With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is Athletico Timbo’s RMT.

Krul, Mannone
Cahill, Terry, Ben Davies, Wisdom, Moore
Mata, Eriksen, Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Albrighton
Rooney, Dzeko, Adebayor.

0.5 in the bank

Timbo tells us he is  happy with his midfield and attack but has major concerns at the back. John Terry and Gary Cahill are season keepers, and he feels they will play every week  but it’s the third defensive spot that worries him. Ideally he’d like another constant to play every week alongside his Chelsea duo so that he can use those precious transfers for more pressing matters, like jumping on the right bandwagons at the right time. He could be persuaded to have a couple of rotating cheap defenders instead of Ben Davies and Liam Moore – there’s a spare half a million floating around if that helps. Lastly, his goalkeeping combo seems to be collapsing around his ears. Is it too risky to stick with Vito Mannone? Should he go with David De Gea or is there something better out there?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Hi, would like a bit of help with this?

    Schmeichel (Hamer)

(Cameron / de Laet / Rosenoir) rotating w/ (duff / yoshida)

Sanchez Henderson Mata (Brady) rotating w/ (Routledge)

    Sturridge Costa Rooney

    1m ITB

It's been fairly settled for a while now so any feedback welcome.

Having only 1 nailed on defender, who happens to play for a club who start the season with 3 games against 3 teams in last year's top five is asking for trouble...

      Powerhouse front line.

Personally, I'd prefer a little more investment in the 4th mid and maybe defence.

      Why 1m in the bank?!

I'd personally drop Sanchez to Ramsey, Routledge -> Albrington/4.5 and Brady -> Siggy and then invest the rest into defense. Whilst cheaping out on defense in general will work out for the first half of the season, yours is a bit too cheap. There are plenty of points to be had in some of the 5.0-5.5m defenders this year.

Regarding Fabregas, do we see him playing in the "hole" until Oscar proves his fitness (and form) or do we expect him to start alongside Matic in the "double pivot". Also, when he was at Arsenal was he used mainly behind the striker or deeper?

Wondered if people could venture their opinion on the following...

I already have Costa in attack. In order to have Hazard, I'm left with Ward, Taylor and Debuchy as my regular defence.

Would you have this or swap Hazard for Sterling therefore strengthing defence to Cahill, Taylor, Debuchy?

Yeah your mids are obviously nuts but I think relying on Caulker as your number 1 defender week in and week out is risky. Maybe cut down Yaya or Hazard to someone like Silva and put that extra mil into a decent defender with a chance at clean sheets. Just my initial impulse, though I could be off.

Haven't done this yet, but which would y'all rather have out of these two:

    Option A:

Guzan (Gilks) - Guzan could be any 4.5 but I think he'll be okay for at least the first 3 GWs
Terry/Debuchy/Caulker (Chester/Bruce) - Chester seems to rotate well with Caulker
    Silva/Mata/Eriksen/Siggy/de Jong
    Rooney/Costa/Austin

This would rotate between a 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 depending on QPR's fixtures. Or I could go with Option B...

Guzan (Gilks) - Same deal as above
    Terry/Debuchy/Caulker (Chester/Bruce) - etc.
    Silva/Mata/Eriksen/Siggy (Albrighton)
Rooney/Costa/Giroud - Giroud, again, could be another 8.5 like Bony or Dzeko, or I could save some cash on Jovetic or Remy. I'd be limited to a 3-4-3 but I'd have to keep a bankable 3rd ST.

Thoughts or further suggestions? I'd be willing to drop someone like Costa for Big Rom if Everton's first 8 weeks weren't pure hell.

    Ok, here's my 2nd attempt:

    Green - Speroni (rotation H-A)

Cameron - Caulker - Shaw - Ashley Williams - Ward (Williams - Shaw + Ward - Caulker rotation)

    Sanchez - Mata - Hazard - Erikssen - Shelvey

    Rooney - Bojan - Berahino

    4-4-2 / 4-5-1 / 3-5-2 as most obvious choices.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

Team looks much better now IMO. Can't decide on the 5th defender (Wisdom / N Taylor at the moment).

