The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is our fixtures specialist Roscola.

Begovic – (Gilks)
Azpilicueta – Evans – van Aanholt – (Wisdom – Bartley)
Mata – Fabregas – Ramsey – Sterling – Sigurdsson
Rooney – Costa – (Zamora)

Roscola admits his team has a major flaw in that it is potentially benchless. He says though that he’s happy for QPR striker Bobby Zamora never to play, because this is a 3-5-2 that reverts to four at the back for first sub. He believes that there are more points available in the budget bracket in defence than further upfield. Sticking with this basic strategy he is looking for advice to find extra funds to invest in his bench. Downgrading Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City’s Samir Nasri is one option he is considering.

      I don't think that backline is great value - but tbf they are all decent players

      Front 8 is fine but you need to rethink your defence. Check the fixtures using the ticker on the right

      5/10 dont like two arsenal to start especially since giroud might not start gw1? dont like everton or liverpool opening fixtures in terms of defence , not sold on soton defence as well giving the squad overhaul, prefer de gea over scezny given fixtures so would overhaul whole defence personally, also think there is a lot of competition for places in stoke mid wouldnt be confident of bojan starting regulalry. Find a way to get rooney essential imo

      Not a fan of your budget options, Bruce might be ok but the others certainly aren't.

      Distin needs to be sold as he's under threat from Stones and Everton have rough opening fixtures.

      Fonte is also over priced and I think Saints will struggle after their massive player exodus.

      Lovren could be eased into the team to begin with. Distin unlikely to play as john stones and jagielka should be first choice. Not 100% sure giroud will be always starting too. Sanchez could play lone striker, and sanogo has been impressing pre-season, however, if he were to play, he seems to be a must-have. A player that we will have to wait and see...

    Hi guys, here is my latest, i know it's weak in defence, but i hoping to hop around between the 4.5's and 5.0's throughout the season whoever emerges as a favourite in that sort of price bracket. Anyhow.....

      is luis nailed? for me Chelsea 6m is no go

      I don't like giroud - not nailed and he isn't good in the big games (which come thick and fast at the start of the season)

      the luis money is probably better used to get 2 5m options, gives it more balance

        I've just this second thought this, and looked at an older draft.

        Instead of luis ferdinand and chambers, would you prefer: Evans, Debuchy and van Aanholt/Chambers?

        I would of loved to have said a mix of both! Haha!
        Well, actually, it's just that he does seem to be involved in quite a lot of build up play, plus he is very much overlooked and blurred out by all the Sterling and Sturridge love which is understandable, but i just honestly think he is a very plausible way into Liverpools attack, justifies 6.0 in my opinion.

          Plus he does get his share of assists and scores goals as well. He is my only way into Pools attack though without disturbing the rest of my midfield.

          Arsenal got the highest amount of cleansheets last season
          N crystal palace kept a lot of cleansheets under pulis so yh good choices
          Also i think lamela is having a good preseason howver he is a big risk

      I see you clearly prefer the bojan punt over diouf compared to me 😛 It seems from what ive learnt from stoke forums though diouf is more nailed on . Plus bojan is kind of playing reverse oop. Other than that our teams are remarkably simalir so i like 😛

      Great team! The mid/forward rotation is weird IMO. Who will you field in GW1? They all have good fixtures. Might want to either downgrade Henderson/Young or Diouf and decide on 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 🙂

        Taylor and Van Aanholt on the rotate. I like the Bruce prospects as I see Hull with 3 CBs at the back. Davis looks alright for 5 or could go with JWP instead

      I like this alot. Just a personal preference but i would have Hendo as a 5.0 and use the 1m for Bojan to a 6.0 and another .5 in defence/ save but thats just me. Nice team

        Could be something to think about, cheers. Not sure I like any of the 6.0's over Bojan up front though, could reinvest at the back. Ward > Lovren and Wisdom > 4.5 or Rio > Lovren.
