Who to play?
Cameron (TOT A)
Duff (HUL H)
Dummett (WBA A)Duff
Duff
I just noticed Cattermole has picked up his fifth yellow last night. Shouldn't he be suspended for next match. (He is not flagged on FPL)
Im wondering the same thing..
I'm not. Who cares? He is in fact banned for the next game, though.
4.8% and 13.8% in FPL and UFPL respectively care
I'm sorry but I'd have to have a laugh at anyone who owns him in any fantasy league with exception to maybe a who can get the most cards and accrue the most fouls fantasy league.
I wouldn't mind owning him as my 5th mid tbh...
I would.
I do agree, but people who own him to be just a filler in UFPL [myself 😉 ] can't get rid and might need him the coming GW
Do people realise how silly it is when they say "He's got double figures 3 games in a row now, surely he won't get double figures next week too"?
That's like saying someone is unlikely to do well because they're in great form...I guess not 🙁 It's just people who have missed some massive hauls and trying to convince themselves in an irrational and illogical way that the points won't continue. Oh well. You'd think though that as one would be typing it they would realize the folly of their ways.
Mmm you're correct, it's all about non-owners trying to convince themselves that a good stretch of form won't continue.
yeah it is a classic cognitive bias. Failures of reason like that facinate me and the ff community is so full of them for some reason
+45
Well, he can't continue going at this rate forever. His form will have to drop soon.
Of COURSE he will not keep getting double digit games week in week out...that is insane....but he will still score extremely well....
I know. But I understand where people are coming from..
Of course. I wasn't specifically talking about Sanchez btw.
On the topic of him though, when you watch Arsenal play you can see that Sanchez is in unbelievable form and the stats back that up too. I think non-owners should get him now and look to get rid if there is enough evidence of an upcoming regression both in terms of stats and actual performances.
The rules of probability says it is a totally different event so the dice roll is unaffected by previous events. The laws of football say that he is in form. The law of FFSers over-analyse everything 😉
Very true 🙂
Hmm yeah its a bit silly and tbh I'd be just as concerned if he gets high single digit scores too if I was a non owner.
I just got him in but I've accepted the fact that despite he will be in good form, he can't possibly keep up getting double figures points. I've definitely missed his hauls.
Nice rank btw Inns
I still think there are hauls to come. They may not happen next week or the week after, but with hunger and talent goals are pretty much inevitable.
Cheers bud.His stats do back that up.
I was dumbstruck by a comment last week by a thread about how he was just lucky to get the goals against Sunderland!!
True they were from Sund mistakes but I liked his opportunism. Shows his hunger. His work rate is wonderful. He creates his own luck. He's just a terrific player.
Exactly.
He was lucky no two ways about it. I'm an owner now but the fact is most defenders and goal keepers can handle pressure put on them by strikers.
Gambler's Fallacy.
Pretty much although a typical example would be where the odds are constant and someone thinks the probabilities are less when the odds in fact stay the same. I would say however that in the FPL situation that the previous results do actually have some bearing in the sense that they give a glimpse into the actuality of the changing odds, meaning that if these double point hauls have been against weaker teams etc. the odds of them continuing in the future against stauncher opposition will be lower. So the previous results shouldn't be ignored entirely as they do provide some picture of whether the "pay-off" will continue
There is some truth in this saying though in regards to most team sports if the in-form player and most influential player is man-marked/tagged by the opposition. I think this happened with Fabregas vs Aston Villa where he was man-marked throughout the match and produced no assists and this subsequently allowed Oscar freedom in the middle to do more damage. I think Mourinho mentioned this in the post game interview. So Sanchez will now be the focus of most teams pre-game defence strategy, teams will be watching videos of him to try and work him out etc etc therefore his form may not continue. This would then allow someone else on Arsenal to have more space up front of course.
I do have a feeling though that Sanchez could out-muscle and out-run any man-marking on him though. He just seems unstoppable atm.
(I am a Sanchez owner btw)One word - Yaya 🙂
Any suggestions for next GW?
