With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Kicking off today’s RMT discussion is Evs.

DDG, Gilks
Ward, Terry, N.Taylor, Wisdom, Bruce.
Ramsey, Mata, Fabregas, Sigurdson, Wanyama
Jovetic, Rooney, Costa.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

      i would say B

i could be wrong but chelsea's midfield is so deep that i imagine there will be a significant amount of rotation so fab may not get all the minutes. you could argue the same with jovetic and young once kun and shaw healthy respectively.

i have bojan as well - but with diouf and crouchy, is he going to start? i havent seen stoke's preseason games...

    Foster (Krul)
Terry, Pieters, Chambers (Clyne, N Taylor)
    Hazard, Mata, Ramsey, Dorrans (Siggy)
    Rooney, Costa, Fletcher

    - Pieters pretty much nailed on, right?
    - Chambers short-term pick.
    - Might go Ramsey>Eriksen and Chambers>Jones before deadline.

Ok I think I've got it now, final team.

    Begovic (Krul)

    Wisdom, Terry, Jones (Ward, Hutton)
    Henderson, Mata, Fabregas, Dorrans (Siggy)
    Jovetic, Rooney (c), Costa

Happy with the depth, Dorrans is my wildcard but he takes penalties. £1.5m spare. What do we think?

Looks a good one and still 1.5 to spare ! Gotta go with gut if you really like Dorrans .
Personally would downgrade him and Siggy and try and get Sterling in - but then almost same as mine.

    RMT and ill rate yours...

    Bego (Gilks)

Cahill - Debuchy - PvA (Ward, Bartley)

Eriksen - Silva - Ramsey - Young (Marney)

    Bony - Rooney - Costa

First draft without Siggy but my gut tells me Bony. Dzeko/Jovetic scare me for rotation with Negredo/Aguero. As an Arsenal fan, Giroud is really poor overall and i can see Sanogo/Sanchez getting some time as the lone forward.

Silva is Silva, not bothered about fixtures as he turns up for the big games consistently.

    Ward/PvA/Bartley rotating ofc.

Just really not liking Young and Marney, anyway to avoid the pair /alternatives?

    Cheers.

I'm afraid Young will not be a factor in in a couple weeks and at 5.5 there isn't much interchangeability if he finds himself on the bench. I do like Bony and waivered back and forth with him, but I had to go Giroud.

i took a punt on young as well. currently his direct replacements at wing back are hurt so he should be good for the first few games. then you can switch him out at 5.5 will a decent amount of alternatives - shelvey, mutch, ince, albrighton, etc that should put up some points as well.

for me i never liked silva. yes he is class but i think for the money you may be able to do a bit better. you could get some liverpool or man u exposure by grabbing sterling or mata. and if you were feeling leary about young you may be able to trade silva down and grab two decent mids by replacing young as well - barkley and herrera or puncheon and sterling, for example.

D looks solid. i like the PVA punt, though at 4.5 you could get a vlaar or cameron and have a bit more of a shot at a shutout.

i do you like your front line a lot. you should get some pretty good points out of them. given the fixtures rooney should be a lock in most people's teams for the first 6 odd weeks. i agree with the bony vs man city rotations - i chose him as well.

      here's mine. let me know.

      howard (guzan)

My requirements for a 4.5 mid are simple. He has to play regularly, not necessarily GW1, and be fairly secure from an early drop in price. Albrighton ticks all the boxes for me.

Was 10% before the injury. My thought process is that everyone who wants to get rid of him already has done, so he's relatively safe from a GW2 drop. Relatively, of course - some 4.5 might score a brace, in which case people will still offload him.

The majority of the old Albrighton/Tiote owners have moved to the likes of El Ahmadi - so his ownership is inflated. He's got to be a big risk of a price drop.

Thanks for your reply, interesting thoughts.

I already have Sterling so A above is not an option - Eriksen/Lamela it is. Was getting myself confused that I already had Speroni so was reluctant to double up on Palace def, but I don't. Ward is straight in there.

        Final team

        Mannone/Krul
        Caulker/Ward/Jones/Chambers/Hutton
        Eriksen/Mata/Fabregas/Sterling/Siggy
        Costa/Rooney/Bojan

Solid, but I would go Debuchy>Jones. Then you're ready.

Debuchy/Jones is a 50/50 call imo, wouldnt hang about long on it. Debuchy will play all season but Jones has more chance of CSs early season.

    A) PVA & Mutch (as 5th mid)
    B) Debuchy & Albrighton (as 5th mid)

      B) Think Debuchy will be whipping the balls into Girouds head this season, plus he looked very bright attacking wise in the community shield.

Even if Fletcher has a "great" season, he will probably still rack up considerably less points than a Dzeko/Giroud/Bony etc. I wouldnt rotate Siggy with him either if thats what your planning?

Main 2 reasons I like this over some other solutions ive come up with is the 0.5 in the bank and the fact that its basically 6 big hitters in terms of points per game.

Most other solutions ive come up with and seen only have 5 and those with 6 are usually ridiculously thin at the back. However, most likely whatever i choose will be ripped up within a few weeks!
