With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is our fixtures specialist Roscola.

Begovic – (Gilks)
Azpilicueta – Evans – van Aanholt – (Wisdom – Bartley)
Mata – Fabregas – Ramsey – Sterling – Sigurdsson
Rooney – Costa – (Zamora)

Roscola admits his team has a major flaw in that it is potentially benchless. He says though that he’s happy for QPR striker Bobby Zamora never to play, because this is a 3-5-2 that reverts to four at the back for first sub. He believes that there are more points available in the budget bracket in defence than further upfield. Sticking with this basic strategy he is looking for advice to find extra funds to invest in his bench. Downgrading Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City’s Samir Nasri is one option he is considering.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

    Last one for today:

    De Gea
    Caulker Lovren Cameron
    Eriksen Mata Snodgrass Fab
    Costa Rooney Pelle
    ------------------------------------------
    Myhill Ward Clyne Albrighton

Cameron isn't nailed on I reckon, also Albrighton is hurt. Start Clyne or Ward, preferably Clyne.

I'd downgrade Fab to Sterling and use 0.5 somewhere else, possibly upgrading Pelle?

I rate Pelle, although having the Fab-Sterling downgrade as a backup if you need the cash would be handy.

That's a pretty tasty front three, I'd just worry about a complete lack of points from your defenders.

I'm hoping so as 'Pool relies on him. Could be a better scoring option than Sturridge, even. Also comes with a handy 8.5m price.

New to this, what do you all think to:

Mannone / Myhill (never bother with goalkeepers)
Debuchy / Chambers / Azpilcueta (Wisdom / Bruce)
Ramsey / Fabregas / Mata / Noble (Davis)
    Rooney / Coata / Lukaku

Bother with goalkeepers, clean sheets bring good points. I went with a big team keeper but if not, make sure they rotate well, in your case they don't.

Not sure of Azpilicueta, you might have Luis if you want a slightly more nailed on Chelski defender. Bruce is also not nailed, you might look for other limited 4.0 options but that's not really an issue.

Lukaku is doubtful, also Chambers won't get many minutes. I'd try and upgrade Noble and/or Davis.

For the same money as Mannone I would look at Krul - Mannone may not even start at Sunderland this year with Pantilimon around.

Azpilcueta might not always start at Chelsea with Felipe around and Ivanovic on the other side. Might want to look at alternatives there. Chambers may not always start either so you could use that money and go with Evans at Man Utd and Davies at Spurs?

I'd also look at Mutch or Shelvey instead of Noble, as I think West Ham could really struggle this year.

This. If you want a cheap pair that rotate, Krul and one of Mannone/Pantilimon are great and cost you only 0.5 more than what you have.

Chambers is probably okay for early season, while Wenger eases Mertesacker and co back in, but there may come a point when he stops playing so much. Lukaku misses at least week 1.

I like it, my only hesitations would be shaw/ferdinand and dzeko.

Shaw - LVG doesn't think he's quite as fit as he should be yet and Ashley Young has been playing in his position and playing well pre-season.

Ferdinand- I know you'll need a 4.5 to start in order to finance the rest of the team but I don't think your going to get any massive returns from rio, certainly not attack wise, maybe with harry rolling out 3-5-2 they'll be stronger defensively, still a bit risky for me.

Dzeko - I had him from the start, negredo out/aguero struggling for fitness, but he just doesn't look sharp to me, there are 2 dzekos, the one we saw during the CS and the one that finished last season who was scoring goals for fun, could work out, could flop.

Is a 4-5-1 indefensible in Fantasy? I love my team, but I see NO ONE is running this system. I only see one experienced forward in a scoring team (so, no Costa), I have 5 midfielders I like a lot, 4 string defenders and a quality keeper. I have a flex striker (Bojan) and two defenders likely to start at 4.0 or 4.5. Don't want to bother with the players, just wondering if the system is worth it. Essentially coming down to

    Costa/Albrighton
    OR
    Fabregas/ Bojan

    Anyway. 4-5-1. Suicide or no?