My team is;
DDG (Mannone)
Bertrand Ivanovic Gibbs (Bardsley, Hutton)
Sanchez Cesc Siggy Diame (Jedinak)
Ulloa Pelle Aguero
Could do with getting Jedinak out but thinking I might need to make an -8point deduction. Any suggestions????I'd find a way for Ulloa to leave your team first
2 FTs
Sterling -> Sanchez
Siggy -> Chadli
Yay?
Pelle to Bony on the cards in few GWsYes, jealous that you can do those transfers easily 😉 :p
😉
They look good.
Cool
Ulloa -> Berahino/Sakho/Austin/Fletcher.
Oops - reply to Youngpretender above.
I like Austin from that lot though I currently have Berahino (who will rise in price again very shortly).
Novel idea, but who's planning to keep Sterling? While pool have looked out of form recently their fixtures really do pick up following this week and Sterling still looks their main threat with Sturridge out.
I'm getting rid, getting him back soon though at a cheaper price 😉
I'd say anyone planning to keep Sterling are keeping to themselves right now and lurking these forums. It's simply a mad idea and only good if you don't want to do well in FPL.
funny this
He was owned by 60% of fpl players 2 weeks ago. He hasn't gotten that bad that quickly.
the serious FPL players are getting rid or have got rid. There are alot of factors in selling Sterling.
Warning sign #1 - no personal form
Warning sign #2 - no team form, and no signs of this changing
Warning sign #3 - being sold en masse, big price drops
Warning sign #4 - potential replacements all hitting form, and rising price
Warning sign #5 - Chelsea up next. More or less guaranteed limited to zero returns
Perfect storm. Keep if you want, but you will suffer long term.
thinking about the C for this week - Pelle at home where he cant stop scoring.
anyone else thinking a slight differential? Many options this week. Virtually all of Southampton, D.Costa, Aguero, Di Maria, Rooney, Sanchez.
Fun season
I am making the unpopular decison to keep Sterling and not get ADM.
So am i mental or #Balls?I'm doing the exact transfer you are going against, we will know who's right soon enough
Mental 😆
made the transfer of my life last week , just cant see that working twice in a roll.
This!
once United players work out how to get on the end of ADM crosses / free kicks, he's going to really rack up the points.
im not letting him (ADM) go as United's fixtures aren't badI agree, the only reason I am considering droping sterling is because I want di maria, tough decison ahead of me imo( not everyone agrees)
Neither Sterling or ADM are great options at the moment IMO. I'm holding on ADM because I want to see how he gets on out wide. Hasn't been as influential so far.
2 very average games, but he was doing really well against the smaller teams, And i dont like that 3 of his assists were actually shots and 1 of his goals was actually a cross.
Exactly, he's been extremely lucky so far and that kind of luck shouldn't be expected to continue.
Really re: AdM, Ryan? I think harsh and premature to judge him in away to City with ten men for a spell to boot off the back of playing the eventual champions, Chelsea.....
They are low in confidence and have Arsenal soon. Its a good time to hold and see how he gets on. Don't let his luck convince you he's a must have.
Hm yeah, that is sensible indeed. Enjoy his haul against Palace though...fully expect United to put up 3+ goals in that game.
How to get Sanchez in?
A) Bego, Tadic, Sterling -> Foster, Downing, Sanchez (-8) (don't particularly like the hit or getting rid of Tadic before Leicester at home).
B) Costa, Sterling -> Pelle, Sanchez (-4) (always frightening taking Costa out but Pelle could score loads).out of the 2 B but neither are ideal
There are literally no other ways to get him - would you save transfer instead? Very happy with my team apart from Sterling, Bego and the lack of Sanchez.
nope sanchez is pretty important but dont know if he is worth a -8 on the other hand pelle could out score costa so i guess go fo it.
Well I could get rid of ADM but I'd rather not do that either.
Neither.
In regards to A you don't need the trade of Bego > Foster so that saves a -4. Still don't like it though.ne probably needs the money
I do.
Thanks for the advice guys...I'll keep thinking...it's either gonna be B, or I'll save and wait for Theo's return.
transfers done..wish me luck lads..
