Rooney, you should really go with him cos you'll regret not doing it more than doing it and not seeing him perform. If he does blank, you can always comfort yourself with the fact that you have another DGW player in place for GW37

I missed the Palace match but I thought he was unlucky not to score against Sunderland. Did you see what he did against Arsenal the week before that?

Is it not worth taking a hit for some United coverage. The DGW is around the corner.
