With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is Spencer.

Krul – Foster
Luis – Coloccini – Wisdom – Ward – Cameron
Mata – Sigurdsson – Eriksen – de Jong – Albrighton
Rooney – Costa – Sturridge

Nothing in the bank.

He is aware that at the back he is relying heavily on clean sheets at Newcastle and West Brom. Any advice on improving his back-line would be appreciated. Also, is he right to opt for the expensive Daniel Sturridge? Will a lack of Arsenal cover come back to bite him?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Similar to mine, but I went with Costa as he has two promoted teams first. Bit worried about Dzeko new, LIV first fixtures could be tough. Nice defence but I'm not sure about Debuchy. Has Nasri played in preseason?

Yeah been thinking about trying to get costa in for dezeko somehow too. Thought Nasri offered good value following last season and no world cup.

Had doubts about Debuchy too but wasn't sure who to change him for at similar value

Would appreciate comments on the below:

    Krul, Elliot

Evans, Ferdinand (Yoshida) Wisdom (N Taylor)

    Hazard, Ramsey, Mata, Eriksen (Siggy)

    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    Reasons:

GK: Cheap pair, I need the cash. Would prefer a rotating pair or playing 4.0 GK are there any?

DEF: Evans - great fixtures. Fedinand - attacking defender who rotates with Yoshida to give 8 home games to start. Wisdom - a risk I know but played most pre-season and was good at Fulham, rotates well with N Taylor.

MID: Hazard as Fab is playing too deep. Ramsey I could lose due to tough fixtures but he was great last year so no reason he won't do it again. Mata great fixtures. Eriksen I think will be great value. Siggy is again great value but am tempted to lose him for Albrighton.

FWD: Costa first two fixtures scream goals. Bojan is a risk but am rotating with Siggy. Am tempted to try and get in Dzeko but his fixtures are poor.

    Thanks for any advice.

Well balanced team. Only thing missing is a Chelsea defender imo (though not necessarily essential). I think Siggy is worth the extra 1.5m over Albrighton.

      I like it.

I have the same goalkeepers. Makes sense to save cash and avoid getting the rotation wrong each week!

I think the Bojan/Siggy rotation could pay off over the first few games and am tempted to do similar. At the moment I am keeping Dzeko, but then I am struggling to fit Mata AND Fab into my squad.

You've got that covered (although you have plumped for Hazard).

      Nice team.

Risks? Ferdinand's fitness. Would be tempted to see if he beds in. Although today's friendly may offer some clue on that front.

      Is Yoshida nailed on?

    Hi guys

I am flirting with a chelsea defender but not convinced about what it means for the rest of my team - any thoughts?

    Krul/Elliot

    Terry/Van Aanholt/Wisdom (NTaylor/Bruce)

    Mata/Sanchez/Fabregas/Albrighton (Siggurdson)

    Rooney/Costa/Dzeko

Better to wait and see what the final Chelski line up is? I figure Terry is pretty much nailed though. Or better to spread cash across the back line more, and forego the chelsea defensive option?

Played along with a very standard template team last year and ended up with a fairly reasonable score, going a bit more risky this year..

      RMT:

      Mannone (Myhill)
Debuchy - Zabaleta - Ward (Bruce - Wisdom)
Sánchez - Hazard - Barkley - Eriksen (El Ahmadi)
Rooney - Bojan - Diego Costa

Could backfire, or my front 6/7 could propel me into a position with back up points from Zaba (who can be changed to Kompany if he plays a shocker)

Don't think Zab will play GW1 because of WC, unless you've heard differently?

Now sure re Barkley personally, but could turn out to be a great differential early on.

I am also tempted to go with Bojan to start with ...

    Current team and thoughts:

3.5M in bank, but see below

    De Gea (Gilks)
    Febuchy, Caulker, Vertonghen (Trippier, Clyne)
    Fabregas, Siggy, Snodgrass, YYT (Albrighton)
    Bojan, Rooney, Jovetic

After GW1, plan to transfer Jovetic to Sturridge.

Then is the rest are injury free, use the 9.0 Fabregas slot to "cherry pick" by fixtures, perhaps
    GW3 - Ramsay @ LEI
    GW4 - Fabregas v SWA
    GW5 - Mata @ LEI

    and so on....good strategy ?

