Community Submissions Area – Now Live

The new Community Submissions section is now live. You can get to this section to view any published articles and to submit an article, via the Community tab in the menu bar. You will also notice a new Articles tab in the previously named Comments widget in your sidebar. The most recently published community submissions will be listed here.

In case you missed our previous update on this, this new section allows any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published on the site in the new Community section. Some articles may also be promoted to the homepage listing and sit alongside our regular articles.

As we mentioned last week, in many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. The community can now interact with us and fellow community members by posting comments, Hot Topics and now fully fledged articles.

It’s now over to you to help shape this community section. While we’ve suggested categories for article submissions in the form, you have the freedom to submit articles on any given area of Fantasy Football. Player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any free community tournaments you’re running will all be considered and possibly published in this section.

Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

We are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports or, at this stage, perhaps a review of the season from their club’s perspective. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be our eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

We’d like to think that there are several potential writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years. We will re-launch the section prior to next season when the community welcomes some new faces but, this soft launch is an opportunity for our current community to get involved, prior to the World Cup and pre-season.

If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on initial squad targets for the next, then pen your article and post it to us via the submissions area.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Think Hazard will start then?

Thinking of holding Ramsey and hoping for an appearance (not too unreasonable I don't think).

Sturridge (c) is the last desperate measure for a differential, but Suarez is the best choice for sure.

Stuck at the bottom of prev page, so here it is again...

Can someone shed some light on the rules here. Here is where I'm at:
    - My ML is a head to head
    - The matches are still displaying last week's (37) scores and it still shows that it is semi-final
    - Also I have drawn with my rival this week (93 a piece)

    2 questions:
    1. When will the Final matchups will be shows
    2. What happens if 2 teams drew in the semis?

      Playing only for OR?

If Kun is out, I'd ditch for Dzeko/Lukaku/Sturridge. Other weak links is Mata Ramsey/Wickham, depending on formation. Not sure either one is worth a hit if you're going for OR... Wicky is in good form and I think Mata's chances of starting are decent.

Hazard is the main man this GW IMO. Eriksen maybe, but Hazard has more upside.

Remember, those hits are costly. Mata could do well this GW, for instance.

    Jones - out
    Evra - 75% should start
    Azpi - 75% should start
    Mata - 75% should start
Ramsey - 25% may get 20 min sub
    Hazzard - 75% should start
    Rooney - 25% I think he's out.
    Aguero - 50% could start / 20 min sub

The only player I see clinching a game is Kalas. He could replace anybody in defense except Azp, he's not going to sit on the bench for two weeks running, can't see it.

All in all, I think we'll go with the default defense of Azp JT Cahill Iva.

Ramsey seems to be a huge issue Ryan , more so than Mata it seems - the problem is if you own both (like me ) and your 5th is weak / dead , and on top of it most have the Chester / Jones / Evra issues - it all could leave you struggling to put out 11 ,
And that's before we look at our sick strike forces !

I'm in a similar boat (AJ on the bench, own Mata and Ramsey). The difficulty here is I also have Aguero and Rooney who are injured, can't really afford to spend 8pts+ on the last GW of the season.

Ramsey is fit, for that reason he is a good chance of a start. Wenger hasn't made any indication about massive rotation or Ramsey missing out.

Not sure why that's bad for Wickham/AJ/Vergini owners.

3-4 changes, two of them are Larsson and Cattermole out. So likely just one more out, for a player who has to get to play his part in the season.

Bardsley has already played his part, there is virtually no forward at all who wouldn't have played before Wickham, and AJ may be saved just by the fact that there are already two changes in midfield.

It may be Mannone who is the doubt, Ustari to take his place, and Bridcutt and Giaccherrini in for Cattermole and Larsson.

Larsson has been playing central midfielder, has he not? Giacch isn't really suited to that, I think he'll replace AJ, not sure who would replace Larsson but I'm sure they can come up with one central midfielder for the last game.

Well, the right central midfielder recently, but he really is a right midfielder/winger. Giaccherini has played right midfield this season too. As has johnson. If they continue 4-3-3, it can be just johnson and Giacherini on right, instead of Johnson and Larsson. Don't know which one of Giaccherini and AJ would play higher up.

Neither one of Giacch or AJ are suited to play central midfielder, I think they'll look for another replacement for Larsson really. If he needs one. Agh.. tough to call what'll happen.

I just came up with this probably a bit crazy idea that the young El-Hadji Ba could get his first PL game on last GW. he would be a straight swap with Larsson, more or less, and has not played except in that Cup match in which he scored.

Altidore for Wickham as the article mentions, Bardsley for Vergini which Poyet said he was going to do on the radio according to AB's link. AJ for Giaccherini considering that's been the like-for-like substitution made in recent weeks, plus AJ's form has been poor.

But he's only doing 3-4 changes, and already has to drop Larsson and Cattermole. Leaves only 1-2 doubtful. If he wants to win, as he should, he's not going to bring in Altidore, and about AJ: if Giacccherrini already comes in for Larsson and Bridcutt for Cattermole, who would replace AJ?

Where does it say 3/4. Is that the no. you've just made up to suit your argument? I'm just putting it out there, that the article casts doubts over certain players. People can then speculate themselves which players will be safe, and which aren't. Yes Larsson/Cattermole are injury doubts, but not completely out. Would expect maybe Bridcutt to come in for Cattermole.

AJ has been off the boil, so Giaccherini/Socco would be in contention if Larsson's injured too.

so, actually 2-4 changes. Note the part "we're not going to d o anything crazy". He is not going to change half the XI.