I would play a 3-5-2. but I see Costa as the only good option for starts and I am unsure on him. If he explodes out of the gate, I can swing him and Albrighton in on Week 3, I guess. I see him as a card magnet and everyone takes a moment to settle, plus I think Fabregas will shine. Other issue is the 4th defender: the savings on a good defender wouldn't improve on Bojan that much, which means I would have to downgrade a midfielder, which, I don't wanna do. Hmmm.

I think this formation is a potentially excellent one this season. With Sanchez classed as a midfielder, but who may play as a forward. If he does he'll score more points per goal and benefit from clean sheets. this means you can pack your midfield with the big-dogs and rely on a proven striker (Rooney/Aguero[when fit]). As long as your backup strikers aren't filth (as they'll be your first choice subs) and the defence is good enough I think it could be a decent way to go.

Apart from the old game time worry over Dzeko/Wisdom , you appear to have a squad of potential starters, and strong ones at that. Looks good.

    RMT please!

    Heaton/Foster (rotation)

Lovren - Evans (1 from Moore, Baird, Bardsley)

Mata - Cazorla - Nasri - Sterling (Cattermole)

    Rooney - Costa - Soldado

Concerns = 2 from Baggies in DEF but they have kind opening fixture run.
Taking a punt on Cazorla rather than Ramsey, to get him in i'd do Sterling>Coutinho

I'm pretty happy with this iteration to bring Sterling in over Siggy and Austin over Bojan:

    Lloris - Gilks

Evans - Mariappa - Ferdinand (Clyne Moore)

Ramsey - Fabregas - Mata - Sterling (Marney)

    Rooney - Costa - Austin

    Anyone care to RMT ?

Personall I would go Sterling > Coutinho (goal and assist in last friendly and Rodgers says his best position is behind sturrdige) And Austin > Bojan (V.good pre season for bojan and is exciting quick player). That saves you 1m to upgrade defence/gk's

Couthino surely a good player, bu everyone here expecting Sterling to shine this season, and he has also had a good pre-season.
I had Bojan, but there's quite a lot of negativity on him around here , seems most would prefer Austin. But the, surely could use £1.0 for upgrading defence! Suspect I haven't done the last iteration yet!

I'm not settled on my squad yet, but this is where I'm at. I have every intention of starting off in the 3-5-2- formation.

Ideally I'd like to avoid a downgrade of my midfield, but I'm open to all advice.

    DDG / 4M

    PVA / Cahill / 4.5M / 4.5M / Wisdom

    Sterling / Siggy / Eriksen / Mata / Ramsey

    Rooney / Costa / Jutkiewicz

Quite a bit of money, more than most tied up in defence. I'd like to see some Utd/Chelsea coverage at the back if possible.

I'd say Lovren is more nailed on than skrtel, but then again skrtel could be a good differential is liverpool tighten up at the back

zaba might miss first game or two and has competition with Sagna now. campbell wont get much time, so better with Bojan or likewise.

Cheers. I like Campbell as a differential. Not convinced by Bojan so might keep it that way as a bit of a punt.

        back 5 now:
        Evans / Terry / Lovren / Wisdom / Moore

    Ι'm between Hazard and Costa.

If I choose Hazard that's my team.

If I choose Costa, I will not have Austin in the team.
I can change hazard with munch
or hazard with hoillett and then I can also change

    ferdinand with caulker
    or
    taylor with clyde

I can also start the first GW(s) with champers in the team, until mertesacker is fit.

    Thoughts?

    RMT please?

    Krul - (Mannone)
    Debuchy - Evans - B.Davis - (Hutton) - (Wisdom)
    Hazard - Ramsey - Lamela - A.Young - (Albrighton)
    Rooney - Costa - Jovetic

    Some thoughts:
    - I want to start the season with "safe options", as last year I made some bad choices early by gambling too much on new signings.
    - I've saved 1.0 to upgrade for example Debuchy -> Luis/Azpi, Young -> Siggy or Jovetic -> Dzeko when we know more after GW1.
    - The picks I am most unsequre about are Davis, Young and Jovetic.
    - I know that Albrighton is injured, but unless it is serious, I consider him as a potential season keeper.

Any input would be much appreciated!

Yeah, much easier to re-shuffle if you have invested a lot bo one player, rather than spreading the funds on many players. At this stage, I think this is a good tactic, as we will all hate our teams in six or seven days 🙂
