This morning sees the return of that old favourite “Scout Scribbles”. We round up the most noteworthy of news or football rumours from the past 24 hours for your morning reading, with Spurs’ performance at MK Dons last night reminding us they have more than just one Croatian capable of making the headlines…

Nico Krancjar served a reminder of his talents last night in Tottenham’s 5-3 win at MK Dons. The Croatian played a part in 4 of his side’s goals, creating three and scoring one. Roman Pavlyuchenko grabbed Spurs’ opening two goals but Jermaine Defoe again struggled. Defoe, scorer of just 4 league goals last season, was given 75 minutes game time by Harry Redknapp last night but the England man failed to find the net again and has been linked with a move to Newcastle in this morning’s papers.

Nigel Reo Coker is set to follow Darren Pratley by moving to Bolton this summer. Signed by Villa for £8.5m four years ago, he will arrive at the Reebok on a free transfer and represents a savvy piece of business by Owen Coyle. He’ll offer plenty competition to a central midfield area that already has Stuart Holden, Fabrice Muamba and fellow new boy Pratley as the main contenders for a place in Coyle‘s starting line-up, though Reo-Coker is perhaps the most versatile of the four, and will offer Coyle options at right-back and right midfield. The Trotters boss has also been linked with a raid on former club Burnley for winger Chris Eagles and right-back Tyrone Mears, in addition to a move for Liverpool’s David N’Gog.

QPR have turned their attentions to Southampton’s Jason Puncheon as they look to boost the ranks at Loftus Road. Neil Warnock’s side have made a bid for the winger and offered centre-half Kaspars Gorkss in exchange. Puncheon spent last season on loan at Millwall and Blackpool and clearly has little future at St Mary’s, but Gorkss played a major part in helping QPR to last season’s Championship and a move away from the club at this stage will be something of a surprise. Ranked as the top QPR defender in our Members projections, such a move will see us readjust the figures accordingly.

Having missed out in the chase for Craig Gardner, Wolves are still very much in the market for a new central midfielder. Mick McCarthy has already snapped up Jamie O’Hara but has been linked with a loan move for Liverpool’s Jay Spearing and forgotten Man City man Michael Johnson. The club are also eyeing up Thomas Hitzlsperger, with the German a free agent after being released by West Ham following the club’s relegation last season.

West Brom look to be on the verge of signing a new keeper. With Scott Carson leaving the club this close season, Boaz Myhill is currently the number one but the Baggies have been strongly linked with both Robert Green and Ben Foster this summer. The club’s assistant manager Michael Appleton admitted last night

“Hopefully they’ll be one or two arrivals in the coming days…we’re at a stage where we’re nearer rather than further away from getting one or two in.”

Swansea have agreed a £1.75m fee with Middlesboro for Leroy Lita. The forward will travel to Wales to discuss personal terms later this week and follows Danny Graham in moving to the Liberty Stadium this summer. Brendan Rodgers’s 4-3-3 will offer only one of the pair a place in the starting line-up and with Graham being Swansea’s number one target this summer, Lita may well find himself warming the bench next term on more occasions than not.

Liverpool, it appears, are still in the market for Jose Enrique. The Newcastle left-back has just one year left on his contract but has fallen foul of the St James’ Park hierarchy of late, and was fined for criticising the club on twitter. With Enrique able to leave Newcastle for free next term, Kenny Dalglish is eyeing up a £5m bid.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I feel sorry for Niko - he's a really good player and hasn't really moaned about how much game time he got last season. I'd like to see him challenging Lennon for the right flank role.

Not really. Kranjcar can't play the same role that Modric did for Spurs last season, he doesn't work hard enough, nor is he physically strong enough.

    gents,
is this the favoured team template

    2x<6m keepers
    2x<6m,2x4.5-5.5,1x4m defenders
    2x10m+,2x10-6m,1x5.5-4m midfielders
    1x10m+,1x10-7m,1x<6m forwards

what i mean is every response to rmt is you need 2 dear defenders, 2 dear midfielders, 1 really expensive forward, etc

I would suggest its more along the lines of:

      maximum 9.5 on rotating keepers
1x 6.0 defender (we all know who), 1x 4.0 defender, 3x defenders for a total of 15.5 who rotate
      4x 6-6.5 midfielders
      1x 12 striker 1x 6/7 striker

This would leave you with 21 to get a mid and striker (so either big striker, medium mid or big mid medium striker)

          Don't forget Jenas.

Already I envisage a movie spion-off where "The Three Jermains!" find themselves in Mexico where a group of humble villagers mistake them for real footballers and ask them to play for their village team. They could have a trademark goal celebration dance that they never use.

In a dilemma... need some extra money and have silva in my team, still want man city coverage so is yaya worth his 8.0 pricetag? With Aguero there will he play deeper and not advance as much?

I'm going Aguero as long as Tevez leaves, he will be the main man.

With City for me its defence and a striker...

Silva is too much and yaya will get less chances to get forward with Aguero incoming - prob to play just behind the CF!

Aguero to City for 38 million, along with this 400 million stadium sponsorship deal is totally making a mockery of the fair play rules in relation to money. Someone was always going to try it, no problem with that, and City are the richest club so why not, but they HAVE to be slapped down or its totally pointless. Athletico wouldn't have got that money anywhere else, and who else could spend that much while still not having sold Tevez?

When you consider the other transfers taking place, 38 mill for Aguero is very reasonable IMO

Maybe, but its not going to leave them on the same footing as everyone else when you consider the outgoings and income of Man City....

I think Aguero will do very well

Advice tips on my team? (things i may not have considered)

          Given, Kenny,
Gibbs, Enrique (if at liv), Kompany, Simpson, Da Laet
VDV, Tchoyi, Benayoun (if a starter) Albrighton, O hara
          VP, Saurez, Bent

Sticking to a top front 3 tactic this season

Weak defence. Arsenals early fixtures are poo.
What will you do if Benayoun doesn't start?
What if enrique doesn't go to pool?
No chelsea coverage? i'd say u need at least a plan to get one in after villas boas establishes his tactics.

This is very similar to my current team - including the same front 3. I don't really see much value in the expensive midfielders so may as well go 3 big guns up top.

I'd probably change Gibbs (not easy first 3 games) for a Chelsea or Liverpool defender and downgrade O'Hara if cash needed.

It us more than likely that we will sign a new #1 keeper before kick off. Probably Lee Camp.