Okay, missed that. Fair enough, so we both agree Giacherrini's one that deserves to play?

As above, would guess Bridcutt for Cattermole if he's out. I really am doubting AJ's gametime, but could be wrong. Giaccherini for him, with somebody else for Larsson, unless Larsson recovers.

Another likely change, Bardsley for Vergini. Agree with your Altidore comments, but still not 100% sure Poyet will start him.

Next time, please, more polite. It's one thing to ask where he says so, and another to blame me making it up, and before that blame you should at least check it.

Anyway, it is the journalist who lists Altidore and fellows, isn't it. What we know, is that Cattermole is sure out and Larsson is likely out. I take it too that Giaccherrini and Bridcutt must play. And if Bardsley will, I doubt why, then Vergini is the third victim. But this still doesn't concern the most owned ones, Mannone, AJ and Wickham.

But okay, let's suppose it is AJ's who is replaced by Giaccherini. who comes in for Larsson. I have an idea for this, actually. There's that young talent El-Hadji Ba on bench, who was not mentioned in the article, but also has not played at all while he has been sitting on bench and he would be a straight swap with Larsson, a creative central midfielder. Could he give Ba his first PL match? That would probably mean AJ would be dropped for Giaccherini then.

Apologies. Yeah, i agree, and am struggling to think of many replacements. But regarding Wickham, it says he's also been playing with a knock in recent weeks and suggests he'll be rested. Can't see Poyet playing both Wickham and Altidore together. If it's Giaccherini who makes way for Larsson as you suggest, then could it not be Socco for one of Borini/AJ on the flanks?

Bardsley because well, he had been playing every single game under Poyet, until his suspension, then Vergini took his chance and Poyet didn't want to change a winning formula whils't they were still battling to stay up.

                      Apologies accepted.

Back to business, it is true that Wickham is doubt for that knock, but will Poyet appreciate Altidore's drunk tweeting? Scocco could also perhaps replace Wickham upfront? He may end up playing.

But I'd still draw comfort in that Larsson and Cattermole are likeliest out and after that there is not going to be many changes. It doesn't help me much, personally, I only have Wickham, so to me 3 changes can be enough to ruin my a lot of my differential, which also hurts because I have virtually no bench.

Idea for ScoutCast Team next year

    The Differentials

They can't bring players in with an ownership of 5% or more. That's it. No other rules.

If the ownership goes over 5% after they bring them in, that's fine.

The only tricky part is the GW1 team, so for the initial team they are not allowed to bring in players with 5% ownership at the end of this season. They will just need to make a note of these at the end of this season. This means that, at the start of the season, they are able to get any players who are new to FPL.

I think it is possible to see the current percentage ownership right from the start.

Didn't Applebonkers used to have a team called The Orphanage with a restriction that all players must have an ownership of less than 5 or 10%? It might just have been a blog team though, with multiple changes allowed each week.

And earlier this season Wakey used to post teams of players currently valued at less than their starting price. There is a danger though that many such players have lost value because they are no longer playing regularly.

How about a Stars Barred team (no players costing more than 9.9m when purchased)?

Or perhaps Mark and Granville could run a pair of competing themed teams, e.g. Reds v Blues, East v West, or A-M v N-Z.

Get more differentials. Rooney to Sturridge/Lukaku/Adebayor maybe even. (c) someone other than Suarez.

      Going to play the following:

      Mannone
      Coleman / Zabaleta / Ward
      Mata / Eriksen / Yaya(C) / *****
      Suarez / ***** / Dzeko

Two spots up for grabs. Rooney's definitely gone, but wondering whether to sell Ramsey too or just play Colback.

I'd want to captain someone he doesn't own, 30 points is quite a way to go, so check if he's bringing in Yaya.

I'd probably play Ramsey with Colback first sub. Pocket the 4 points.

yaya and dzeko are big differentials. rooney to sturridge and you've got a decent shot imo

Thanks guys. Looks like Rooney for the chop and Yaya(C) for sure.

30 points is nothing over the course of the season. So frustrating!

I wouldn't count Ward vs Dann as much of a differential (unless he doesn't play Dann)?

Plus he'll probably block you by doing Aguero to Dzeko (if Aguero out, maybe even if he isn't).

You need a Yaya fest I think, or a couple of transfers to get a few more differentials.

Absolutely terrible week last week has shaken things up from a 30 pt lead in my ML to a 2 point deficit. I have all the injury suspects - aguero, Rooney etc.

I am considering the dullard aguero -> dzeko, Rooney -> Sturridge.

Only problem is that my rival already has dzeko, and I would be spending 4 points to get him in.

We have Yaya, Mata, Suarez, Ramsey, Azpi in common.
Do I cover potentially huge dzeko points or gamble on him blanking?

i'd probably go dzeko tbh... :?. I'd be more comfortable in him than punting on ade or lukaku or someone.

what other differentials do you have from him?

think i'd go dzeko and use other differentials plus captain to beat him

I have: De Gea, Demi, Colback, Amalfitano + (Rooney and Aguero)

He has: Manonne, Coleman, Sterling, Pennant (yea I know lol) + (dzeko and adebayor)

Who I transfer out those 2 for is crucial.

get dzeko + sturridge and leave it at that imo. too small of a gap to risk dzeko killing you.

let sturridge hopefully win you your ML as I think he's a key differential

your -2 deficit is too little to gamble on Dzeko blanking.
I'd say he is almost certain to score. So i'd cover him and look for a 'not so risky diff'