        Green - Speroni (rotation H-A)

        J Evans - Caulker - Wisdom - Taylor - Ward

Look how Vertonghen scored in his last season playing CB. Look how CB's scored under Poch last year. Combined with the fact that if Poch can get 15 clean sheets out of Southampton, I expect him to get similar from Tottenham.

I really do like that draft Bubz

it all comes down to how much you value Chelsea defence, and which 10.5 PL new boy you prefer

I also wonder if perhaps the extra appeal of Costa is the better options in the mid priced range

Do you think it looks better with Fab, Eriksen, Dzeko in the place of Haz, Tadic, Jovetic? Feels a lot safer like that, but I really want Hazard...

To be honest, I've been willing to go without a Chelsea defender, but the crowd is swaying me. Almost everyone is going to have some form of Chelsea defender. And at the end of the day, they are just guaranteed a good amount of clean sheets. So I bit the bullet and stuck one in. Would obviously like a Terry or Cahill, but I'm starting to think Luis is the most nailed on. He is a very important cog in Mourinho's plan going forward. He needed a natural left back badly.

Do you have Costa currently? I just can't see any better options than him and Rooney up top

I've been playing around with something like this (but with Bego as keeper over Krul)

It;s really tough, I', starting to think it's Hazard on his own or Fab and Costa

I don't have Costa but like you say strikers below him (until you hit 6.0) are a bit meh unless you fancy Dzeko or Lukaku

I'm wondering of a Sanchez with Dzeko and Lukaku is better than Tadic and Costa.

Well I want to keep my Utd, Vert, Chelsea defence. I already have 2 4.0 fodders in defence and can't afford Bego. It's just a choice between DDG + 4.5 def or Evans + 4.5 keeper. Unless I change something up top to free up cash.

Like I said above I think I'm reaching the conclusion that's Hazard alone or Fab and Costa

I'd lean towards Hazard alone, I think he has the potential to be the top scoring FPL player this season

              I came up with this

              Bego

              Evans, Vert, Luis, 4.5, 4.0

              Sanchez, Hazard, Mata, Siggy, 4.5

              Rooney, Dzeko, Austin

Yeah you're probably right, Hazard could be huge this season, I really wouldn't want to go without him.

That's a really nice team. Like it a lot. Austin the only weak link but you have to compromise somewhere. Just unsure if I'd want to go without Costa, but as you say, it's him or Sanchez pretty much.

    Rate my freaking team:
    😉

    K: Speroni/Green

    D: 5-man-rotation:
    Pocognoli/van Aanholt/Janmaat/Huth/Taylor

M: Mata, Fabregas, Sanchez, Snodgrass, Sigurdsson

    A: Rooney, Costa, Fletcher

I believe in Fletcher this season. Are there any other midfield-options which rotates well with Sunderland?

    adios, emeigos!

The quality of the midfielders suggest a 3-5-2, but I hope Siggy and Bojan will be a useful rotation which allows me to play 3-4-3, especially with Stokes fixtures. Thanks.

Mate i actually think thats pretty decent.

Even tho adebayor has had no pre season you know he'll bang them in and spurs fixtures are decent.

Maybe swap out green for 4m goalie and then you'll have 0.5 extra and i dont like newcastle defence

    Begovic
    Caulker/Terry/Debuchy/Davies
    Sanchez/Ramsey/Mata
    Bojan/Rooney/Dzeko

    Krul, Sigurdsson, Barton, Wisdom

    0.5 million in the bank.

There are 2 big worries over Sanchez

Firstly there is his price. If he gets off to a flier you will want him and he'll be hard to get

Then there is his ownership. If gets off to a flier you're playing catch-up straight away

same with so many players you can't have them all. And sanchez is less likely to get off to a flier than most with two fixtures that aren't gimmees.
