The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

        Could easily swap to DDG/Debuchy instead of Jones/Szcz but went for the later due to less % ownership exposure. Didn't think Ospina was a massive threat to Szcz what do others think?

      Caulker over Ward or Haangeland? Crystal Palace defence much better IMO with a proven defensive manager (the opposite of Arry) and a proven premier league defence after last year.

      Just because Caulker scored 5 last year doesn't mean he will again.

      Rest looks solid, Naughton over Chambers though?

      Looks very nice - well balanced and strong on all grounds. I'm considering naughton as an option myself after looking into him when his name was mentioned earlier - looks a nice early punt! Not too much wrong, I personally prefer Clyne or Ward to caulker (but as I said, that's just my preference).

      I'm a bit unsure of this whole CPL situation, i think if Kelly becomes nailed on Chester --> Kelly is on the cards meaning I won't need Ward.

      I think Caulkers a good pick actually, QPR dont have much going forward to 'Arry might keep it tight.

      Option 2 is definitely worth it to me, you don't wanna be playing Fletcher every week. Not only is he not nailed on, he's hardly prolific

      Love the fletcher pick. Looks like a strong team.

      Simpson and Bruce are not secure though imo, especially Simpson.

        Cheers im a sunderland supporter so always try and get at least 1 of ours in. Hes had a full preseason this year so hopefully can replicate his form when he first signed. I thought simpson was nailed on, who would be playing instead? Bruce i agree it was a toss up between him and hutton.

    0.5 left for future upgrades, but no Chelsea defender until I know who will play.

      Get Cahill until clearer picture emerges with Luis/Azp, keep Ward. Nobody nailed on in Stoke defence except Shawcross.

      I'm inclined to keep dzeko if your 2nd choice is bojan. Not sure about the Rodwell pick, but that's just my opinion. H/ever I wouldn't be too worried about PvA in defence. Looks good overall, don't fret, good luck!

          I actually prefer option A, just for the security of starts of terry. But given you'll most likely be benching Rodwell most weeks, I'd downgrade him to a 4.5 and spend the extra .5 upgrading Bruce to a 4.5 defender that rotates with PvA.

          Having recovered from the initially dazzling exterior, and actually perusing the team, I'd have to say it's very nice. I'm not brave enough to go with the holy trinity up front, but if you're going to do it - that's about as good as it gets. Good luck to you sir!

    Plan is to rotate Bojan/Siggy cos they rotate perfectly. But is that midfield way too expensive/Defence too weak? Any suggestions? Cheers!

      I have the same thought with defence, Chambers is ideal for the first few weeks at least. but may come stuck after per gets back.
