This morning sees the return of that old favourite “Scout Scribbles”. We round up the most noteworthy of news or football rumours from the past 24 hours for your morning reading, with Spurs’ performance at MK Dons last night reminding us they have more than just one Croatian capable of making the headlines…

Nico Krancjar served a reminder of his talents last night in Tottenham’s 5-3 win at MK Dons. The Croatian played a part in 4 of his side’s goals, creating three and scoring one. Roman Pavlyuchenko grabbed Spurs’ opening two goals but Jermaine Defoe again struggled. Defoe, scorer of just 4 league goals last season, was given 75 minutes game time by Harry Redknapp last night but the England man failed to find the net again and has been linked with a move to Newcastle in this morning’s papers.

Nigel Reo Coker is set to follow Darren Pratley by moving to Bolton this summer. Signed by Villa for £8.5m four years ago, he will arrive at the Reebok on a free transfer and represents a savvy piece of business by Owen Coyle. He’ll offer plenty competition to a central midfield area that already has Stuart Holden, Fabrice Muamba and fellow new boy Pratley as the main contenders for a place in Coyle‘s starting line-up, though Reo-Coker is perhaps the most versatile of the four, and will offer Coyle options at right-back and right midfield. The Trotters boss has also been linked with a raid on former club Burnley for winger Chris Eagles and right-back Tyrone Mears, in addition to a move for Liverpool’s David N’Gog.

QPR have turned their attentions to Southampton’s Jason Puncheon as they look to boost the ranks at Loftus Road. Neil Warnock’s side have made a bid for the winger and offered centre-half Kaspars Gorkss in exchange. Puncheon spent last season on loan at Millwall and Blackpool and clearly has little future at St Mary’s, but Gorkss played a major part in helping QPR to last season’s Championship and a move away from the club at this stage will be something of a surprise. Ranked as the top QPR defender in our Members projections, such a move will see us readjust the figures accordingly.

Having missed out in the chase for Craig Gardner, Wolves are still very much in the market for a new central midfielder. Mick McCarthy has already snapped up Jamie O’Hara but has been linked with a loan move for Liverpool’s Jay Spearing and forgotten Man City man Michael Johnson. The club are also eyeing up Thomas Hitzlsperger, with the German a free agent after being released by West Ham following the club’s relegation last season.

West Brom look to be on the verge of signing a new keeper. With Scott Carson leaving the club this close season, Boaz Myhill is currently the number one but the Baggies have been strongly linked with both Robert Green and Ben Foster this summer. The club’s assistant manager Michael Appleton admitted last night

“Hopefully they’ll be one or two arrivals in the coming days…we’re at a stage where we’re nearer rather than further away from getting one or two in.”

Swansea have agreed a £1.75m fee with Middlesboro for Leroy Lita. The forward will travel to Wales to discuss personal terms later this week and follows Danny Graham in moving to the Liberty Stadium this summer. Brendan Rodgers’s 4-3-3 will offer only one of the pair a place in the starting line-up and with Graham being Swansea’s number one target this summer, Lita may well find himself warming the bench next term on more occasions than not.

Liverpool, it appears, are still in the market for Jose Enrique. The Newcastle left-back has just one year left on his contract but has fallen foul of the St James’ Park hierarchy of late, and was fined for criticising the club on twitter. With Enrique able to leave Newcastle for free next term, Kenny Dalglish is eyeing up a £5m bid.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

How overpriced are Midfielders this year…it’s crazy, especially Man U (Nani, Young etc)!

Having a real problem trying to balance the team out properly…so what do you reckon I’ve got 0.5 in the bank…I’m a bit worried about no arsenal coverage or VDV to mention a few names:-

    Given
    Enrique Kompany Jagielka
    Sinclair Malouda Silva N’Zogbia
    Holt Rooney Suarez

    Subs
    Ruddy
    Simpson
    O’Shea
    Dyer

    Many Thanks

Ivanovic may play for now, but the way Frank Acheampong chewed his ass up the other night, AVB had to have taken notice. Terry is favored but more expensive...

The formation was a new one for pre-season starting line up, a 4-2-3-1 with Lampard and Yury Zhirkov deeper but pushing forward in turn. The Israeli who was playing in the middle behind Drogba

Ok... So I think i've finally cracked it (for now) but please let me know your thoughts...

    Given, ruddy
    Cole, baines, kompany, hughes, simpson
    Lampard, n'zogbia, sinclair, taarabt, o'hara
    Suarez, odemwingie, holt

I know its a bit heavily weighted in defence, but all players seem to have good projections for next season.

    Thanks

how about some ManUtd in there? I think some cover on that front i essential. and probably in midfield. I personally feel nzog and lamps are a gamble at this moment.

he's not a gamble if you want someone to start and score reasonably.

He's a gamble if you want him to justify his price tag (which requires scoring magnificently)

Sorry, don't really like any of them, but each to his own. Vermaalen is a massive waste of money in my opinion, especially with Arsenal early fixtures..

If you want to spend that much on a def spend an extra £0.5m on Cashley, or the same on Evra.

Who else has malouda in their current squad but feels really awkward about it?

    Damn Chelsea!

    A) replace Malouda with ______________
    B) keep malouda, close eyes, and pray

If A, who to replace for the same price or less? (not vdv)

I have him currently, picked up 2 assists today too.

However, 10.5 is a lot for someone who doesnt take penalties.

If he starts every game i'm happy to pay 10.5 mil for him.

Problem isn't no penalties but rotation - per minute, he supplies the goods without the need for penalties. But if he doesn't get 90 minutes what's the use of that?

If he's only playing 60/90 mins on average, 10.5 mil is effectively 16mil.

Its a lot for someone who is a rotation risk too. Pay the extra for Lamps. I downgraded my defence (Cashley to Jagielka) in order to get Lamps in my midfield.

Personally i don't think lampard is worth it and neither is malouda unless he starts 90mins a game.

SO... Maybe it's worth avoiding chelsea despite fixtures.

Early last season I had torres because of liverpool's great fixtures... Big mistake

Of those, only nasri tempts me (and that's if fabregas does go)

Young - as much of a rotation risk than malouda imo

Yaya/ Silva - too often the pass before the assist... Which is a shame because i love silva's style of play.

Despite being one of wenger's favourites, nasri only played 2300 minutes last season...

Can someone please tell me... was this because of injury or rotation? Sorry, I have a bad memory!