.....................Guzan
...........Hutton - Baines - Chambers
Sanchez - Di Maria (c) - Fabregas - Downing
............Costa - Aguero - Berahino
Gilks; Moore, Marney, YunWhat were your transfers?
Clyne + Siggy + Sterling > Yun + Downing + Sanchez for -4
Don't like Clyne out but solid overall.
me neither but it was him or Costa
You still taking hits I see Sinik! Would have held onto Clyne another 2 weeks myself.
I've been very calm this season, this is only my 4th hit this season..
I too would have liked to keep Clyne too, but he made the most sense out between him, Baines, Cesc, ADM, Costa and AgueroThat it does.
Almost same as mine except for PVA instead of Clyne
looks good, got Yun myself
Fabianski (Krul)
Coleman, Clyne, Jagielka, ( Dawson, Schlupp)
ADM, Chadli, Downing, Tadic (Diame)
Pelle, Berahino, Costa
I like the 3 4 3 but this weeks match up all look favorable to my squad please help what should I do
Should I go 4 4 2 who should I drop?A Wally start against Swansea folks?
I think he will start GW12
No chance. He will be eased in over a number of weeks.
Extremely unlikely.
20 mins if he is lucky...no, might start tomorrow though. Depends what happens with England
Risers: Wisdom, Forster, Sanchez
Fallers: Whelan, Terry, Henderson, McAleny, Podolski, Ulloa, Atsu, BlancoYes! 2 risers and no fallers 😀
Forster, nice. I've got a tough decision whether to keep him or Clyne in a few weeks.
I would get of Forster, Clyne has possible attacking returns even if conceded a goal or two
*get rid of Forster
Yeah I'm currently leaning that way.
Why it´s only two though fixtures?
Not sure it´s really worth using a transfer on a keeper..
Its a hard one. The thing is I believe there are plenty of good defensive options but few solid GKer options. Bit of a 50/50 call though.
Yeah that's true. I'm eyeing up Forster > Adrian... I've had Clyne since GW1, it's early to say but I might keep him for the season.
im keeping forster and seling clyne. had clyne since gw1 and got forster at 5.0
Wisdom! Ejaley
Just need to vent my frustration at the continuing Sanchez price march, missed out on the transfer by about 2 minutes tonight!
Thoughts on my mid?
Barkley (6.7) ADM Fab Siggy (6.4) Sterling (8.5)
2FT Need help.Help a brother out?
I keep flip flopping on a decision... Siggy > Downing (-4)
Just can't see Siggy doing anything for another 2 GW's at least but Downing is in great form with good fixtures. Is it worthwhile??
Yay or Nay?Nay.
Personally I think Swans will score against Arsenal. And Siggy could well be involved. Arsenal defense not very solid without Kosc.
Ok. Seems unanimous.
I'll keep my powder dry.I keeping him mostly because of the fixtures after the next two.
..And because I got him at 6.0
Do you see Arsenal/City keeping a CS against Swansea? If you do, then get rid. If you don't then keep Siggy.
I see Swans maybe scoring 1 goal between the 2 fixtures but that he won't necessarily take part in it. Downing seems a good bet to get some spoils over the next 2.
I bought Siggy at £6m too.over thinking it imo. their prospects in the next two aren't that much different and after that i much prefer sig. Factor in the minus points and the wasted trades if you want him back and it is a no brainer for me
I'd do it for an FT but not a hit.
nay way jose
Walsh, do you play UFPL ?
I do not, mate.
you should, been noticing your analysis of the game, I can see you doing well in it
Thanks bruv, appreciate it! Perhaps I will give it a spin next year. This is only my second year playing FPL as it is so wanted to focus on it this year.
good luck, hope to see you there next season
The captain king continues!
Captain score as % of your highest possible captain score 81.74%Impressive. Captain next week?
😉
I won't copy, I already know mine 😀
Kun
Ok. I just played my WC for A-league Fantasy. Any must haves?
What do you guys think about Welbeck to Sakho if fit ? predictions for WHU vs Villa?
