I just noticed Cattermole has picked up his fifth yellow last night. Shouldn't he be suspended for next match. (He is not flagged on FPL)

Do people realise how silly it is when they say "He's got double figures 3 games in a row now, surely he won't get double figures next week too"?

That's like saying someone is unlikely to do well because they're in great form...

    1. Walsh

I guess not 🙁 It's just people who have missed some massive hauls and trying to convince themselves in an irrational and illogical way that the points won't continue. Oh well. You'd think though that as one would be typing it they would realize the folly of their ways.

Of course. I wasn't specifically talking about Sanchez btw.

On the topic of him though, when you watch Arsenal play you can see that Sanchez is in unbelievable form and the stats back that up too. I think non-owners should get him now and look to get rid if there is enough evidence of an upcoming regression both in terms of stats and actual performances.

The rules of probability says it is a totally different event so the dice roll is unaffected by previous events. The laws of football say that he is in form. The law of FFSers over-analyse everything 😉

Pretty much although a typical example would be where the odds are constant and someone thinks the probabilities are less when the odds in fact stay the same. I would say however that in the FPL situation that the previous results do actually have some bearing in the sense that they give a glimpse into the actuality of the changing odds, meaning that if these double point hauls have been against weaker teams etc. the odds of them continuing in the future against stauncher opposition will be lower. So the previous results shouldn't be ignored entirely as they do provide some picture of whether the "pay-off" will continue

    8. Jumpers For Goalposts

There is some truth in this saying though in regards to most team sports if the in-form player and most influential player is man-marked/tagged by the opposition. I think this happened with Fabregas vs Aston Villa where he was man-marked throughout the match and produced no assists and this subsequently allowed Oscar freedom in the middle to do more damage. I think Mourinho mentioned this in the post game interview. So Sanchez will now be the focus of most teams pre-game defence strategy, teams will be watching videos of him to try and work him out etc etc therefore his form may not continue. This would then allow someone else on Arsenal to have more space up front of course.
I do have a feeling though that Sanchez could out-muscle and out-run any man-marking on him though. He just seems unstoppable atm.
(I am a Sanchez owner btw)

    My team is;
    DDG (Mannone)
    Bertrand Ivanovic Gibbs (Bardsley, Hutton)
    Sanchez Cesc Siggy Diame (Jedinak)
    Ulloa Pelle Aguero

Could do with getting Jedinak out but thinking I might need to make an -8point deduction. Any suggestions????

the serious FPL players are getting rid or have got rid. There are alot of factors in selling Sterling.

Warning sign #1 - no personal form
Warning sign #2 - no team form, and no signs of this changing
Warning sign #3 - being sold en masse, big price drops
Warning sign #4 - potential replacements all hitting form, and rising price
Warning sign #5 - Chelsea up next. More or less guaranteed limited to zero returns

Perfect storm. Keep if you want, but you will suffer long term.

    How to get Sanchez in?

    A) Bego, Tadic, Sterling -> Foster, Downing, Sanchez (-8) (don't particularly like the hit or getting rid of Tadic before Leicester at home).
    B) Costa, Sterling -> Pelle, Sanchez (-4) (always frightening taking Costa out but Pelle could score loads).

Its a hard one. The thing is I believe there are plenty of good defensive options but few solid GKer options. Bit of a 50/50 call though.

Just need to vent my frustration at the continuing Sanchez price march, missed out on the transfer by about 2 minutes tonight!

    Thoughts on my mid?

Barkley (6.7) ADM Fab Siggy (6.4) Sterling (8.5)

    2FT Need help.

    Help a brother out?

I keep flip flopping on a decision... Siggy > Downing (-4)
Just can't see Siggy doing anything for another 2 GW's at least but Downing is in great form with good fixtures. Is it worthwhile??

    Yay or Nay?

I see Swans maybe scoring 1 goal between the 2 fixtures but that he won't necessarily take part in it. Downing seems a good bet to get some spoils over the next 2.

I bought Siggy at £6m too.

over thinking it imo. their prospects in the next two aren't that much different and after that i much prefer sig. Factor in the minus points and the wasted trades if you want him back and it is a no brainer for me

I'd been pondering this same switch, but I have decided to save my transfer and just pray the out of form and ridiculously poor looking Welbeck pulls a rabbit out of his hat and does something at Swansea. I'd rather have the added flexibility of two frees going into the international break and lose Welbeck at that point if nothing else more pressing crops up.

Evening guys, this is the current team (with 2FT and £1.5m ITB):

    Forster (Elliot)
    Baines, Cahill, Naylor (Wilson, Hutton)
    Fabregas, Sterling, Tadic, Sigurdsson (Marney)
    Aguero, Pelle, Welbeck

Am pondering Baines, Tadic, Sterling > Saylor, Sanchez, ADM (-4), even though losing Baines is a bit rubbish, but thinking the midfield upgrades would be worth it! Alternatives though could be getting just one of Sanchez or ADM this week and downgrading a cheaper DF (Wilson or Hutton)

Any thoughts on what to do?
