A pair of assists and two bonus points in Swanseaโ€™s home draw with Newcastle elevated Gylfi Sigurdsson to the top of the midfield standings in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game at the end of Gameweek 7. With 46 points accrued, the Icelandic international is second only to Diego Costa overall and, having started the season at just 6.0, heโ€™s now climbed in cost to 6.8 โ€“ his rise in price of 0.8 is greater than any other player so far.

Averaging 6.6 points per appearance under Garry Monk, Sigurdsson has been snapped up by over 44% of FPL managers as he seamlessly settles back into life at the Liberty. Indeed, Sigurdssonโ€™s Fantasy exploits have so far exceeded his displays from 2011/2, where, under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, he served up seven goals, five assists and 11 bonus points in 18 appearances โ€“ averaging 5.7 points per match.

As the transfers in continue to pick up pace over the international break, we compare his displays over the two periods to assess his impact since returning to Wales.

    Everyone has the same team atm, but it's still quite possible to create an entire team composed almost entirely of differentials that's still pretty decent:

      Mannone--Guzan almost everyone going for them now...Many people getting Sanchez in as well...Siggy, Costa quite template..with Rooney gone many people got Falcao in...Mane also in some teams here...Hazard also is somewhat common...

      the only differential I see is Tomkins...

        Costa and Siggy are the only two players that I think are essential so I had to put them in. I consider the rest to be differentials, they all have less than 15% ownership, most have less than 10% ownership.

      nice and a bit different, though I don't like Alexis in the long run after Wally and Rambo return. For GK I'd say Foster/Guzan is a good pairing. So you are rotating between Siggy and Bera?

          I don't really like rotating players in the front 7. Since Berahino is on pens you might rest him for a tough fixture, only to find he scores a pen. Risky and I think money can be better spend elsewhere.

      You're in the same position as a lot of us, you gotta lose either Pelle or Fabregas I suppose, though if it were me, I'd probably swap Falcao for Welbeck leaving you plenty of funds.

        Yeah... Difficult decision, pelle has two home fixtures, fabs always gets an assist and would loose money on him and falcao seems to be pickimg up the form...

        It probably has to be falcao then...

      Yep looks good. Balotelli is an issue though, but he could do okay against QPR (as could Ulloa against Newcastle).

      Alternatively, you could do Mata to ADM and Lovren to Baines, then Ulloa and Balo to Welbeck and Pelle next week.
