With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

  Chambers is great for the first 2 weeks, and could be used after that because of Champions league. Just be aware that he is not long term. Villa have horrendous starting fixtures as well, try Colloccini, Van Aanholt, Ferdinand etc instead for your 4.5

  Hendo is an interesting shout, most have gone for Siggy, or (Whisper is, Ashley Young). I wouldnt expect many goals from him, regardless of what Rodgers says.

      N Taylor or Collocini maybe? Prefer to go for players likely to play at start of season and then jumping on the teams keeping clean sheets when they arise (I.e. palace last year). Although I do realise that covers rio too!

A bit cheap at the back but I think with rotation I can field 2 cheepies with good fixtures alongside Jones. What do you think? Maybe downgrade one heavy hitter in Mid or For and boost up the defence?

  It's pretty solid actually. Cheap defence is the best way to start the season i would think, clean sheets are hard to predict early on. Strong midfield/attack, hard to think of something better really.

  I like it, defence could use an upgrade but the mids and attack look strong so I don't know who you would downgrade.

Are the following players worth the extra money?

Costa over Dzeko
Sterling over Henderson
Siggy/Hendo over 4.5 mid

Also who is the best third forward option for 6 or less? I am torn between Austin and Bojan at the moment.
