When Fantasy Premier League (FPL) opened its doors a couple of weeks ago, we weren’t far behind. Fantasy Football Scout got the ball rolling on our Head to Head leagues for the 2011/12 season by creating another two more and asked you all to stick your names in the hat for entry.

You kindly responded in your droves and after many man hours of wading through the entries, and a glamorous draw which took place on Saturday morning, we have had over 60 new leagues places to hand out to the lucky few recipients of our draw. The results (click to enlarge) and final figures on the nine Head to Head leagues (new entries highlighted) are as follows…

As you can see from the graphic above, there was at least one extra place in all of our leagues – be it from people dropping out or not claiming their spot in time. Firstly, if you see your name highlighted in that peach melba colour then you should have already received an email response to that which you entered with your respective league codes – if not, then whizz me over an email and I’ll sort things out for you.

Impressive Tackle and Back on the horse are the healthiest recipients who have jumped all the way up to FFS H2H 1 thanks to having the superior ranking of all our draw winners – Impressive Tackle finished a mind-bending 14th in the world last year.

Gooner Dave wasn’t far behind so takes up the single space left in FFS H2H 2. Four new managers get to take on Fantasy Football Scout head honcho Mark in FFS H2H 3 – Have they got what it takes to beat “The Scout”? I’m sure they’ll relish the challenge.

LawnDart jumps right into FFS H2H 4 on his own while FFS H2H 5 sees three new managers get to compete with Fantasy Football Scout super scribe Sir Paulos, podcast jockey Granville and differential destroyer (and my main rival) Big Dunc – without doubt the most Scout heavy Head to Head league.

Our Stateside Scout Da Beeeez is joined by three new faces in FFS H2H 6 with guiness416, Heisenberg and pompeyfan getting a jump up into our league structure.

FFS H2H 7 was our bottom league last season so sees a fair few new faces join its ranks thanks to a whole load of relegations – our comment-board regulars will perhaps recognise the likes of Johnny Unitas, Horizontal and RaspingDrive in amongst the qualifiers.

Scout business brain El Fozzie is heading up FFS H2H 8 (the first of two new leagues which has nineteen new faces) – Greeny was the best ranked manager of this bunch at a very respectable 17,284th place last season.

Certainly, 17,284th is more than I could have ever hoped for, which perhaps explains why I am heading up FFS H2H 9 – or what I am now dubbing “The Underachievers”. You will notice plenty of recognisable faces from long time caller Pasqualinho to King Nil Miss with a certain Westfield Irons inbetween. The Irons are the team managed by none other than Jon Reeson, winner of the whole 2009/10 FPL campaign and Marks’ Radio companion. Last season saw Jon struggle to keep up appearances following his banner year but is back ahead of the 2011/12 season and will undoubtedly have 19 Head to Head rivals eager for the victory scalp of an ex-FPL champion.

For those of you needing a reminder of how our promotion/relegation works then have a gander at the following graphic and work out just where you need to finish to survive and/or prosper.

This, of course, indicates that we know we need to cater for many more than just the 180 managers in our Head to Head leagues above. So without further ado we also christen the opening of the Fantasy Football Scout Reserve League (code: 759-148560).

If you were unfortunate enough to not have your name pulled out of the hat in the draw/got relegated/left it too late to claim your place then the Reserve League is open to anyone wanting to enter. Your league code (759-148560) should allow you the chance for 38 Fantasy Football Scout endorsed Head to Head fixtures and the shot at promotion into the aforementioned structure – just make sure your team finishes in the top 45 places and then keep your eyes peeled the following summer if you do.

Stick around for sporadic League updates through the season whenever we can squeeze them in, I’ll hopefully have a short graphic based one up in the early September international break and our first comprehensive movers and shakers report in the following October break.

Congratulations to our 60+ draw winners. Get joining our Reserve League if you’re not in on the action. I’m going for a stiff Ribena, am glad all that work is almost over until next summer. Good luck. Except to those in League Nine- I need all the help I can get in that one.

Yeah but don't know where! I mean Malouda, and Silva maybe but that's more than I can afford with that team.

May just keep it in the bank for bandwagon jumping. Or do Ruddy to Foster and A.Cole to Baines. leaves me with no Man City or Chelsea attacking coverage though

We are dealing with similar issues, City & Chelsea attack! Only players I really fancy having are Malouda & Silva but their prices are the issue and in really thinking of going massive up front even tho I know it's not the done thing. Can't seem to make that compromise but I do think banking some is smart.

Yeah I could drop A.Cole/Baines and get a front line of Rooney, RVP, Aguero/Torres. The aguero decision would be made easier if Tevez left!

Aguero will play regardless but obviously his influence maybe left with Carlos around.

Ideally you (well me anyway) want an attacking player from Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, City & Liverpool, initially I suppose u don't need one from each but it just doesn't seem doable without a weak defence, it's a toughy!

