Arsenal and Tottenham were both rebuffed in their attempts to sign Southampton’s World Cup star Morgan Schneiderlin this summer and hanging on to the French midfielder has proven crucial to the Saints’ ascent under new boss Ronald Koeman.

The 10.7% of Fantasy Premier League managers who have backed Schneiderlin have seen a phenomenal return from the central midfielder, who has chalked up 29 points in his last three appearances, courtesy of a trio of goals and four bonus points.

In our next members’ article of the week, we turn to the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tables in order to assess Schneiderlin’s progress from the previous campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.

For the unfamiliar, these KPI tables are designed to use a series of key stats to allow our members to track form or changes in player performance. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics and comparing them over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain whether a player’s form has improved or declined. As mentioned in last summer’s introductory article, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

By comparing this season to last, we should be able to get an indication as to how he will be utilised in Koeman’s new-look side and determine whether his high points return so far could be sustainable. By also referencing the Comparison Tool and season totals, we get a better indication as to how he fared:

Why has the Sunderland defence been so shit this year?

Trying to decide between Mannone and Schmeichel...

Poyet trying to make them a more expressive club rather than eek out a point by scrapping at every inch and corner of the pitch. Reckon he's trying to take them to mid-table rather then enter into the season expecting a relegation battle, which in my opinion is folly, as their roster is pretty rubbish. They also have had dreadful opening fixtures, and if memory serves, not a single good home fixture yet.

Doing hazard to fab next gw I think. Hazard will be a fantasy powerhouse still as he has played in epl and on an attacking role. Fabregas unreal start. Just hope he can keep going

I hope they get to the same price so we can pick and choose between them with a FT as Hazard can be a season changer with 20 point GWs sometimes, like Villa at home haha.

    Morning DZ

bench dilemma ahead. Need to drop one of-

Di Maria Fabregas Siggy Sterling Ramsey
    Costa Rooney Naismith

Im pretty set on starting Naismith. So

    A Fabreagas
    B Ramsey
    C Sterling

    To the bench?

My current thinking is B, Ramsey

I have same dilemma and benching Naismith (at least as of now) RMT says Fab should be benched, but given his form i find it nearly impossible to bench him. Ramsey is my only other option.

B but sooner or later the real Villa will show their selves, what's the point in having a 9 m +player to bench , it's only Villa, but I also understand your cheapo in form 3rd forward ain't gonna get many better fixtures , A and C our the equation imo, Ramsey or Naismith

        Thoughts on this ?
        Mccarthy
        Clyne Moreno Bertrand
        Siggy Sterling Di Maria(v) Fab
        Welbeck Aguero (c) Costa
        Bego Hutton Boyd Moore
        * Captain and vice c right choices ?
*Double saints away + versus siggy not right ?
*Start Mccarthy whats to lose ?

One Saint away for me, drop in Hutton, you never know
McCarthy, cant decide. Not sure if QPR have better potential for clean sheet than Stoke even if home
          Ivan, no. you look fine.

Gotta have Fab, and then you would be silly to pick Haz alongside him with other better midfield options from other teams for variety and coverage.

Therefore, if you're going with three Chelsea, I would say B is your best option.

I would make the trade in order to upgrade Caulker, and imo only Bertrand, Shawcross, and Moreno would be, along with also having strong fixtures. The downside being that any of those 3 would be doubling up in my defense. Hopefully another candidate presents himself this weekend.

Is it the end of the line for this season's golden boy? Hasn't played against a defender the quality of Kompany all season. Continues to flirt with a hamstring pull and there's alway potential for a sending off as well. Nearly everyone calling him essential on the back of four games in which he's scored some very pedestrian thanks to shocking defending. Will be some fallout when he blanks or worse sees red. I wonder what everyone will say then? It will happen. He can't keep this pace up.

The same defence that could have conceded 4 tonight only for Harts heroics, 2 against Arsenal which could have been more, shaky against Liverpool and a poor Newcastle gave them a game.

City hav been unconvincing so far.

True. But Kompany can mark any forward out of the game on his day. And I don't see him getting any soft goals this week, which has been his MO. People going on and on about Di Maria's fluke results yet Costa has raked them in.

Bayern were missing some key player this morning (NZ time) too, could have been much worse for City.

Right now you're better off owning him than not owning him. Simply ride the form players, even better those with good fictures too.

I agree it will interesting to see him vs a 'good' defense and players like Komp who will give as good as they get. He will of course blank at some point of the season and peoples reactions will be panicked i recon. But hey, im a glass full kind of person. Lets imagine the reaction if he scores two this week

Think your right sooner or later the run has to end but not the end of the line, only worth transferring out if 3 match suspension or injury , worth keeping all season will be top overall scorer I think

And when he's sent off it will most definitely be a 3 match ban for violent conduct. Not being smug as I've missed out on lots of points mainly due to worry over his injuries so far. But he should've been sent off last week and could've been against Everton as well.

No your right about the sending off its inevitable , just get someone else in for the games his suspended for when it happens , he played quite a lot last season barely missed a game (so I'm told) I think even if he misses a few games through suspension will still be top fpl points scorer

                          It's just my opinion.

Chelsea look strong this year, and he is the focal point.

Falcao will not be a lone striker but I still think he'll contest with Costa.

No he's a good shout. It's just that he's had the rub of the green in every way so far. And football's a funny game. That can change quickly.

Seeing as the book makers have Costa at even odds to win the golden boot & the next closest is Aguero at 4½:1; I'd say they're pretty confident in that small sample size too...

                          Sturridge 12:1

You'd anticipate a fairly open game, given the results to date for both sides. I'm actually quite comfortable going in to this GW with both Aguero & Costa on field. I expect goals at the Etihad.

City's last 3 - loss/draw/loss in all comps. Their game against Chelsea this weekend almost becomes must-win, doesn't it?

Don't forget Mourinho likes nil-nil draws at the start of a season against rivals just hope it doesn't end up that way. They have a great advantage at the moment so City must be under some pressure to close the gap

You're right. If he blanks this week, I'll have to ditch him ASAP. I can't afford to have a striker in my team who doesn't score 2 goals every week.

So my differential players this week or Di Maria, Caulker, and Henderson.

Hope captain Rooney does the business.

My advice is, don't worry about it. Don't select an Arsenal defender, they've been out of sorts defensively so far this year.

Mertesacker has been particularly woeful. Arteta has been his usual, unathletic self.

                    Avoid at all costs imo.

They spent 16m on Chambers. If he's fit he will play ahead of Bellerin.

                      Huh?
Arsenal are in the Top 5 in most defensive categories.
Most impressively they've only conceded 9spg.
To not grab a nailed on £4.5mil defender in that backline would be missing out on some serious value.

Funny reading a few of the comments from earlier when Aguero was on the bench.

Owners saying it's good he's rested.

Non-owners saying he is being wrapped in cotton wool and isn't a good sign for the future.

Fwiw, I did predict Dzeko was gonna start alone up top and received mixed reviews 😉

No matter what a players name is if you own him in FPL and he is playing a competitive match that is not in the league it is a worry. Ramsey owners were probably just as happy when he got subbed off even though he looked like rubbish when he did play. It's all about avoiding injury in non-league games.

i honestly think pelle knew that even with aguero starting they were more than likely gunna get beaten by munich and decided to keep him fresh and ready for chelsea.. a game that even at this early stage is huge and much more important right now..

                  Baines[mun] - Rafael[EVE] - Chambers[che] - Duff[lei] - Hutton[MCY]

                  .
Worth getting Moore[BUR] instead of Hutton in my WC? I like Villa's defence a lot, but they have a shocking run of fixtures.