I'd been pondering this same switch, but I have decided to save my transfer and just pray the out of form and ridiculously poor looking Welbeck pulls a rabbit out of his hat and does something at Swansea. I'd rather have the added flexibility of two frees going into the international break and lose Welbeck at that point if nothing else more pressing crops up.
Is it worth taking a hit(-4) to flip Oscar for Tadic this week?
Not for me
Fabianski (Krul)
Coleman, Clyne, Jagielka, ( Dawson, Schlupp)
ADM, Chadli, Downing, Tadic (Diame)
Pelle, Berahino, Costa
I like the 3 4 3 but this weeks match up all look favorable to my squad please help what should I do
Should I go 4 4 2 who should I drop?this is why i would never spread my budget around.. too many points on the bench whatever you do. Anyway, probably got it right.
I made that mistake last week had dawson krul and downing on the bench !
I'm making the same mistake on my ESPN league as well. Would you keep the 3 4 3 and bench who I have benched ?yea
Any Swans (or anyone for that matter) enlighten me on Ki's form? I'm looking at a potential trade for him in my draft game...Adebayor and Lallana for Oscar and Ki,
Dont.
Oscar has more value than the other two..I have the former (Ade and Lallana) so hence the potential change.
Ah!
Snap it.Does that translate as go for it?!
Yes.
Adebayor has CAN…one more plus.Went for it and got a resounding no! Worth the go I guess.
my first Sanchez rise 🙄
hope he brings in more than just 0.1m on my sell value this weekend..Welcome to the club, Sinik. His rises have been very enjoyable and very frequent.
even if Sanchez scores, I'll feel a lot better if Leicester scores too
Next 4 gws:
Sanchez and 6.2m FOR (Sakho)
or
6.7m MID (Chadli) and Rooney
Team linked
Thoughts?S&S
Some might call me crazy, but Boyd (HUL) over Siggy (ARS) this week?
Crazy.
Nah...
Why on earth?
You do know Siggy is the 3th highest scoring mid?
Siggy will get you 2 to 5 boyd will get you 0 to 2
Gentlemen...first post,I've been lurking n Learning....would appreciate any help.
At present:
Howard
Ivanovic,Bertrand,Baines
Sterling,Gerrard,Sanchez,Henderson
Pelle,Crouch,Berahino
I'm thinking of dropping Hendo or Stevie G...but for who?
Thanks all!Get Downing and Austin For Crouch
Thanks,I'll take a look...
ooo my what a liverpool fan we have got here 😀
That obvious Snikii?..just worried about Gerrard with the Chelsea game coming up
you havnt learnt too much mate if you have 3 liverpool midfielders
Sadly, have to agree with you Burglar
i would be looking to get rid of both hendo and stevie g tbh mate have u any money in the bank?
I just drooped Hendo for downing...got 1.1 in the bank...I agree,Stevie next to go...
Anyone fancy Charlie Austin as a differential up front?
0.7% ownership, 5.7, 44pts, Last 5: 6,13,5,2,6o/
Starting to find his feet now and got pretty decent fixtures, so i'd say he's a good differential pick, definitely
this
not in the slightest
yep already got him.
did sterling, siggy, welbeck to sanchez, downing, austin (-4)Tough to prefer him to Sakho all things considered, but he has earned consideration for sure. He's been bright.
I guess he may be an option for those with downing in the mids who are uncomfortable doubling up on hammers attack
Maybe after City.
Evening guys, this is the current team (with 2FT and £1.5m ITB):
Forster (Elliot)
Baines, Cahill, Naylor (Wilson, Hutton)
Fabregas, Sterling, Tadic, Sigurdsson (Marney)
Aguero, Pelle, Welbeck
Am pondering Baines, Tadic, Sterling > Saylor, Sanchez, ADM (-4), even though losing Baines is a bit rubbish, but thinking the midfield upgrades would be worth it! Alternatives though could be getting just one of Sanchez or ADM this week and downgrading a cheaper DF (Wilson or Hutton)
Any thoughts on what to do?Gents,
Sanchez and Boyd > Barkley and Sterling?
Thanksyou own sanchez and boyd?
No, I meant are they better than, I'm looking to ditch Sterling
yes, unless you plan to play boyd...
