The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Green Windmill is keeping 1.0 in the bank to address any issue that may arise from the first week’s games or for a rainy day. Is he right to keep this back? He is also open to suggestions to improve his bench and wonders whether Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard may be a risk given his reduced pre-season. Could his team mate Cesc Fabregas be a better choice?

      Bad GKer's imo. Speroni might even lose his spot this season according to some. Brunt, Coutinho, El Ahmadi and Remy should be no where near your team either.

        Why not Coutinho? Tbh I had sterling in place but then Coutinho ' s pre - season swayed me.

    Only missing piece is my last defender, gone with Ward for now, have 5.5 ITB, pls help!

      Very similar to a team I had.

      I tried to build a team round Yaya but ended up freeing up 2m buy swapping him and Eriksen for Fabregas and Mata.
      Time will tell who's right 🙂

    Mata Ramsey Sterling Lamella Puncheon

    Rooney Costa Austin

    I've gone with a Puncheon/Austin rotation as my final attacker, they have great fixtures when combined. Defence is a bit cheap but should be able to get three out with decent fixtures each week.

    Thoughts?

    Good morning pals,

    I am changing the team nearly every second. So here is the current team.

    Bego / Green
    Debuchy, PvA, Wisdom, Bartley, Naughton
    Young, Mata, Eriksen, Fab, Ramsey
    Costa, Rooney, Bojan.

    1.0 in the bank.

    I'm thinking to go 3-5-2 and to leave Bojan at bench gives me a stomachache. I may upgrade defence with a chelsea player but I would like to wait and see how the choosen one will determine the defence.

    So please RMT and give some feedbacks.

      8/10. Think Jones/Evans could be abetter option than Debuchy given Arsenal's opening fixtures, also Wisdom, Bartley & Naughton could cause you rotation headaches

      I had bojan on my bench overnight and couldn't sleep properly.

      Midfield and up top looks great. Weak defence. You thinking about Felipe Luis or azpilicueta? Defo needs one better defender

        A recently just put in Azpli .. Tbh a would do that but am too scared to choose a Chelsea defender as a I know the one I choose will b dropped. 😉

    Very similar to mine posted above, Defence has good rotation pairings as QPR/Palace and Hull/SOT rotate very well

        If he hasn't somehow played his way into first 11 yea. He may be one of those I keep around for the season as you don't lose much of them, and he could be a fantastic buy for Arsenal and in fact FPL if you just plan to keep him around for rest, rotation and injury.

        Ill try starting a 4.0 and upgrading Chambers if it necessary tjough

          Probably onto something there. He might even threaten Debuchy's place should he get shifted out of CB when Mert and Kos return to full fitness. So certainly keeping around then potentially.

    I have had Mata in every draft until the Young bandwagon came along. It means I don't have t go without one of Ramsey or Hazard....still not sure though.

      Yeah I've jumped on the Young wagon. It enables me to get Ramsey in instead of Mata. Youngs the way to go I think.

      Looks good to me. Consider downgrading one ore two of your defenders so you could upgrade Bojan.

      Hazard -> Fabregas might be one means to free up cash. Consider Young instead of Marney in that case.

        Can see your point Ape, but Bony did score pretty well last season and he does have pens for Swansea, they also have a reasonable run after playing MUFC.

        Do we think Fabregas will play the double pivot position more than likely? If so, I would prefer the attacking returns of Hazard. I suppose if Fabregas does start well I could do that trade down.
