With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is 7 Shades of Smoke’s RMT.

Courtois (Given)

Filipe Luís, Evans, Vermaelen (Chester, Wisdom)

Sanchez, Mata, Arnautovic, N’Zogbia (El Ahmadi)

Rooney, Diego Costa, Jovetic

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

Solid lineup if you're thinking of playing 352. Ward and PvA should be fine on defence. Wilson and Taylor shouldn't be pricier than 4.5, if they are you should consider letting them go.

Other than that, properly prepared team I think.

If Sanchez is going to be competition for Giroud than going without him is insanity and if he starts gw 1 as a centre forward you will probably have a bad gw 1 score , I have reservations about Bojan and am inclined to go with a proven premiership player eg fletcher , jelly etc .

My I have people's thoughts on this?

    Foster - Guzan

Luis - Shaw - Coloccini - Bartley - Van Aanholt

    Sanchez - Mata - Fabregas - Tadic - Sigurdsson

    Rooney - Jovetic - Bojan

    Planning on playing 3-5-2.

Would it be wise to downgrade wither or both of the 6.0 defenders to 5.5 in order to boost the midfield or, say, upgrade Jovetic to Lukaku? Or could I downgrade Shaw and upgrade Luis to a more nailed on Chelsea defender?

I think you have slightly too much invested in defence.

Please RMT used all the cash

    Begovic Gilks

    Clyne Aanholt Chester Hutton Moore

    Sanchez Mata Henderson Siggy Davis

    Sturridge Rooney Costa

    Please RMT with .5 left

    Begovic Gilks

    Clyne Aanholt Chester Hutton Moore

    Sanchez Mata Nasri Siggy Davis

    Rooney Costa Dzeko

Still unsure how Steven Davis will be used but think he will be in the attacking front 3 right ?

This is how they rotate , i think it's a nice enough rotation and costing 22.0

I'd get Faurlin out definitely, he probably won't start any games with a fully fit squad. Isgrove of Soton is a better choice. Vaz Te similarly won't get a look in, downgrade on Hazard because he's not fully fit (replace with David Silva or Ramsey and you'll have 5.5m to spend on another striker).

Yeah Campbell is a decent shout, though he needs to play up top with a target man or big striker otherwise he won't score goals. He can't play on his own really, that's the only risk.

Also David Nugent has been banging them in for Leicester, Weimann is Villa's no.1 striker because Benteke is injured and perhaps Sanogo at 5.0 for Arsenal because Giroud and Podolski aren't fully fit at the moment.

Anyone give me advice on this?

    Guzan

    Chambers - Wisdom - Baines

    Mata - Ramsey (V) - Fabregas - Eriksen

    Dzeko - Rooney (C) - Pelle

Bench - Krul, Ward-Prowse, Yoshida, N Taylor, 0 mil in the bank

Should I go with Lamela instead of Eriksen? Or Nasri/Silva over Mata? Also Dzeko is probably not nailed on so should I change him?

Eriksen or Lamela conundrum is something i spent a long time on. In the end i went for Eriksen as he has freekick duties and corners... I have both Mata (easy opening fixtures and perfect for LVG's 4-3-1-2) and have Dzeko (likely to start as Aguero is injured)

      Good luck!

yep, that's the dilemma. Lamela was amazing at Roma and with Pocchetin could just flourish this year...

I like your team. Unusual. Baines is so tempting but with opening fixtures so tough many will not opt for him and will then not have enough money to purchase him later (at least until WC)

Thanks, the most important part was getting a strong midfield over everything. I think Baines is a risk worth taking, though... scores goals, takes free kicks, pens sometimes, corners. He's like an extra midfielder in the defensive line.

Yoshida will take over because Southampton have a very nice run of fixtures, Swansea likewise (Neil Taylor). Also Chambers is the third choice centre half so if PM or LK are injured he'll be straight in.

I'd have a complete rethink of the defence. I like Caulker and Begovic, but I'd wait and see how United do defensively and I'd wait until Arsenal's fixtures improve. Cameron isn't nailed on. I like the midfield, people have been questioning Siggy on the wing, but he'll get set pieces. Don't like Austin up front, I just think you need 3 good strikers in FPL.

