The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

    Wondering if Lamela should swap in for Eriksen or even Ramsey. What do you guys think?

          Plays up top rather than off the striker. Clinical finisher and on penalties.

      I would say A. Choosing between Bojan and Austin is just a gamble. Sterling > Young.

      mannone, jagielka, lloris and maybe mangala out for me. i'd rather have a Chelsea defender then mangala in the opening fixtures.

        Thanks. I've just looked at putting Cahill in but have to take out Bony to do it. I like the idea of Lloris though as I think tottenham might keep a few clean sheets. Southampton did well defensively under Pochettino.

      Cool team, different to a lot of others. With Everton's fixtures I'd be a bit wary of Jagielka though. You could change Sanchez and upgrade to Baines?

    I think I've settled on this team, until further notice. I reckon it's fairly balanced. Made a few changes here and there. Thoughts? 0.5m in the bank.

      maybe downgrade siggy and upgrade GK? or defense?

      Midfield is very good. Wouldn't change it. Not sure if jovetic will play, you might be able to find a slightly cheaper striker who is guaranteed to play and might nick the odd goal.

      Not sure about whether Liverpool will keep too many clean sheets so I've not put in Lovren. Maybe look at Newcastle after this first gameweek and use felipe luis for gw1.

      Good strike force and midfield but not sure about the defence. Luis is fine but I'm very uneasy about putting in a Utd defender at the moment. Maybe a qpr or arsenal defender if you can afford them. Debuchy played well in the community shield and got forward well, meaning potential for assists and crosses into the box. Don't know if marney has played many games during pre season so he might well not play.

        thanks. i just picked a 4.5 mid. first I was going for albrighton but then he got injured and has a bad couple of fixtures. I quess i need to find out more about marney.
        I don't like my DEF but don't know how to turn it around....

      A lot of money spent upfront. Don't need sterling and Henderson. I'd downgrade strurridge. Bulk up midfield. But interesting team to incorporate that firepower up front!

      Top heavy. It's a midfielders season. Rooney and Costa, swap sturridge for bojan or Austin and upgrade sigg or hen to mata. Easy to find a mill to upgrade Costa or Rooney to sturridge if he goes off.
