With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Kicking off today’s RMT discussion is Evs.

DDG, Gilks
Ward, Terry, N.Taylor, Wisdom, Bruce.
Ramsey, Mata, Fabregas, Sigurdson, Wanyama
Jovetic, Rooney, Costa.

A Chelsea defender is a must for Evs, should he downgrade Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and get a 6m Chelsea defender or downgrade Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to his team mate Aaron Ramsey to give himself 6.5m to spend.

Recently Tottenham’s Ben Davies had been ousted from his team, as again uncertainty with Danny Rose continues. Which is the best route into the Tottenham defence? Stevan Jovetic is a short term punt. Who should he replace him with should he fail to cement a place in Manchester City’s starting XI?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

I admire the Willian shout. Even as a liverpool fan I held him at various, largely unprofitable stages last season. He's obviously class but how much game time will he get now fabregas has arrived and the Egyptian lad is settled? Bit risky for 8m for me....

Is Chambers assured of starts in the long term? If not, then DEF could be a bit of an issue. And I still think that Eriksen is a better bet than Lamela, although as a DIFF player it could work. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

Terry pretty much nailed on and guaranteed goals. He'll be a permanent fixture for the season, so an investment.

Eriksen also, Lamela is way tooo punty and unproven in prem yet.

Final one im not sure, id go Costa Fab personally if you've enough.

I'm with you on the rotation for the cheapies, but I think that I always tend to try and get two in the back from some of the top teams rather than just one. That said, with Redknapp at QPR and Poyet's tightening at the back for SUN, it might work out...

    Ok. New permutation:

    Krul (Foster)
Rose Jones Cissokho (NTaylor van Aanholt)
    Eriksen Cabella Ramsey Mata Hazard
    Rooney Riviere (Ideye)

    Bank = 0.0 Formation = 3-5-2 (most weeks)

Been stuck on DEF between Cissokho and Ferdinand as well as Rose and another Spurs DEF (which I think will offer great value this season). I know that Cabella and Riviere aren't fancied much, but with Cabella on PEN and free kicks and the history of new NEW strikers going crazy their first season (Ba & Cisse), I think they've got great upside.

Thoughts and RMT? I'll return the favor (as much as I can)...

With Rose, I figure he's an easy switch to Davies if he nails down the spot. Could also go with Naughton at the moment and bank the .5 mil difference. And just thinking that the AVL backline could be much improved this season...

As for the offense, I totally understand. I've gone back and forth about getting another big hitter up front and shifting in a cheap MID, but for some reason I think that a 3-5-2 might be the formation to use this year...

I'd agree with KIP, having both Cabella and Riviere would be too much Newcastle for me so i would switch one of them.

I've got 5 in midfiled but with a 5.5m as the 5th to get a better front line.

Obviously the front line looks awesome, but is the cost too high for the rest of the squad? If you run out a 4-3-3 you're putting quite a bit of faith in a back line that could have some massive struggles (if some of them start at all...).

Dunno about Studge...he was obviously quality last season, and he's going to play week in week out in an attacking team, but a lot of his points were tied to Suarez, so 11.5's a lot of money to spend if he can't replicate his form without the bite-y one.

First few GWs, which would you rather have (granted neither are great):

    A) Ozil + Henderson + Pelle

    B) Gerrard + Mutch + Jovetic

Will have to start each week due to injuries. Squad options constrained as i'm in a draft league. i.e. beggars can't be choosers!

I think that's the issue. The options really get a lot better at 6.0, but I'm sure you're hoarding that .5 for somewhere else. It's the exact problem that I'm facing trying to get a good DEF at 5.0 (without sacrificing the 1.0 elsewhere). So maybe you're on to something here with Jagielka...

That's putting an awful lot of faith in Siggy and Arnautovic as well as a questionable defense. I get the appeal, though...and it does lend relatively well to early season changes as you could downgrade one big hitter and reinvest elsewhere pretty easily.

How about both? Go for Eriksen he has an easier run in plus he will get extra points for set pieces.

Last season sterling 132 from 2291 mins and Erik 132 from 1926 mins. And Spurs much better opening fixtures and 0.5 cheaper.

West Ham, last time I checked, only had defenders on injury list.

Not sure this is the top 5 of teams that will keep clean sheets, but I'd say:

      Chelsea, United, Spurs, Swansea, Arsenal.

That said, for FF purposes, Chelsea and United kind of scare me (rotation at Chelsea and injuries/formation for United)...

Any alternative to Clyne for £5m or less? I just don't rate Soton's clean sheet chances.

Sack off Foster for Elliot as then you will have 2 Newcastle gks. Ward needs changing because Pulis has left Palace. Cameron is a doubt for GW1. Hazard to Fabregas to free up funds. Upgrade the defensive line with the money. I like the look of £4.5m Chambers from Arsenal short term.

Bartley from Swansea. Swansea have slightly better chance of getting clean sheets.

Well balanced although this is the prob I had, you dont want points on the bench i.e. choosing between siggy and hendo. Maybe Erik and someone cheaper?
