With the 2011/12 fixture list now revealed, we’ve made both our Free and Members Tickers available to our visitors (refresh your page). Membership subscriptions for the new season have also now opened up and are available for the pre-season ”early bird” price of £12.50.

Existing registered users can upgrade to a Member via this link. Those users yet to register can register as Members via this link. All payments are handled via Paypal.

Once again we’ve purchased the required DataCo license to enable us to include club by club data and team names within the ticker.

The “Next Six Ticker” is available to all allowing you to view the difficulty of the opening set of opponents for all Premier League teams. You can sort within a gameweek column to view rankings for that particular gameweek.

The “Members Next Six Ticker” has a wealth of additional features available…

  • Sort by difficulty over a range of gameweeks to analyse those teams with the easiest or most difficult opponents.
  • Add and remove gameweeks to expand/contract your analysis selection.
  • Expand the ticker to full screen to analyse the entire season or large selections of gameweeks.
  • View ratings for Overall Opponent Difficulty, Clean Sheets and Attacking. Using these dropdown filters you can assess who has the most chance of keeping clean sheets or earning goals and assists for a given gameweek or a range of gameweeks.
  • Create your own dropdown filters. Members can view the ratings applied to each team for all existing dropdown filters and, by editing these, create their own sets of ratings and dropdown filters.
  • Share and import dropdown filters. Any selection of ratings can be easily exported as text and then imported into the ticker. This allows the community to share their team ratings and custom filters.
  • Drag and drop rows – Members can drag team rows around within the ticker to allow for easier comparison between teams. This is ideal when analsing teams for defensive potential – particularly when selecting your goalkeeper pairing.
  • Rollover information on each ticker cell offers the history of the fixture including statistics on previous meetings between the two teams.

Thanks go out to PureOlivia for his superb and timely work on the tickers.

Members will of course have access to whole range of other benefits. Although this is a “soft” relaunch of the members area, there are a still a number of features we can list, some of which are already available:

  • Full Opta Data for both players and teams for the forthcoming season. Statistics arrive after matchdays and offer gameweek and season cumulative statistics for a whole range of match events. Click here for more details on these.
  • Cumulative data is available for the 2010/11 (and 2009/10 very soon) to allow you to analyse player and team performance ahead of next season.
  • Exclusive Members Only Articles. These articles pick apart the Opta Data and offer new in-depth insight into team and player performance.
  • Exclusive Members Cup Competition with a prize pool.
  • Access to Beta Test developments. Early signups will have exclusive access to next season’s new site developments in test. We hope to begin testing new features on July 25 – Members will get to see and use these features first.
  • Much more to come….

As mentioned, this is very much a “soft” launch of the Members area, fired up early to enable the inclusion of the new Season Ticker. We will be officially launching the Members Area next month and we will be testing and bringing you news of new features over the coming weeks. Stay tuned for development news in the next few weeks.

Above all perhaps, signing up as a site member provides the support that enables us to continue to offer licensed features, continue to develop this site as a valuable resource to Fantasy Managers and for me personally, to maintain involvement to ensure that this site grows and delivers.

As always, many thanks for your continued support.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The next six ticker exhibits a lot more optimism about the FPL season than I could summon on reading the fixtures. I shall compel the members' ticker to reflect my natural defeatism.

Yeah, I believe that it's run (almost) purely on the numbers of last season at the moment so is, perhaps unsurprisingly, going along the lines of [easy/easy/easy-ish/top four/easy].

I've had my own word in Mark's ear about that, and I know that we will be working on it as time progresses anyway.

My personal unadulterated Andy specific one (link here for my first draft rankings if you want to import and see) has more red in it, as an example of someone perhaps equally "pessimistic".

Frontline of Suarez/RvP/Mystery Guest for me, the teams and prices can't come up soon enough.

Hope that prices are higher this season so it's tougher to find decent prospects, would make it slightly more exciting.

It's generally a hefty sized file and attaching it to articles would give massive load times on a major scale - imagine thousands of people on a dugout discussion, for example, refreshing through the game (and every time they post a comment) loading it up each time... it would bum-rush our servers on a brutal scale.

We've got some very meaty servers now these days, but I'm not sure they're enough to cope with that level of beef.

Best FPL option out of Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Ba? I loved the look of Ben Arfa for his 2 games or so worth last season but I assume things will be a lot different with new players and so on?

Wholly depends on how he has recovered from that injury. Pardew said near the end of last season that he intends on using Ben Arfa just behind the front striker. From his couple of games last season he also took a few of the shootable freekicks. Potentially great FPL material but it was a horrendous injury so we'll see how he does pre-season.
Not seen much of Cabaye, but according to the OPTA stats he had more touches than anyone else in the French league last season (bonus magnet?) and is known for his prowess at set pieces and is a good penalty taker. Again pre-season will tell.
Ba should be a good cheap striker option if he is in the 5m bracket.

Newcastle now have a solid good standard front six [Tiote, Cabaye; Barton, Ben Arfa, Jonas; Ba] ...but you've got no depth, but a lot of money in theory, so it's time to keep spending.

I'm sure you will, but otherwise an injury or two and a midfield of Gosling, Guthrie and Kazenga will see you doomed.

Still don't see why they sold Nolan? I suppose he would of demanded a first team place, when the rest are better options, obviously Allardyce had something to do with it too.

We sold him because he is 29 and was demanding a 5 year contract. It didn't make sense to pay a 34 year old £65k per week, especially as there was a chance he might have lost his first team role.

