There may be under a week left under the 2014/15 season gets underway but for many Fantasy managers, the midfield dilemma is yet to be resolved. In the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, in particular, the player price list has handed us numerous options to consider for our five-man midfields, with ten players coming in at 9.0 or over:

In this, our latest article for members, we take a look at four of the main contenders – Eden Hazard, Aaron Ramsey, Juan Mata and Raheem Sterling – currently on Fantasy radars.

Sterling has netted in two of his last four appearances and, after notching nine times last term, is backed by many to step up for Liverpool after Luis Suarez’ departure. Ramsey’s 10 goals and nine assists in just 23 appearances last season has catapulted the Welshman into the premium bracket at 9.0, with his strike in yesterday’s Community Shield handing us a timely reminder of his talents. Mata (9.0) has been one of Louis van Gaal’s star performers in the role in “the hole” in a new 3-4-1-2 formation, whilst the 10.0-priced Hazard, despite only returning to pre-season action last week, sits in 22% of squads ahead of fixtures against promoted pair Burnley and Leicester in his first two fixtures.

Casting an eye back to last season, then, we delve into the data and compare their respective displays. First up, we assess each player’s creativity and distribution.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I see the logic in Arteta, but I tend to agree he's a "no." If Mutch was nailed on for Saturday, I'd say go with him, but he may not start. Could look at Livermore, Shelvey or S. Davis.

Just being fairly new to the club. He only has one game under his belt with QPR, I believe. I just wouldn't be surprised if he didn't start. A little bit of a gamble, in my opinion. I'd love to have him in my team, but I don't have the guts.

Not interested in Southampton D at that price. Think they'll leak goals. And Chester is just as nailed as Davies. So I don't see the point.

In the end the versatility the 1m lends me seems far more valuable than any of the options available.

This is the one I saw.

It's a sick team. Good balance even though lots of big hitters. If anything I'd possibly try to upgrade defence a bit so you have one big hitter. Cahill, baines etc. but if you can't it's fine that team will still get you off to a flier.

If you have two 4.0s you're going to have a bad time. They are all crap options, just take one for absolute last spot and never start unless in an emergency. Find that .5 somewhere to have a 4.5 4th defender.

              Yeah your right.

I'm mean from the outside looking in for me I don't understand suicide I find it the darkest way out but the disconnect through not knowing the person I don't feel the sadness.

A relative I would. Or someone close like a friend.

    Bego Hamer
    Ward Caulker Huth Rio Bartley
    Ramsey Fabregas Sterling Siggy Marney
    Sturridge Rooney Jovetic

    0.5 itb

Did a bit more tinkering after reading a few more community articles and came up with this. The double up on QPR is so I have some good early rotation cover for Ward in Rio, but Caulker will likely play every week. The Stoke double up is just good business 😉

Any problems with this team? Anyone care to rate it?

I knew Huth wasn't nailed, but I got the impression that he was the most likely other than Shawcross to find a spot in their back 4. If there's a more nailed on Stoke defender other than Shawcross I am all ears, but please explain why you think so.

Nope, he'd be my pick as well, but still wouldn't want to risk it so personally I just went for Begovic. I was just reading some Stoke fan forums and more than half of them were predicting for Wilson to start over Huth on GW1.

Why not? Caulker is attacking enough to be played pretty much every week as he is likely to get some attacking returns here and there, and Rio is the best 4.5 cover for Ward's difficult early fixtures. Was also considering Mutch in midfield, but I will hold out and see if he starts well...cheap enough to pick up even if his price rises a bit first.

Just seems mad to me, is all. Still a promoted side we are talking about, should be enough pause to own simply one of their defenders to me, but you seem quite sure of it so I hope it works out! I have Caulker so please kindly ask him to score on the games QPR have easy fixtures so I get the 6 points too 🙂

Just my own paranoia I don't like someone who could score potential points sitting on the bench...no matter who they are playing. But you're probably more mentally stable so I like the team though the defense is kinda weak....the price to pay for a strong mid/forward line though!

      Hazard
      Pros: sick player
      Penalties
Better people to finish his chances
Not as many people marking him

      Cons: maybe not as fit
Fabepregas scored a free kick in pre season so will probably take them.

      Fabregas
Pros- linking up well wih costa
      Probz on free kicks

      Cons- not on penalties
      Playing deeper

      Hazard.

Pros - Pens. Goals. More advanced position. Even Mourinho doesn't have the balls to drop him. Can score double figures easily. Captain option.

Cons - Lack of fitness. Better bum than first touch.

      Fabregas.

Pros - Relatively priced well. Will make runs into the box. Record for assists is crazy. Will be on corners.

Cons - Will end up playing in big games. Rubbish haircut.
