The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

    First time post, here goes:

    Krul (myhill)

    Moore / caulker / debuchy / ( ward / wisdom)

    Fabregas / Mata / Ramsey / Henderson / (siggy)

    Costa / Rooney / jovetic

    I'm mainly concerned about GK and DEF. I haven't gone terry as I don't want more than 2 players from each team to start. If someone could help me shuffle around my defence to accommodate a hi with better games- preferably rotating. That would be great!!!

        Also considering going 3-5-2. I'm thinking it's gonna be a midfielder season and I'm unhappy leaving siggy on the sidelines.

        Need at least £9 on GK pairing. £5M+£4M or good rotating £4.5Ms
        Debauchy to Lovren,
        Siggy or Hendo to £5.5M or less
        Moore to £4.5, Chambers, PVA, Naughton

        I think Chambers is good for at least 2 matches..Mert not ready for GW1, possibly 2 and Kosc also holding a knock..if Arsenal keep CS he may not want to rock the boat until it proves to not work

      Like it apart from Barkley and Sigg. Would look to Mata or Ramsey and downgrade other.
      Wallace to Isgrove as a punt.
      Sturridge to Costa would give you an extra £1M to invest in midfield. Maybe Coutinho if you prefer to Ramsey or Mata.
      i think lack of Chelsea and Arsenal will hurt you. Baines, despite returns, very expensive.

      Young not nailed, your risk though. Could be a big player at the start of the season.
      A lot of buck spent up front. But insure you're aware of this already 😉

        Yep, the only problem I have with my team is I'm a bit over reliant on Hull and Swansea, think I might just leave it.

    Hi all, please rate- thanks a lot for your advice in advance:

    Begovic

    Azpi, Isla, Debuchy

    Hazard, Sterling, Mata, Mutch

    Jovetic, Rooney, Diouf

    Bench: Lloris, Sigurdson, Wisdom, Ward

    What do you guys think, I think my keepers (and defence for that matter) are a bit expensive

    Also concerned about Azpi playing time.

    A couple of gambles: Diouf for one, and Isla more so, may not even start first up, but in a 3-5-2 as a wing back I think he may get some joy

      7 it isn't really my cup of tea. Manquillo wisdom and isgrove too much of a gamble. Not sold on coutinho

        Coutinho has been fantastic in pre-season. Isgrove has started most games for Soton, Wisdom is an obvious gamble and Manquillo could be a hidden gem!

        But, I may have also fecked up too, all part of the game

          Pretty confident.. he's ultimately a replacement for Cole, so I don't see any reason why he wouldn't start. Obviously Azpi would be the player to get in the way but it just doesn't make sense to not play the guy you just paid £15m for.

      you have too many doubtful straters to be wasting a pre planned transefer on chambrs out. Could do sanchez to ramsey and upgrade your defence
