The Dugout Discussion kicks into gear for five more fixtures of our penultimate gameweek. unfortunately today’s television broadcasts are aimed in the direction of the only two games with “nothing left to play for” (don’t blame them too much, they have to make these commitments months in advance).

Later today Arsenal will have their final home game of another barren season versus Aston Villa for our viewing pleasure. Elsewhere in the four o’clock kick-offs Liverpool and Spurs will jostle for fifth place and a spot in the Europa league, West Ham travel to Wigan needing a victory for any faint hope of survival this year. That may not even be enough, if Birmingham can get just a point at home to Fulham at the same time then The Hammers are Championship bound.

But first we’ve got Chelsea playing host to Newcastle in a dead rubber fixture. Ancelotti keeps his word and Torres starts (alongside Nicolas Anelka and Yossi Benayoun) with Josh McEachran, Alex and Ramires also coming in. Alan Pardew keeps to his word and rests Cheikh Tiote for the remainder of the season to avoid a record 15 yellow cards and 3 game ban. Line-ups in full are…

    Anyone know what the biggest minus score ever was??? I see Evatt got -5 at the start of the season, is that the worst??

      it seems to be the worst this year, there were worst scores last year though, Gary Caldwell ot -6 in the last gameweek when Wigan lost 0:8 and he got sent off in the first half

    44 ahead at the top of my mini-league, with yaya to play.Rival finished for the week.

    I love how the guy with the highest score of the week is about to rocket past someone with the same surname in one of his leagues.

    You just know that's his brother who was probably giving it large about his 50 point lead and is now sitting there with his mouth open staring at his monitor, unable to compute what has just happened!

    The Chelsea result has really screwed my mini league chances..

    Was hoping for a 3-0... Loaded my team with 2 chelsea defenders and I give fatty the armband... Got 17 points but was hoping for 30+

        No chance. They only have a 25 man squad for Prem, they physically can't rest everyone plus they'd get dry bummed by the FA if they did.

      Not sure Berba will play. SAF may want to rest entire CL squad. He needs Berba if Rooney or Chicha gets injured during CL game. CL is far more important than winning final game.

    Man did i pick wrong this week. Still annoyed i chose Bent-->Suarez, over Dempsey->N'Zog.

      That's a bad one mate. Not on your scale, but I did a 4 point hit to do Modric > Kuyt but did do Downing > N'Zogbia.

      Two other gripes: bottled out out on the N'Zog (c) and benched VDV. Silva to get 6 points or more on Tuesday?

          Spurs at home to Birmingham is the type of game they have struggled in this season so I wouldn't be overly shocked if the Brum get a "result". Saying that I just shipped out Modric - I might have to get him back in.

        Barton will come off my bench of VDV doesn't play. The transfers I'm going to do are Drogba and Odem > Berbs and Tevez for a 4 point hit. Am clinging to an 6 t lead in my mini-league, and I know my rival will get Tevez for Rooney and captain him.

          It constantly amazes me what gets moderated and what doesn't ...

          Can't see the confidence in Tevez, though ... Why exactly would he want to play hard? Halfway out the door, FA trophy in his pocket already. I think he's a bigger risk than Berbs.

        Very weird. They're doing the lap of honour with the trophy, and there's baskets of peppers all along the pitch and they're just launching them into the crowd. I've absolutely no idea why.

    Think o'hara is a solid choice.

    Tevez looka tempting though. Have Defoe but maybe having Tevez is the way to go.

    You know what the modern managers are like. Fatigue will surely play a part after the cup final and think Mancini will try to pick 2 teams that are capable of winning both remaining games.

    My team is in absolute shambles ahead of the final gw, and I need to gain 14p to win my mini league! I've got VdV, Odemwingie and Zamora who are all doubts, I've got Fabregas who is confirmed out and I've got Smalling and Kolarov who could get rotated!
    What should I do? Take hits? only do one transfer and gamble on getting 11 starters? Please help....

    guys this season so far have 2090 pts which puts me on 4880 with one gw remaining last season the winner of my mini lge managed 2130 pts which saw him finish in 158 769

    does this mean it was a better yr last season scoring pts wise and therefore a poor year this year?
