Welcome to our annual attempt to pick the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will shape up.

As usual many of  our last season predictions proved to be terrible.

Among the worst of our predictions was Mark’s assertion that Andreas Weimann would be the best differential and highest scoring budget forward in FPL and Paul’s belief that Roberto Soldado would finish the year as top Premier League goal scorer.

My forecast that Kolo Toure would be the best budget defender and Crystal Palace would be relegated proved equally embarrassing.

Applebonkers was also left with egg on his face by labelling Hull defender Curtis Davies as the worst signing of 2013/14, while Granville’s optimism that Iago Aspas would be the best differential in FPL was another of our top clangers.

There were some predictions we nailed, though. Evs correctly reckoned Southampton would overachieve, while Fulham would falter. Andy and Mark can also feel pleased for themselves for correctly naming Seamus Coleman as the best budget defender in FPL last season.

Hopefully we shall all do better with this series of predictions for the forthcoming Premier League campaign.

Should I get rid of Dzeko (but then have no Man City coverage) for a cheaper striker, and use the extra money to strengthen my defense?

    My squad is currently this:

    Krul - Elliot
    Terry - Ward - Chambers - Blackett - Bartley
    Hazard - Mata - Eriksen - Siggy - Marney
    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko

You don't get it do you?

Pulis was the reason Ward was a good pick. Did you watch Palace under Holloway?

Tactics/approach are likely to be initially very similar so I can't see it changing for a few weeks until a new guy has been found.

I believe a palace defender will still be a good choice. They will not be all over the place without pulis, they have played the pulis way most of last season and all of pre season

    Any advice?

    De Gea / Myhill
Filipe Luis / Wisdom / Ward / Ferdinand / Duff
    Sterling / Ramsey / Mata / Eriksen / Sigurdsson
    Rooney / Costa / Bojan

Gone for Siggy -> Bojan and Ward -> Ferdinand rotation?

    Evening gents,

    Thoughts on this team?

    DDG, Gilks
Cahill, Caulker, C Davies, Coloccini, Moore
    Mata, Fabregas, Sigurdsson, Puncheon, Ramsey
    Rooney, Bojan, Costa

Worried about lack of Liverpool/City coverage.

    Any feedback much appreciated. Cheers

Pulis to be sacked by CPL, Aston Villa plays a horrid season, Paul Lambert sacked, Pulis takes charge of the Villans and saves them from relegation.

I'd imagine any club near the bottom by October won't wait a second to sack their manager if Pulis is still available
