With the 2011/12 fixture list now revealed, we’ve made both our Free and Members Tickers available to our visitors (refresh your page). Membership subscriptions for the new season have also now opened up and are available for the pre-season ”early bird” price of £12.50.

Existing registered users can upgrade to a Member via this link. Those users yet to register can register as Members via this link. All payments are handled via Paypal.

Once again we’ve purchased the required DataCo license to enable us to include club by club data and team names within the ticker.

The “Next Six Ticker” is available to all allowing you to view the difficulty of the opening set of opponents for all Premier League teams. You can sort within a gameweek column to view rankings for that particular gameweek.

The “Members Next Six Ticker” has a wealth of additional features available…

  • Sort by difficulty over a range of gameweeks to analyse those teams with the easiest or most difficult opponents.
  • Add and remove gameweeks to expand/contract your analysis selection.
  • Expand the ticker to full screen to analyse the entire season or large selections of gameweeks.
  • View ratings for Overall Opponent Difficulty, Clean Sheets and Attacking. Using these dropdown filters you can assess who has the most chance of keeping clean sheets or earning goals and assists for a given gameweek or a range of gameweeks.
  • Create your own dropdown filters. Members can view the ratings applied to each team for all existing dropdown filters and, by editing these, create their own sets of ratings and dropdown filters.
  • Share and import dropdown filters. Any selection of ratings can be easily exported as text and then imported into the ticker. This allows the community to share their team ratings and custom filters.
  • Drag and drop rows – Members can drag team rows around within the ticker to allow for easier comparison between teams. This is ideal when analsing teams for defensive potential – particularly when selecting your goalkeeper pairing.
  • Rollover information on each ticker cell offers the history of the fixture including statistics on previous meetings between the two teams.

Thanks go out to PureOlivia for his superb and timely work on the tickers.

Members will of course have access to whole range of other benefits. Although this is a “soft” relaunch of the members area, there are a still a number of features we can list, some of which are already available:

  • Full Opta Data for both players and teams for the forthcoming season. Statistics arrive after matchdays and offer gameweek and season cumulative statistics for a whole range of match events. Click here for more details on these.
  • Cumulative data is available for the 2010/11 (and 2009/10 very soon) to allow you to analyse player and team performance ahead of next season.
  • Exclusive Members Only Articles. These articles pick apart the Opta Data and offer new in-depth insight into team and player performance.
  • Exclusive Members Cup Competition with a prize pool.
  • Access to Beta Test developments. Early signups will have exclusive access to next season’s new site developments in test. We hope to begin testing new features on July 25 – Members will get to see and use these features first.
  • Much more to come….

As mentioned, this is very much a “soft” launch of the Members area, fired up early to enable the inclusion of the new Season Ticker. We will be officially launching the Members Area next month and we will be testing and bringing you news of new features over the coming weeks. Stay tuned for development news in the next few weeks.

Above all perhaps, signing up as a site member provides the support that enables us to continue to offer licensed features, continue to develop this site as a valuable resource to Fantasy Managers and for me personally, to maintain involvement to ensure that this site grows and delivers.

As always, many thanks for your continued support.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Can someone explain to me the fixture difficulty ratings and how they are applied (table below the ticker in the members section), seems a strange way of analysing fixtures at the start of the season...

The ratings are based on last season's statistical form home and away. Last season's goals conceded, goals scored etc. They are slightly modified but, since we have no current season form to go on, this modifier is purely weighted by opinion.

The ratings are modified regularly and you can of course modify them yourself if you're a member. Have a play - the defaults are kept stored so, when you start to edit, you immeidately create your own set or ratings you can save. There's also an undo button of course.

Are we really gonna fall into the trap of getting Wigan players at the start of the season because they have "easy" games against the promoted sides? I'm not failing for that, I think at least 2 out of the 3 of them will start strongly and are we not forgetting that Wigan are kind of rubbish?!

sure it's been noted today, but QPR and Swansea's fixtures rotate very nicely for the first five or so weeks.

Makes Taarabt and Sinclair a nice little money saving combo in the middle to spare some cash for some lovely big jublies up top.

its the penalty aspect that appeals to both as well as rotation.

I look back at the key failures boselli and SEB and neither had either a prem pedigree or penalties.

Both Taarabt and Sinclair can do little, end up on a losing side, but all it takes is a penalty and they can end up with 7-8 pts minimum. If Boselli has pen duties I may, just may have stuck with him.

        Both are worth a thought.

Boselli took a penalty but missed. 😛 The problem was people only got him for the Blackpool game because they had Chelsea, Tottenham, Sunderland and Man City after so everyone shipped him out.

