Gameweek 8

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What are people doing with Costa? Waiting?

I bought him at 10.5 so I'm in no hurry to ditch him. Bench can cover for a week if needed. Anything more than a week and I would look at other options

I didn't catch that game, but his stats look wonderful from it. Still happy to have welcomed him into my bunch this week. My team page needed some more claret in it anyways 🙂

I brought him in thinking he's a solid option with some good fixtures. Also covers for Costa for a week if necessary

I agree. He was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect day (along with Costa not playing).

Welbeck(c), Tadic, Fabregas, Clyne, Krul, Pelle totalled 72 points, and then Downing got a massive 2!

    Any news on Lampard?

I am tempted to make him my 5th utility mid.

    Ivanovic > Baines
    Sterling > Lampard
    Ulloa > Aguero

0.1 ITB for -4. Keeping hold of Costa.

Can I wait on these moves, I totally relied on TotalFPL last year for accurate rises, it seems tonight at least Aguero or Baines are not rising for example?

Had used my free trade to transfer Dier to Baines about 24 hours ago. On my home from cricket with 1 minute to go before cutoff as I remembered I hadn't looked at bench.

Pulled over car and just got baines onto pitch and PvA onto bech (phew!), but then realised Costa(c) and Ulloa(v) wasn't a good idea. Ran out of time to make Fabs(v).

Should I be glass half full (got Baines points in) or glass half empty (get 1 for captain instead of 8)?

I am happy enough to get Baines points although kicking myself for not checking earlier!

Only 7 points lost while getting Baines on for PvA saved you 17 points so look at it as a net win.

Yeah - would have been really dirty to trade him in and not get his points from the 2nd spot on the bench.

    Foster (Mannone)
    Baines Bertrand Chambers (Wisdom Moore)
    ADM Sterling Tadic Siggy (Boyd)
    Aguero Costa Welbeck

Would love to get Pelle in but don't see a way.

    WC or not?

Already did Schneiderlin, Chester, PVA -----> Baines, Moore, Cork

If Aguero is essential, I could do Hazard, Ivanovic, Ulloa -----> Aguero, Milner, Jagielka...

    My team atm:

    Krul, Foster
    Baines, Bertrand, Ivan, (Moore, Hutton)
    Sterling, Siggy, Hazard, ADM, Cork
    Diego Costa, Pelle, Ulloa

Help or advice is much appreciated!!!

Hey guys, would really appreciate some advice as I've been a bit switched off from FFS today.

What moves should I make, and when? Is there anything I need to do tonight before players change price? I'm thinking of acquiring Baines for Taylor or Lovren tomorrow, and perhaps Barkley for Downing, any other solutions welcome! 🙂

    Krul (Begovic)
    Clyne Lovren Taylor (Chambers, Wisdom)
    Siggy Tadic Sterling Fabregas (Downing)
    Costa Pelle Welbeck

Yeah I saw the highlights. Looked good. But I can't complain with 29 points from Pelle and Welbeck(c) either. I don't really feel the need to replace Welbeck right now as I think I have the ideal front 3, so would rather bring Baines in, and perhaps Ivanovic as well - which would still allow me to do Downing>Barkley

Worked out that NOT doing Costa ----- Aguero for -4 last night cost me 22 points. At 2.45 today was ready to turn my back on this game for the weekend but 86 points later and 4 more players tomorrow I gotta say that the buzz in this game really has been brought back.

Same here. This GW was probably the most disinterested I've been all season, but 74 points with 4 to play has catapulted me to 33k and given me renewed faith in what I'm doing. For a few weeks of mediocre scores I felt like I was just bumping along with poor scores and without any reward for my research and sticking with players like Tadic! 🙂

    With this team:

    Bego (Gilks)
Baines | Clyne | (Duff, Caulker, PvA)
    Sterling | AdM | Hazard | Siggy | (Marney)
    Costa | Pelle | Welbz

    I have 1.5 ITB & 1 FT

Now I know getting Caulker out is a priority, but it seems I have two ways to stab at this.

    1) Costa > Aguero straight swap if injury is devastating (exact funds)
    or numero dos
    2) Caulker & PvA > Luis & Chambers

Thoughts on these or other moves gents?

      • 11 Years

Sanchez will keep producing. Wally will be eased in, & AR can only benefit his output.
      I'm highly considering a swap of Hazard/AdM --> Alexis
Every game he's played in full, he's scored/assisted (apart from Chelsea). Now w/ this confidence boost & w/ these easy fixtures, he may as well be of the t3 mids come the end of the season.

I'll be joining you behind the couch during that United game as well - if there is one week for AdM to blank please let this be the one! So much more at stake as I'm sure loads who captained costa have him as vice. One time Baggies!!!!

As a United fan living in NZ it would be easier for me to just sleep through the game. Bit too conflicted.

Indeed. Apparently authorities are looking into it.

Or if not they should be anyway.

two goals were literally walked into the goal by sunderland player. 4 of the goals there was zero man marking at all and the last goal that was completely ridiculous where the keeper passed it straigh to the opposition.

Is fplstatistics still the most accurate for rises? Which one is most accurate for drops?

          http://fantasyfootballfix.com

You have to sign up but its free.

There is also a way to view it without giving your FPL details. On the bottom of the page I think.

Ok dudes I made a massive mistake choosing Azpi over Baines, which I only did in order to save -4pts. Question is this (Azpi out obviously):

Coleman straight swap (exactly the right money so can't delay)

    OR

    Baines + GK downgrade -4pts

    ?

Well, I was planning on getting Azpi in the next few weeks. Might be a good idea for gw12.
Anyway... I'd go for Baines. Being on pens and fks/corners means his odds of attacking returns will always be good.
Who would you downgrade from/to in order to finince the Baines move?

To get Baines I need to make an extra sub (I have 6.9m for this position!)

So Coleman is free, but Baines costs.

I was thinking Begovic --> Guzan

      Azpi is a good pick...