Could work as long as all those 9.0m players stay at 9.0m over the first few weeks. When will price rises kick in, and do you have 0.5m in reserve in case one of them does a 'Ramsey' and starts like a train?

On the basis that Stoke & Southampton forwards only have one "tricky" game each between now & last week of November, how does this look?

        Debuchy, Caulker, Vertonghen (Trippier, Clyne)
        Fabregas, Ramsey, Yaya, Snodgrass (Siggy)

I would look at downgrading Howard to mannone who rotates nicely with krul, and use the extra money to upgrade barkley as I dont feel he posts attacking returns consistently enough and Evertons opening fixtures aren't the nicest. Also Sigurdson will probably be more advanced and should hopefully give better returns than henderson.
Just a couple of thoughts but hope it helps!

    Begovic - Krul
Filipe Luis - Terry - Chester - (Wisdom) - (Targett)
    Sanchez - Mirallas - Mata - Young - (Albrighton)
Diego Costa - Rooney - Lambert

The plan is to rotate the keepers for 1st 8 weeks then re-assess.

The dangers as I see it are around Terry (will he play enough), Young (is he good enough), Mirallas (Everton fixtures), and Lambert (Liverpool fixtures).

I'm hoping Targett starts getting games this season now everyone else has left but realise that is not something I can reliably expect. And I'm drawn to Lambert for wk 1 partly I think to see if he does something exciting against Southampton.

Investing heavily in Chelsea DEF could be sketchy early on not knowing solid starters.

      Young, not convinced.

Lambert - defo not a good starter, would upgrade to Bony for 0.5 and i would get that from swapping Beg for Mannone on the same rotation.

I'm not 100% convinced on Young neither, but he's been good preseason and the manager seems to like him so I'm going to give him a game and see what happens I think.

Lambert though I think I just have to accept he's not going to do what I want him to. I was toying with the idea of Remy as a price-neutral replacement... Great shout on freeing up more cash on the keepers.

Hi all. First post this season would appreciate some feedback!

    Howard (4.0)

    Jones, Terry, Simpson (Bruce, Upson)

    Mata, Ramsey, Silva, Hoilett (Albrighton)

    Costa, Rooney, Dzeko

Not sure about my City choices for the rotation risk
Also Jones vs. Evans - who's the bigger goal threat/bonus magnet?

Shaw - Van Gal mentioned that Shaw is not in shape a few weeks ago, but he was subbed in in one of the games and played well. If he starts and plays great - otherwise you wasted 6m on a defender when you could have picked a nailed starter.

Terry - Chelsea has a solid defensive - almost too many players that are too good. This means they can rotate players often - and they will especially with champions league - just something to consider.

      Ramsey - awesome
      Mata - great
      Erikkson - great

Jovetic is good - but not going to be a long term option. I like dzeko more, more playing time in the long run and once aguero and negredo come back - hes more likely to play with them.

What about Lukaku for Jotevic and some savings elsewhere? Other good options Pelle, Bony, Giroud are other great choices in that price range.

      Best of luck

    Thoughts or comments appreciated

    De Gea (myhill)
    Davies, Debuchy, Evans (duff, wisdom)
    Mutch, Nasri, Gerrard, Sterling (albrighton)
    Rooney, Sturridge, Dzeko

Only thing I can think of:
Thinking of swapping Sturridge with Costa and upgrading mutch.

-Davies to be rotated with Rose
-Gerrard to Mata (fixtures and not worth having 3 Liverpool)
-You need either Costa or Hazard imo due to Chelsea's excellent fixtures at the start of the season.

Solid, Sanchez sucks a lot of cash out of the team but if you want him then don't shift! Defence is a little shaky with the absence of a Chels def but potential for attacking pts there should pull you through. Midfield is very solid, I would want Hazard or Fabregas but would mean sacrificing Sanchez.

Front line is good, Jovetic one to watch closely tomorrow though.

    Rate My Team!

I know, I've got 3 diabolical defenders that I definitely won't get away with having, waiting until CS until final call is made on Giroud/Jovetic, but otherwise I think it's pretty good, what say you? 🙂

    Bego | 4.0
    Terry | Evans | Wisdom | Hutton | Bartley
    Hazard | Mata | Lamela | Siggy | Marney
    Rooney | Giroud | Costa

    Cheers.

        Giroud isn't a certainty.
        Bartley too looks risky.
