With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is our fixtures specialist Roscola.

Begovic – (Gilks)
Azpilicueta – Evans – van Aanholt – (Wisdom – Bartley)
Mata – Fabregas – Ramsey – Sterling – Sigurdsson
Rooney – Costa – (Zamora)

Roscola admits his team has a major flaw in that it is potentially benchless. He says though that he’s happy for QPR striker Bobby Zamora never to play, because this is a 3-5-2 that reverts to four at the back for first sub. He believes that there are more points available in the budget bracket in defence than further upfield. Sticking with this basic strategy he is looking for advice to find extra funds to invest in his bench. Downgrading Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City’s Samir Nasri is one option he is considering.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

    Cahill Evans PvA Coloccini Wisdom
    Eriksen Mata Ramsey Siggy Wanyama/Albrighton
    Rooney Costa Dzeko

PvA and Coloccini will rotate each week.

Thoughts on downgrading Cahill to Luis or Dzeko to Jovetic so that I can upgrade Eriksen to Sterling?

Its a really hard call but personally I've decided to back Jovetic. Of course that could prove to be a mistake but so could getting Sterling over Eriksen with his tough opening fixtures. You have to back your gut on this one I think, any of those variables could work out fine.

Not a fan of El Amadi and Bojan. Far too risky I think. Perhaps consider downgrading Caulker, Ward and Sanchez

Rio, Mariappa and Ramsey. That will get you enough coin to get a solid midfield 5.

Mariappa should be ready for the Arsenal game according to Pulis (not that you'd start him in that game anyway). He is also only a rotation risk if they buy a new fullback which they might. Nevertheless its a better bet than Chambers anyway.

    Morning all! RMT please

    Begovic
    Evans/Chambers/Baird
    Ramsey/Hazard//Mata/Sterling
    Costa/Rooney/Austin

    Subs- Elliot/Chester/Hutton/Isgrove

    .5 left

    My general thoughts/reasoning-
    - Chambers is short term. Looking to end up with back line of

    Evans/ Marriapa/Chester/Baird/QPR 4.5

Happy to wait and see if Marriapa starting and who is nailed at 4.5 for QPR
    -Save the .5?
    - Isgrove can be any 4.5, dont plan to use v often
    -Sterling could be Eriksson

    Any thoughts, ideas, criticism welcome.

(I do prefer Haz over Fab and Austin over Bojan)

Personally I think you'd be better off going with Mariappa straight away and scrapping the Chambers idea. Chambers is a certain transfer waiting to happen whereas Mariappa isn't, he could very well end up being nailed on for a while.

I'd also look at better alternatives to Baird, surely there are some and perhaps the .5 can be used there.

No I don't think your defence is too weak. In fact I'd say its quite solid and all you need. You could risk downgrading Chester to Bruce which will free up funds to upgrade Ward to Evans/Jones. Then you could swap Taylor for Mariappa to get a Palace defender in.

I'm also not sure on Davis, good option but I fear rotation, unfortunately all the budget mid options have issues with them. I'm considering spending more funds there to have no players less than 6m and waiting for the good budget options to reveal themselves a few weeks in.

Hoilett could see less game time with the arrival of Mutch though? Mutch @ 5.5m is a decent option too. Likely to start the opening game in the advanced CM role behind Austin and one of Hoilett/Remy?

I think defence isn't too weak, if anything, maybe abit too heavy. I would shave 1.0-1.5m off it, but that's just me.

I can't tell if you're planning a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, seems like it's bordering between both which isn't entirely a great thing if you need to shift funds around quickly. I would pick a formation and go strong with it.

You have a really strong midfield 5 and I see no reason why you shouldn't back yourself with that. However the usual story with budget mids/fwds is that they should at least be nailed on. The trouble with a budget forward is that they aren't that cheap (apart from Zamora) so you really need to spend at least 5.5 on a budget forward if you want them to be nailed on.

Consider Costa instead of Zamora and downgrade Hazard to Marney perhaps. I think the 3-4-3 is a more flexible lineup anyway.

Good to see someone with Silva - surprisingly he is a unique this year
If you have Wisdom and Bojan you should start them in week 1 over Naylor and PvA

    Begovic (Myhill)

F.Luis Evans $5.0 Mid (Hutton Bartley)

    Ramsey Hendo Yaya Fab Eriksen

    Rooney Giroud (Zamora)

$5.0 mid: Ward, Enrique (if he starts), B.Davies, Huth or anyone who fits the bill.

    Thanks!

My first and only RMT for the year - please let me know what you think (although last year I said Ramsey would have a breakout year and 'the mob' talked me out of it so I'm still bitter!)

First some rationale: I'm planning a GW3 wildcard, I want a cheap Def rotation for 3-weeks, (e.g. Wisdom is benched after GW 1), I'm rotating Siggy and Bojan, planning to turn Giroud into Dzeko/Jov in GW2, I support QPR but am trying not to let it blind me!!

DDG, Given (are there any 4m GKs who might play?)
Kos, Ferdinand, Colo, Taylor (Swa), Wisdom,
    Sanchez, Mata, Fab, Erikson, Siggy
    Rooney Giroud, Bojan

All comments much appreciated - thanks guys

p.s. for all those looking for a cheap (4.5) Mid I would pick Faulin - its his breakout year this year.

Good team. can't really fault it. The only thing is only one Chelsea player. Could you make Giroud into Costa. Maybe Sanchez to Ramsey to free up some money for that.

Maybe switch Sanchez to Ramsey and upgrade Giroud to Costa (+0.5 mil)
Overall, a flexible team that you can change from 3-5-2 to 4-5-1 easily.

      My opinion-
      DDG to Begovic
      Pieters to Evans
      Davis to 4.5
      Bartley to 4.5

If your happy with your squad then keep Sturridge. Will bang in the goals. If you want to improve elsewhere you may need to sacrifice him

Really good team. Looks like you'll be playing Bojan pretty much every week though, but maybe your happy to do that. I'd be tempted to sell Cahill for a 5.0-5.5 and bring in either Mutch or Siggy for Marney to give you another option each week

Greetings Toonzie. I like that squad - this is a 343 i presume? If you're comfortable with starting Bojan week in week out, it's a good squad.

I'm kinda of the opinion 6.5 is really a luxury for a defender with 100m starting budget, and clean sheets are abit of a lottery at the start of the season, with not everyone at max focus yet. I wish there was some research on number of clean sheets on a periodical basis...ie first 10 GWs, vs 2nd 10 GWs etc

I would be very happy with it too.

Maybe Sanchez > Ramsey, Colo > 4.0, Eriksen > Hazard, Costa > Sturridge? Or too template for your liking.

Not too template for me, would absolutely love to have Sturridge in my team. But starting without Sanchez worries me. If he starts strong will be too hard to bring him in, whereas if he starts slow, it's an easy swap

mariappa gametime in an issue for me at the moment

not a big fan of 5 way rotation even tho they rotate well with yr 5 defenders

will be tempted to go drop PVA and spend the extra 0.5m on ward