True, though Gosling is supposed to be very well thought of by the staff. Again he's had a nasty time of it with injuries so we'll have to see how he does.
I agree though, the squad is pretty damned small and needs to be strengthened. I'd like to see the odd youngster like Ferguson and Airey get a go next season too

Horrific. Absolutely horrific. We should play that formation I set (the game we won), where you have two ST and a CF just behind, as with a flat three in the middle if Hunter goes wandering off out of position we get merked as its 4 v 2 in the midfield.
            Horrible session.

Sure. See the formation is totally dependant on the positional discipline of the players. CF and ST you can get away with roaming a bit, when you're CM you HAVE to stay in position or we get tanked as defence should be priority 1. I think we were just getting caught because of that.

Tchoyi is on my watchlist, but West Brom's starting fixtures aren't good. Van De Vaart won't be as effective this season IMO. Depending on Spurs get up front though, and if Modric goes or not. Adam, pfft. I'd rather have Carroll depending on price, or Henderson, Adam has got to be deployed in a Scholes sort of role, Merieles and even Gerrard are better Attacking midfielders, as is Henderson from what i've seen. I think Bolton will struggle this season, not going near them FPL wise.

Norwich, yeah you've got that spot on. Man U, Always got to have a defender from them when fixtures are kind. Newcastle, Cabaye?, Surely he's worth a look, depending on how he fits in of course. Damien Duff of Fulham? I prefer him to Dempsey myself, cheaper, been out all season with injury, he was a treasure to me in 09/10.

RMT. That's right - Rate My Team. You heard it here first. Well, first from me anyway. So rate it. Or don't, see if I care, but you better f&*%$£ rate it. Deal? Good, we are agreed. You're rating it.

    Reina, Howard
Baines, Skrtel, G.Johnson, Ivanovic, QPR def (One Size Fitz Hall maybe)
Cabaye (yeeeah, taste the punt), N'Zogs (if he stays), Taarabt, MF MF (£20m ish to spend on two)
    RVP, Torres, Ba.

The Liverpool defenders are subject to change depending on who they buy, as is Ivanovic, and pretty much all of them. Yes this is a waste of time, but I enjoyed it. How was it for you?

The whole RMT experience was how I expected it. RMTs need to be sexed up a bit this summer. Car chases or tropical islands, something to stop them being so stale. How about doing the next one in morse code?

Definitely should establish a code of sorts to frustrate the knaves.
            Ok so
            Ameobi = RVP
            Zamora = Torres
            Carew = Rooney
            Elokobi = Vidic

Just did it all on last seasons FPL prices. Obviously there is going to be some differences but can't see it being massively different price wise. For example with Glen Johnson I probably wont get him, but I deliberately chose the most expensive Liverpool defender to give me wriggle room price wise.

Modric at Chelsea will really throw things amongst the midfield with Lampard surely taking a hit. Will that see VDV deeper for Spurs too? More bad news if that's the case. With Young United bound, things aren't shaping up well in the mid-price bracket so far.

If anyone is still interested in the U-21 competition, the Swiss sports editor who accurately leaked the Swiss team for the first two matches has just passed on the "likely" line-up for tomorrow. It's 4-1-4-1, as before:

    Sommer

    Koch, Rossini, Klose, Berardi

    Lustenberger

    Shaqiri, Xhaka, Frei, Emeghara

    Mehmedi

So, although rotation had been predicted in some circles, there might be only one change - Mehmedi in for Gavranović.

It's an Alan Partridge reference back when he was a character on Chris Morris's Radio 4 show "On The Hour". Partridge used to read out spoof football results such as:

"I'm Alan Partridge - this is Division Two. Hull Paragraph 5, Portsmouth Bubblejet 1. Sheffield Hysterical 3, Chunky Norwich 1. Richmond Arithmetic versus Nottingham Marjorie - match postponed due to bent pitch. Good night."

        And then:
"The Scottish Division One game between Taste of Dunfermline and Strathcarnage cannot be stopped."

Settling on the two 'big' players will be the hardest part imo, if the season started tomorrow I'd probably go for Lampard and Tevez/Suarez, maybe squeeze them both in.

I suspect he'll be listed as a midfielder as he should be playing a wide roll. Other players playing similar positions Walcott, N'Zogbia to name two both classed as midfielders last year.

hart n al habsi wudv cost 10 mil begining of last season hart reached up to a 0.9 increase by the end of the season

foster n robinson were both 4.5 at the begining so thats 1 million less for the premium choice, cud be the way to go tho i reckon

Swansea keeper. They were very solid at home in the Championship, can see them having a good season. Norwich have the leaky defence out of the three promoted sides, wouldn't touch any of their defenders.

That's a massive waste in my book. Two cheap-ish keepers rotating always works better.

By picking a expensive goalkeeper, it essentially means you'll have to pick a cheaper defender in his place: so rather than having (for example) Krul and A.Cole, you'll have Cech and Simpson.

Obviously the two Chelsea players will get more points than the two Newcastle ones, but as you're having one of each, Krul will make up points on Simpson through saves, while Cole's attacking threat will be up on Cech, who won't make as many saves.

With goalkeepers, you can only play one a week, you need to play at least three defenders - your money is better invested in them.

food for thought mf....think conventional wisdom has us using the full squad so ur probably right, will depend on how i see my team shaping up really i suppose

Absolutely agree with this. Rotating cheap goalies works great, and it frees up funds which you need for attackers. The more money you can invest in your forward 8, the better, because they are the ones that go up in price the fastest. Building team value, remember that...