      2) Rethink whether you want Evans and Debuchy, there are much better 5.0 options imo - you could save 1m. Also get rid of Wisdom and Vlaar. West Brom are relegation candidates and Aston Villa are hardly a fort at the back. Look at Bartley or QPR.
      3) Hoilett AND Bojan weakens your side considerably. Sanchez > Ramsey gets you another 1.5m.
      4) You already have Costa - who I think will be a beast - why not downgrade Hazard to someone like Eriksen.
      5) Use the saved cash to improve either Hoilett (if you're going 3-5-2) or Bojan (3-4-3)

cheers for your reply however I like Nasri's Prospects this season and think he will have a chip on his shoulder from being left out for the world cup, Southampton have okay early fixtures although Colocini may be a option Cameron has to much competition from Bardsley for me to consider him. Don't like any of the 4.5 options and want rotation. I'm Considering upgrading to Costa however i'm planning on waiting to Wild Card considering how high profile forwards have failed at Chelsea in the past. Lovren Isn't a Option for me as I Don't like the way Liverpool set up defensively!

      1) I'm avoiding Man U back line until we get to see them in action. Try Begovic
      2) I like your defence, except Cameron and Davies - neither will play consistently. Kaboul looks more nailed on than Davies (who seems to be rotating with Rose). QPR rotate well Newcastle and Palace, so consider Ferdinand or Caulker. You could gamble on Luis being a starter to accomodate Caulker.
      3) Swansea are total gamble, could be great under Monk, or get dragged down the table. Once we know which of Dzeko or Jovetic will start, I'd go for him over Bony.
      4) I guess you're playing 3-5-2. Keep an eye on Arnie's game time.

Hi Guys - repost from yesterdays thread as I didn't realise this one was set up...

v2 of my team coming up. Thanks in advance for any assistance provided and an overall rating out of 10 would be great:

McGregor (Heaton) - rotating depending on fixtures
Terry, Debuchy, Cameron/N. Taylor (rotating depending on fixtures), (Wisdom)
Mata, Sanchez, Sigurdsson, Nasri, (S. Davis)
    Dzeko, Rooney, Bojan

    2m ITB.

Wisdom/S.Davis bandwagon fodder at this point though I could use the money to upgrade Nasri to Hazard but feel a bit odd without a City mid (I know others might say the same about no Chelsea attackers).

    And some general overall questions:
    1. Should I do Nasri -> Hazard and leave 0.5 ITB for early bandwagons or keep the spare cash for inevitable multiple early GW bandwagons?
    2. Any suggestions for 4.5m mids that are just as locked in to start as S.Davis?
    3. Why does everyone keep saying that Cameron isn't nailed on to start considering the number of games he played last season and performance at the WC? If so, who should I take instead of Cameron? Pieters?
    4. Why is Wisdom as nailed on to start as everyone says he is?
    5. Moore/Hutton/Baird worth a shot?
    6. Any suggestions on improvements?

Hi all, any thoughts on this?

    Mannone (Krul)

    Luis Jones Chester (Mee, Wisdom)

    Snoddy, Silva, Eriksen, Sanchez (Siggy)

    Bojan Costa Rooney

Mee and Chester rotate beautifully, as do keepers and Siggy/Bojan. Sanchez/Silva ready to be replaced by Toure, Ramsey, Hazard.

Why is everyone overlooking Jones for Evans? To my mind both nailed on (pending signings) but Jones probably higher up pecking order.

    Any thoughts on this:

    Krul Foster
    Luis Bavies Ward Ferdinand Moore
    Hazard Mata Erikson Sigurdsson Marney
    Rooney Giroud Dzeko

Have 1.5m ITB. Plan to catch whichever untested prospect starts well rather than trying to guess which one will.

      1) I've never liked that keeper combo Prefer Begovic or Speroni and a non-playing 4.0
      2) Nice defence. Davies could be rotated with Rose though, Kaboul has played pretty much every game pre-season. Same price too.
      3) Nice midfield.
      4) Nice attack.

People will tell you Giroud is unfit and will be rotated. But the fact is, he was 3rd highest scoring forward last season and is still priced at a measly 8.5! Great value. He plays a role that Sanchez can't (back to goal target man).

Kaboul has started pretty much every pre-seaon game. No Punch as I only want Top 6 teams in my front 7. I had Siggy for a while, but I don't like his prospects on the wing and something about Swansea worries me. Hendo has looked great pre-season and is the Liverpool central midfielder making runs into the box. He's a punt because he might not find the net, but I'm willing to take the risk.
