With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

    Thanks, yeah Zamora isn't ideal but think I've set on 3-5-2 rather than 3-4-3. He'll be my 2/3 bench slot, I do think he will get some game time though.

  Like the midfield, and Costa/Rooney works for me. I would change Zamora maybe, for a more regular starter and downgrade BDavies, as I'm not sure how much gametime he'll get.

  Defence is OK if Wisdom and Hutton both start.

What do you reckon lads? Pretty much done I think.

Bego (Gilks)
Debuchy, Chambers, Chester (PVA, Wisdom)
Henderson, Sterling, Mata, Ramsay, Fabregas
Rooney, Diego Costa, Bojan.

I know I've doubled up Arsenal at the back but for 4.5 to have Chambers start the first couple of matches is good value and can be easily replaced with another 4.5.
Same with Pool in midfield, but it allows both a strong 3-5-2 and 3-4-3.

Thoughts? 0.0m ITB.

  Top midfield but as you note as well, I'm always wary of having two players from the same team in GK/DEF, MID or FW.
  
  On that point, not sure that Chambers will start at Everton, let alone get a clean sheet. Defence does look weak across it all.
  
  Think Henderson could be replaced with a more likely points-scoring 6m midfielder, such as Sigurdsson or Snodgrass, both of whom take set pieces and have decent starts to the season.

Hello all, second draft of my team, ratings would be great...

Begovic, Krul
Shaw, Debuchy, Coloccini, Davies, Cahill
Sigurdsson, Snodgrass, Eriksen, Mata, Tadic
Rooney, Costa, Bojan

My own thoughts are that I've probably overpaid in defence and not got enough in midfield, but the rotations work pretty well and Siggy/Snoddy/Tadic have a decent run at the start of the campaign. Any suggestions welcome!

  For 9.5m you can have better keepers imo.
  Defence is way too expensive. I agree with your thoughts, I'd downgrade Shaw, Debuchy or Cahill to a 4m and upgrade mids.

  Would drop Shaw and Cahill as the extra cash can be used to strengthen your midfield. Upgrade Tadic to Fabregas/Ramsey/Sterling and upgrade Snodgrass to Barkley/Townsend

  You'll have to bench one of Siggy and Pelle each week which you don't want to do. Davies, Cameron and Wisdom aren't 100% nailed on so watch out for them. Other than that it's OK.

    I will wait and see who does better between Siggy and Pelle and then change for a cheapo bench mid/fwd and probably put the money into the defence.
    
    Re: defence, I was trying to avoid two players DF/GK from same team - that's good right?
    
    Wisdom I can cope with - he's the best 4.0 option I could find - if there's better pls shout.
    
    O'Shea/Ferdinand/Vlaar are other options, but I don't like Villa's early fixtures. Plus, no idea how QPR will perform defensively. Tempted to switch Mannone for Foster and Cameron for O'Shea, as a safer start, and then if Davies doesn't play, I should be able find a 5.0 player.

  I might regret not bringing in Diego, but after watching Sanchez today, I dropped him, I reckon he might need several games to adjust to the premier league. Don't get me wrong he looks good, but Ramsey is 1.5m cheaper (and scored today) and at least until Sanchez proves himself, Ramsey is safer option.

    What would you suggest doing to raise funds for my defence? Sanchez -> Ramsey would be the obvious move I guess?

      Yeah, I'm going to avoid Sanchez until Walcott gets back, then he'll be moved more central into a more likely goalscoring position. Ramsey is the better choice.
      
      Yoshida (4.5) is probably going to partner Fonte for Southampton. Get rid of Ward for a nailed on defender.

Can i get a RMT please

speroni • green ------ best rotation i could find
evans • huth/naylor • luis • duff ------ stoke/swans rotate well and hull/burnley rotate well
ramsey • mata • fab • eriksen • siggy
rooney • dzeko • bojan ----- bojan/siggy rotate well

I think its a pretty good team...some of the improvements/changes i can think of
- downgrading luis to a 4.5 and upgrading fab >> haz
- going for degea/non starter over speroni/green...same cost. can then replace evans with debuchy
- luis+fab+bojan >> clyne+davis+costa

  Wanyama isn't going to get you any points, Henderson probably won't rack up as many as he did last year.

    Thanks for response - BUT Wanyama is best fodder, Wisdom will only play first week (in place for Clyne) and Caulker and Ward rotate perfectly.

  If you want to go with that frontline, I think it'd be better to downgrade the defence and get a 3rd good midfielder. With the abundance of options around 9mil in midfield I doubt 2 will be enough.

Begovic - Murphy
Terry - Evans - Debuchy - 4.0 - 4.0
Ramsey - Mata - Sterling - Eriksen - 4.5
Rooney - Costa - Bojan

Decided to go with a solid 3-man defence that can play every week, at the cost of a 3rd striker. Ideally I'd want Koscielny over Debuchy, but can't find the cash.

None of the 8.5 FWDs have convinced me. Giroud might not play every game, same for Dzeko/Jovetic/Ade. Only Bony nailed and I don't want to start with him.

Thinking of starting with Chambers with 1m in the bank for some flexibility. Good idea or not?

If a 10m+ player becomes essential, I would dowgrade 1 mid to Siggy and upgrade another mid.

  Swap Cameron for Wilson, more nailed on.
  Strong attack.
  Mannone not nailed on.
  Might as well downgrade Shaw to Man U 5.5M and downgrade either Puncheon or Snoddy so you can have a strong midfielder alongside Eriksen and Mata.
  i.e. Downgrade Kos + Shaw --> Debuchy/Gibbs + JEvans, then downgrade Snoddy --> 4.5M and upgrade Punchoen --> 8.5M