                Rooney, Malouda, RVP, Aguero/Silva, Downing/Caroll

Same apart from Suarez for Liverpool, he's definetly in my side when fit, he'll be a bargain at 9.5m. The main thing for me is theirs not striker under 10m I want in my side at the beginning thus we me thinking about the 3 big guns option.

Dont rate Gyan or Sunderlands fixtures really. Zamora I've still not forgiven for the DGW last season 😉 if I'm gonna go for a cheapie Id probably go more risky and go for Graham or Holt and hope their teams enjoy the usual promoted team early good form.

          Hi Atilla,

At the minute, I am toying with three teams, current team is a -

          a) Given, Ruddy
          Baines, Kompany, Orr, Simpson, Bramble
          Malouda, N'Zogbia, Sinclair, Moses, Taarabt
          Suarez, RVP, Zamora

          b) is the same as A but with lampard and Augero instead of RVP and Malouda.

          C) Kenny, Moiera
A Cole, Kompany, Briggs, Simpson, Bramble
          Malouda, N'Zogbia, Taarabt, Moses, Sinclair
          RVP, Aguero, Zamora

So a few ideas moving around my noggin at the moment mate.

I like to get players I think will increase in value. C will be my team if Suarez is not going to play in the first game I think...

Both sides are fairly solid, though Suarez is unlikely to start the season so maybe rethink him.
            Currently I have

            Foster, Given
            Clichy, Kompany, Bramble, Simpson, Orr
N'Zogbia, Sessegnon, Marveaux (maybe Cabaye), Moses, Anderson
            Rooney, Torres, Aguero.
1.5 in bank to get RVP

Chelsea fans do not have anymore clue than the rest of us.

I personally think that Luiz, being one of the best defenders in Portugal up until January this year and costing Chelsea +£20million, will start under AVB. It's mostly a gut call but it just wouldn't seem right for him to be on the bench.

Only his involvement in the Copa America is causing some doubt for myself.

    Hmm...

I've read on here that people feel Nani's a rotation risk? I had him locked into my team until I read this a couple of times...

With that in mind, I'm leaning more towards VDV...

It also sounds like Silva's in some good form, but does Yaya Toure's price balance the two of them out? Or do you feel Silva is the lock in with the possible trump Forward set up of Tevez & Aguero

Nani is a risk with Valencia and Young competing. Flip a coin, which is what you don't want to be doing first thing in the season.

I don't think Yaya will have the same effect and advanced positioning this season. Silva is looking in fine fettle.

i thought the same about yaya but after watching that inter match i got to disagree. Although he did not look as sharp as silva (expected due to injury) he did still make runs into the box.

I think he be a worry if and when mancini gets another midfielder.

I won't be excited about it until Charlotte Jackson tells me it's confirmed. Then I'll be really excited.

Only 13.6% of current teams include RVP. That seems extremely low considering his ridiculous scoring rate last season.

That being said, fixtures aren't great. I'm thinking of going for Torres as a big punt with 1m spare to get RVP in as soon as he scores a hat trick vs Newcastle 🙂

I would not want to be going into that GW1 fixture without RVP personally.

After that it's a month until he plays Swansea, plenty of time to injure himself.

He has an injury pencilled in for the England v Holland friendly. Seriously though I would say that is a definite concern.

My initial plan was to take a punt on a big gun for the first 3 gameweeks until RVP's fixtures became an option but I'm getting worried about price rises. Engineering a team to have .5m left over is difficult, not impossible but it's so tempting to use your whole budget.

Soup, are you still planning on having Ireland? I just think the cheap option is the wise one with Villa, since we have no idea how they will operate or how good they are going to be. I can seriously see Zog flopping and Bent going cold in the good fixtures.

Bent will not go cold. Nzog could flop.
But one thing is for sure, stephen Ireland will not start banging in goals

I'll more than likely be going with either him or Albrighton. McLeish has been bigging up all pre-season. Don't like N'Zogbia at Villa at all, will have a lot more competition for bonus. For 10m I want a captain option and Bent isn't that considering he rarely gets over 6 imo.

I think saying Bent and N'Zog won't do much and it's wise getting Ireland is just yourself trying to convince yourself that's the right call.

I'd rather have Bent, Albrighton and N'Zogbia before Ireland.

I guess to me Villa just seems like they have as much potential to be awful as they do to be good. The only reason I really want any of them is for fixtures, and because that's the only reason, I just think the cheapest nailed on offensive starter makes sense.

I don't even want to say getting Ireland is wise...I just think getting the cheapest offensive player is wise. I just really wonder how the Zog will do in a setup not built around him, and Bent is REALLY cold when he is cold.

The worst thing about internationals just as the season starts is that people can't wait to make their transfers so those of us that want to wait get forced into making early ones to catch the price rises 🙁