He didn't help himself though missing a few good chances and eventually losing interest (apparently the cold. 😛 http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2011/01/20/2315117/genoa-striker-mauro-boselli-i-left-england-because-it-was)

If Wigan decide to keep him and he does well in pre season I may be tempted to get him again. 😛

          another on penalties.

Also Taarabt and sinclair are the main men at their respective teams already. No way am I gambling on the likes of Holt or another unproven striker...but mids and cheap defenders are worth a little flutter.

I keep thinking about lovely big jublies up top and need to fund them somehow.

    Afternoon all,

    Initial thoughts;
Everton's opening fixtures look appealing. Problem is (historically) they don't tend to find any form early on.

Chelsea - new manager on the horizon. If it is Hiddink, his previous spell in charge he galvanised a team that went on a marvellous run.

Utd - Not terribly attractive opening fixtures. But, thinking De Gea or Vidic (whichever is cheaper) from the start.

Everton - still not sure on Baines, I won't be paying more than 7.5.

Chelsea - will have at least 2 players for their opening run.

United - doubt I'll be going there, wait a few weeks.

foster if bham are prepared to let him go. I can't see them not buying someone to replace Friedl.

Going to be an interesting season...just a month to go before FPL resumes. Hope they bring in the vice captain rule instead of the emergency captain craziness they have now.

    Woohoo tickertastic.
Fixture list out, membership renewed, Newcastle sign Djemba Ba for zilch and get £4m for Nolan.
    Not a bad days work.

Looking at the fixtures, its nice to see a stretch of blue for the Toon, including an easy opener against Arsenal - we might even give them a five goal head start this time 😛

If Zogs stays at Wigan he'd be essential looking at their fixtures, he probably wont though. Looks like United can be safely ignored for a few weeks, think a few City boys will be in my side though.

Hmmm defence rotation looks a tricky one. I want two or three nailed on defenders/keeper from one of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool. So far the best matches are

    Chelsea/Fulham
    City/Villa (only up until GW12)
    Liverpool/Everton (could be pricey)

Definitely going to invest more in defence this season.

This will be my second season after a steep learning curve last year I was very happy with the outcome but this will be the first time I have thought of what happens preseason as my last team was rushed out in the last few days.

Is it possible to "trade" preseason?

i.e If there are a batch of players who I think are mispriced, can I buy them as soon as the game opens and switch into the other players I actually want later on, or are prices static until the start of the season.

Thinking particularly of exploiting transfer related price movements.

On an FF front, doubling up on Chelsea defence for the first few weeks looks promosing....

Taabarat is going to be in everyones team by the looks of things, as is N'Zogbia if he stays at Wigan.

Once again, I'll worry about that when they actually leave.
Enrique will leave - Ferguson looks a good prospect
Barton 50% chance of leaving before the season starts - they'll get a replacement (Blaise Matiudi looks to be coming)
Jonas - speculation about him leaving - speculation about Bernetta arriving.

No point worrying until they leave and aren't replaced. All the recent doomtalk about Newcastle makes as much sense to me as all the doomtalk about 5under1and last week. Both sides are pretty decent and should be safe mid table.

          Absolutely the correct decision, Atilla.

I know it seems weird getting rid of him but he is 29 now and the reality is that he is going to be in decline for a large portion of those 5 years.

You got the best out of him with a season for the ages last season. Chances of him repeating that a year later were slim.

Let West Ham be saddled with his ridiculously inflated contract. If they don't come straight back up they'll prob have to sell him next year anyway.

Yep, agree with that. In terms of on field stuff - he scored some important goals, but thats because he was basically up front for some games with our striker crisis. I can't see where he would actually fit in as I imagine Cabaye will be preferred to him and Ben Arfa is back. Better to let him go than have a pissed off captain sitting on the bench.

Cabaye isn't a given as you never know how a foreign player is going to adapt to the Prem.

But he is younger and you really can't be spending the kind of money Nolan was after on a 29 yr old whose skills are going to decline and whose injury risk will increase every year that contract goes on.

I think NUFC fans should be very pleased with the board for making the right decision on this one and not letting themselves be influenced by what happened last season.

If Nolan gets crocked or has a crap season he will have next to nothing in sell on value. Cabaye will still have value if he flops, due to his age.

QPR and Swansea for the cheap option:

BOL WIG SUN NEW WBA AVL STK BLA wol BOL

for first ten weeks - probably at a knock down price of 8mil

STK/AVL rotate nicely too. Checking their keepers' prices will be one thing I look out for.

Not sure how cheap Villa defenders or Fulham defenders will be - might still be worth taking a Villa defender though, especially with the way McLeish is likely to set up.

Agree about the goalkeepers - I still like my budget options though if money is tight!

