The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next Fantasy Premier League RMT contender is Alex Bowers, the winner of the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta version 2013/14.

Alex is not thrilled about having Gylfi Sigurdsson on the bench for the first Gameweek so he is open to alternative suggestions for his fifth midfield slot. He is adopting a wait-and-see aproach regarding Chelsea midfielders, Arsenal and Manchester City. Is he right to wait?

        giroud mostly under performs imo. no striker options other than bony for me at the start

    Most teams seem to be coming down to Hazard vs Costa, I've gone for the former. Please RMT. Have gone for some obvious template options and a few punts/differentials

    Krul / Foster

    Vertongen / Kolarov / Debuchy / Lovren (Targett)

    Ramsey / Hazard / Eriksen / Mata ( Marney)

    Rooney / Jovetic ( burnely forward beginning with J)

    I know heavy in defence but all have assist /goal potential

      I don't usually go for 4-4-2 but I really like your team. There's a good chance that defense will get you either an assist/goal or some bps every GW. Plus, four attacking defenders will be more fun to watch then just one forward!

      I suppose the obvious critic is the starting time for Kolorov, not sure about him. But with so many yellow flags in the City defence you should be golden for the first several GWs.

      Monor thing - I think Bartley, Bruce, Hutton, Wisdom are all better choices than Targett

      Nice team and good rotate with Bojan and Siggy also here is good Rotate between Crystal and Newcastle so get a defender from newcastle and change Foster and Krul with one GK like Begovic or DDG

      Done well in preseason, seems a focal point of the Stoke attack and Stoke have decent fixtures to start off with.

      Looks like a sacrifice in defence in favour of power attack. FF last year favoured a good defence, though am a bit rusty on the rules this year.

        Fabregas could certainly be changed for Sterling to add more weight to the defence.

      Sterling could be a massive points scorer. Not so sure about Diego Costa probably get booked every game he plays, better value around.

    5 team strategy for the first 8 GW, use WC after that.

    After GW1 I bring Siggy for Henderson.

      Similar to how mine was before. Alot of punts in that team... What if fletcher doesn't score the goals? and costa is new to the prem.. then you rely on rooney soley for your goals... and midfield doesn't allow for a 5-man midfield line-up with any kind of confidence.

      I'd drop Costa for Giroud who you can swap for Lukaku if need be. Would free up some cash to improve your midfield. Upgrade sig to Sterling/Eriksen/Oscar

    Anyone got an idea on Wisdom and his chances of starting each game?

    Bojan is a good punt because he has scored like 3 in 3 in pre-season. Also, if it doesn't work out you have the option of switching over to Fletcher for the same price. Just need to have a 5th midfielder who plays incase they both mis-fire. Stokes fixtures allow someone to score alot. If not Bojan who?

      Giroud. Basically their only foward, (maybe you could call Sanchez a foward) and sanogo won't be much a treat imo. Jovetic is against dzecko, aguero, and negredo. But Manuel does play two up front so your call
