The Weekend Team News

Seamus Coleman is expected to shrug off a knock as Everton entertain Palace. Ron Vlaar remains doubtful as Villa prepare for the visit of Arsenal. Danny Ings is ruled out of Burnley’s home clash with Sunderland, Jon Walters and Marko Arnautovic are doubts as Stoke travel to QPR, while Martin Skrtel is back as Liverpool roll up to West Ham.

Seamus Coleman was forced off with a knock in Everton’s win over Wolfsburg last night but Roberto Martinez is confident the right-back will recover in time for Sunday’s visit of Palace.

Callum Chambers has recovered from the illness that forced him out of the XI to face Dortmund, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. Mathieu Flamini is also available, whilst Jack Wilshere “is okay” after picking up an ankle problem during the 2-0 defeat. The Gunners boss has also revealed Mathieu Debuchy will be out for a minimum of six weeks with an ankle injury, though could be sidelined for three months if he requires surgery.

Jon Walters (calf) and Marko Arnautovic (foot) are both concerns for Stoke’s trip to QPR, Mark Hughes has confirmed. The former has only just returned to training after picking up a knock, though Stephen Ireland is pushing for a recall after recovering from a rib problem.

Harry Redknapp has revealed QPR have “a few knocks” ahead of the home clash against Stoke. Joey Barton (hamstring) and Jordon Mutch (knock) will continue to be assessed, though Adel Taarabt is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Ronald Koeman has revealed new signing Sadio Mane has finally received a work permit and will arrive in Southampton tomorrow, though is unlikely to be ready in time to face QPR. Shane Long has recovered from the knock that forced him off against Newcastle last weekend.

Danny Ings has been ruled out of Burnley’s home clash with sunderland this weekend, with manager Sean Dyche refusing to put a timescale on his return. Matty Taylor is unavailable for the second successive Gameweeks and joins long-term absentee Sam Vokes on the sidelines.

Villa skipper Ron Vlaar remains a major doubt for the visit of Arsenal due to a calf complaint. Christian Benteke has returned to light training but is believed to be weeks away from a return to first-team action as Paul Lambert looks to protect his star striker. Joe Cole is also back in training, though is “a little bit behind on fitness levels”, according to his manager.

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to recover from the minor knee problem that saw him miss last weekend’s trip to Stoke, while Matty James is also in contention after recovering from injury to feature for the Under-21s on Monday.

Martin Skrtel is back for Liverpool’s trip to West Ham, though Joe Allen is out “for a few weeks”, according to Brendan Rodgers. The Reds boss expects Daniel Sturridge to return to training next week, though young Jon Flanagan is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed he has the same squad that travelled to Hull on Monday, an indication that Joey O’Brien will miss out again as the Hammers play host to Liverpool.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Plays very high up the pitch.

      Consequently will get no CSs.

Might get good attacking returns with Sturridge back.

Ya I like how attacking he is, Manquillo could be good option at 0.6 cheaper but his place seems less secure

I agree. i think Mignolet is main problem, he gives everyone around him nervous thus affecting their play in general. They should go for Victor Valdes who is a free agent at the moment

Hello lads I have GK dilemma 🙁

    have Mannone and Myhil(dead stock)

    I want Forster

    A) swap for Mannone
    B) -4 swap Myhil+someone to Forster to someone cheaper
but who is replacable from my team?

    TERRY-Chambers-Hutton-Wisdom-Moore
    Fabs-Sterling-Siggy-DiMaria-Albrighton
    Costa-Rooney-BONY

leaning to ship out TERRY or BONY ..

what about Forster (my keeper) and McCarthy who will play, but that's not worth -4

So with the goals WBA has been conceding at home (strangely they´ve kept their only CS in the St. Marys Stadium) do you think they will try to close all doors this GW in order to at least concede less once they don´t score since GW1?

There's not been a lot of positivity about Arsenal's defence recently. Am I wrong in thinking a 4.5m Arsenal defender is an absolute bargain? With the Debuchy injury, I'm eyeing Chambers up over Stoke and Liverpool defenders.

If Chambers is nailed on, a 4.5 Arsenal def is always a bargain. They will end the year with around 12 clean sheets and even the best defences will only get to about 19 clean sheets tops. That's not the craziest difference and most top teams won't even hit 15 CS's. Can't go wrong at 4.5.
Arsenal have ok fixtures, although TOT and CHE aren't great games for a cs

I would say it has been negativity not positivity.
The only reasons to get chambers is because of:
      1 price
      2 playing villa (defensive team)

    7. Narcissist
      • 11 Years

He's a solid pick. Nothing better in that price bracket. I wouldn't have him as a starter week in week out but he fits in my rotation.

I got him week 1 thinking I'd take him out soon after but Arsenal are that thin defensively that he seems worth keeping.

It's a tough one to call, Tinkerman. On the surface, he sounds absolutely bargainous.

But if they don't keep any more clean sheets than any other 4.5 priced defender, then all you've done is taken up an Arsenal spot.

So many injuries at the back, such poor defensive performances. I need to see some evidence of them turning that around before he's any better than PVA, Taylor, Wilson et al

And this touches upon the only thing that's made me hesitate - the use of an Arsenal spot. Soon I'll probably want 3 of Ramsey, Walcott, Welbeck, Sanchez, Chambers...

It's prioritising that's the issue for me.

I'll let form and fixtures dictate whether or not that's true - certainly wasn't last year when Sterling/Sturridge/Suarez were all firing.

S&S&G last year wouldn't have been.

If the team are scoring enough goals, it doesn't matter. You might get a bad week here and there but those players can each score well enough independently to score well over an 8 week period.

If Lukaku was guarenteed to start I would captain him, but with the game last night I'm concered that he will begin on the bench. He may not be in great form but I think he's due a couple.

Any Everton fans got a better idea of what his chances of starting are?

yes you can bench the priciest defender. If you think naismith will score against a terrible west brom defence pick him.
But if you think that Jose will suddenly start going defensive pick Ivan.

Naismith the man to play in my view

Tricky isn't it? I'd keep Naismith active and put Ivanovic in the reserves personally.

Assuming the Scottish referendum ends in a no vote. I think it might have an affect on the Scottish players performances. Does anyone know their political leanings?

I am thinking that Naismith is a definite no man because he played for Rangers so there will be extra zip in his play as a still proud British man.
Surely this increases his case as a captains pick? 😉

Need a bit of advice on my team lads please :

      Starting XI Speroni,

      Terry, Caulker, Fonte,

      Ramsey, Fabregas, Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Silva

      Rooney, Jovetic

Subs : Myhill, Jovetic, Dummett, Bruce.

Haver 2 free transfers available this week.

Need to try get in Costa and Di Maria but will need to sacrafice two mids due to price.

Or Maybe Chadli in mid for Silva

Hernandez (Hull up top) for Jovetic

      Need Costa though surely..

What you think guys ? Who to be captain too ??

get rid of Jov (though you appear to have cloned him.

Silva has better 3 week fix's than Chadli but is what 2.9 more, there's Di Maria money.
