The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

    I'd be concerned about Cameron and De Jong. Other than that looks good. Remy ousting Austin is a situation worth keeping an eye on though.

      Unconvinced about Henderson. I think there are better midfieldiers available for that price - Puncheon, Sigurdsson, Snodgrass.

      Looks ok to me short term. Once Young finds himself on the bench though you'll have to make a few changes to generate cash.

      Look at Lamela...
      He has gone under the radar but under the new manager could be a upgrade of LLalana for an extra 0.5 , if you have it going spare maybe have a look at him

    A little advice please guys. Currently:

    Krul / Foster

    Evans / F.Luis / Wisdom / PVA / NTaylor

    Mata / Hazard / Ramsey / Siggy / Hendo

    Costa / Rooney (c) / Bojan.

    - Swans/Stoke rotation 352/343.

    However i'm concerned on the lack of Liverpool coverage. Do you think i should:

    A. Keep the above.
    B. Hazard/Hendo > Sterling/Eriksen.
    C. Hazard/Hendo > Sterling/Coutinho.

      Good

      but personally I dont like the Foster/Krul combo. I know it looks good on paper with rotation and even has some stats backing it, but I dont trust any of those team for CS home or away.
      I would upgrade or rather put in green/murphy on a 0,5 discount to use elsewhere.
      But thats just my opinion ofcourse 🙂

    Thoughts on my team:

    De Gea, Gilks
    van Aaanholt, Debuchy, Cahill, Davies, Wisdom
    Ramsey, Erkisen, Sigurdsson, Mata, El Ahmadi
    Diego Costa, Rooney, Pelle

    Quite happy, my concerns are Davies and Wisdom ? Would it be better to have two 4.5 defenders who rotate well ?

        I'm not keen on Remy, but that is your choice.

        I would wait several GWs on Barkley

      Solid team. I'd say Fletcher is the best 5.5 striker, especially with those fixtures and questions over Wickham's future.

      Like the Siggy/Arnau rotation. Are you sure on Fletcher or he will rotate in 3-5-2?

        Fletcher is the best striker for me at 5.5m. I don´t buy the Bojan hype. Also Fletcher is on PK.

        My idea would be to rotate, some weeks I would play 3-5-2 and in others 3-4-3 (gw1 with siggy at united for example, he would be on my bench).

    What do you think? Courtois will become Begovic if Cech doesn't leave. Maybe Shaw > Evans and Bruce > Wilson. I'm not keen on Ireland either, but lots of big hitters are in there.

    I really like De Jong, is a doubt so will be Hendo from GW1 till he is fit. Albrighton currently doubt too but he is the best 4.5 so I will put him in there as he is unlikely to play anyway. Or may just replace Albrighton with another 4.5 like Marney or Wanayama.

      Really strong. Maybe I would go Green and Evans instead of DDG and Rio personally. Green more saves points than DDG and Evans more goalthreat than Rio, but then again you wouldnt need Mariappa to rotate and could use the 0,5 on a rotating keeper, but this is quite cosmetical, so I say go for this one 🙂

      For me, there are to many ??? surrounding alot of players, even if you are going to WC. Kolarov, Courtois, Young could all start on the bench.

        thanks for your thoughts. kolarov is virtually as nailed as can be (short term anyway), and i think young has done enough to start. Courtois is a worry though, i'll have to monitor that.

        Take Yaya out and put silva or Fabregas in, as he uses too much budget. You can then upgrade Austin and Albrighton.

            The only concern with that is if YYT starts well, then it's really hard to re-budget to bring him in, but by starting with him it's easy to change to Haz/Fab/Silva/Sanchez...