Yeah that's an excellent find there. Just concerned about SWN's ability to keep cs. Need to read that recent article again. Free flowing footy from them with goals either end. I suspect we might find this season's Charlie Adam from them.

I like Swansea's defence - 2nd tightest in the Championship last season and conceded 16 less than Norwich.

I'd be surprised if they kept too many cleanies in the prem, but they should be well organised (and cheap).

Yeah just been reading the write ups on the promoted sides:

                Cleenies: QPR 26 SWN 21 NOR 11

That QPR/SWN rotation looks good 🙂

SWN look very solid at home.

I think have one or t'other but not both.

I'm going for Kenny (of course) because I believe that a) he will have a better defence in front of him and b) he's a better shot stopper than De Vries (De Vries could actually be the best passer of a ball out of all the keepers in the prem this year).

Kenny is also probably more likely to keep a cleanie away whereas Swansea were pretty average on the road last season. Kenny, then, at least appears to give you a better option if you need to play one of them in an away game in an emergency.

                    Thanks for that Nomar!

SWN kept a lot of home cleenies last season so a rotation will be a necessity. Not sure whether it should be a gk or defender rotation though? Any attack-minded defenders you'd recommend?

Thanks for the info on PK who I know nothing about.

Jafalad must be a Leeds fan.

Only team to take more than 4 points off us last season.

Angel Rangel is well worth a look in for Swansea.

Gorkks comes up for set pieces so he may be worth a look too. I'd also watch out for who we sign up. Rumours of Kyle Naughton and Ryan Bertrand are doing the rounds.

Both would be good investments for cheap defs if they come to QPR.

Fare-thee-well to these reliables from last season:
Phil Jones - won't get the pitch time at United to be worth the arse.
Elmo/Mummy - will be a pretty average midfielder
Coleman - again should be classed as a midfielder. No ta.

OK, folks back home now and a chance to really look at the fixtures.

First off, I speak for every QPR fan when I see that looking at that PREMIER LEAGUE fixture list and seeing QPR on it was just a thing of sheer beauty and joy. Man, am I BUZZED today!!!

Looking at it, we really could not have asked for a better start. BOL, eve, wig is a 3 game intro where I really think we need to look at 4 points minimum, 5 should be our realistic target and 7 would be ideal!

Bolton is a must win game in my opinion and Everton are usually slow starters so we may catch them cold and get a hard earned point. Wigan will be down there with the dead men you'd imagine so we need to take something from that game.

Our first 8 games are all against teams who are unlikely to feature in the top 8/10 places s we really have to hit the ground running and fast.

A bad start and we are screwed because our last 8 games include Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City. We need to make damn sure we have enough points on the board long before then.

If you're getting Taarabt, lads, get him in right away at the start. Those opening games are going to need him to be at his very best and if he's going to be a points magnet those are the games he's going to shine in.

Like I said, they are notoriously slow starters so I have to hope that happens again.

They also tend to struggle breaking down defensive minded teams. I'm hoping we can go up there, park the bus and get a point.

However, Bolton at home and Wigan away are games that we absolutely have to target as cannot lose matches. I'd also say we really have to look at the opener as a must win game.

I think you're going to see a lot of drawn games this season.

We need a CB and LB. I think its likely we'll be getting Naughton on loan and I believe we are putting in an offer for Bertrand from Chelsea.

Get those two in and I think we'll be a tough team to score on at home.

Paddy Kenny is, imo, definitely a Premier League level keeper. He will get you save points. I'd say if you want a cheap keeper then getting Kenny at the start and playing him in our home games would be a good move.

We absolutely need a fast start here, Morrisey.

To be honest, we couldn't have picked a more favourable opening sked if we'd tried. We must make hay whie the sun shines and get max points from those first 8 games, all of which I believe are winnable.

We won't win them all but I think we need to be looking at winning 4 of those first 8.

A good start is vital because the end of Oct and beginning of Nov is horrible, back to back games against Chelsea, Spurs and Man City. No points from that lot!!

Also, we need to be safe by the end of March because our relegation run in is absolutely horrific. Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Man City in the last 8 games. That's just plain filthy!!

I ran a geeky check on every run of 5 and 10 games that every club has all season to see where the best bits are. Good runs are very thin on the ground all round before GW 11 or 12. Utd in particular have a very lopsided season

true, but there are better runs for lots of teams later in the season was my point. West brom have a nice run from week 3 is a rare highlight in the first part of the season. Nothing as good turns up again until Utd from week 15.

Are most people thinking of spending the whole 100m or leaving some in reserve? Eg; Upgrade striker for RVP in GWK 4!

Impossible question until we know the prices??
We may see some bigger prices for newcomers this year after the success of Adam and Odem this year
Taraabt could be 6.5 you never know??
