There was just a wafer-thin point separating myself and Granville in Gameweek 11, despite my rivals decision to ignore the force of nature that is Alexis Sanchez.

In a svelte but packed episode of the ScoutCast, my co-host and I discuss the Chilean’s “essential†charms and pile praise on the reborn Stewart Downing and the new, reliable Leighton Baines v2.

Around the usual regulars, we drop in on some old favourites, as Aleks Kolarov discovers new methods of running Granville’s Gameweek and I somehow manufacture a way of snuggling under the Van Persie duvet. We also carry on nudging the Harry Kane-wagon, run our teams through the Gargatron computer and go on “Warnock Watch†once more.

Squeeze into this episode out via this link or sample its tautness via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I would absolutely love it if I could have a first-to-three on this!

In a draft league, would you rather keep

    Gerrard or Ramsey?

Gerrard's place is secure. Arsenal have too many options in midfield imo

He's not getting minutes, doesn't have set pieces, and Sanchez has the limelight though. And worse fixtures. But guess there is still something making people say him

Gerrard is struggling at DM though. Although I remember reading something about Gerrard moving back higher up the pitch and having a word with Rodgers about it. Can't find it though...

    Falling Stars

Earlier today, during a quiet time, I put it to the boards that for this weeks "Falling Stars" post I would invite posters to submit their efforts with a view to using one of the teams/squads submitted instead of my own for this GW.

I got a few more replies than I expected.

I initially said I would put it to the vote to choose one...however...On reflection one team was submitted from a poster who tries to uncover punts for members on a weekly basis, through regular articles, and it would only seem fair that this weeks team should be the team selected by that poster...Arvin Ation

I will of course work out the scores of all the other teams submitted and reveal a mini league at the "Falling Stars update" after the close of the GW.

I shall post Arvin Ations "Falling Stars" team after Friday pressers...Sound fair ?

i'm gonna go ahead and say it. Sig to downing is a classic case of points chasing. Selling a surperior player with better points potential for last weeks star under the justification of fixtures when that changes in just two weeks. Work out it might but make sense it does not.

Downing looks decent value crossing the ball into Sakho and Valencia and West Ham look very attacking. If you need that cash elsewhere it may be a good option but I agree I would rather keep Siggy if money is no option

I don't agree. I think Siggy and Swansea in general have looked a bit off the boil in recent weeks. West Ham have been playing much more positive football and have many more goals in them in my opinion. Downing at the tip of the diamond has looked wonderful and I think he's a better option plain and simple not to mention the difference in price. He came very close to a goal in that game against City to boot before he just had his double digit explosion.

Siggy: 10 shots, 6 inside the area, 25 chances created.
Downing: 24 shots, 10 inside the area, 28 chances created.

It is interesting, because Siggy has been a solid goalscorer in season's past, but he's not getting the opportunities you'd like. Although he did have the ball through on goal at least twice in the last 3 weeks but a poor touch and amazing tackle from Liam Moore stopped him from making an attempt. I think they're essentially equivalent picks, but if you're funding a Sanchez/Di Maria, it makes sense. You can always get Siggy back in a couple weeks.

sorry champ but downing is bossing him this year stats wise, same points, 1m cheaper, kinder fixtures and in a team scoring more goals. I would agree Siggy is the better player but that doesnt mean anything. in the same way that RVP is a better striker than berahino....

Get rid of Sterling. He's no good until Sturridge is back.

I'd go for Tadic in your position

I feel a bit ill. Aguero is the scariest and Sterling needs to go.

You know what? I am gonna go absolutely bonkers this week, what the hell!

I don't wanna lose Tadic for Downing to enable me to get Baines.

    So here it is...

    Moreno > Baines
    Welbeck > Kane

    - 4

    Done.

Lets get on that Kane-wagon before it takes off! 😆

    Berahino - Aguero - Kane

    For the win! 😆

Considering Welbeck to Sakho for a free this week

He's got to be? Right? Foolishness by Pochettino to ignore him in the league now, clearly their in-form striker.

        My thoughts as well.

Allows me to bring Sanchez in as well, and my be a nice wee differential if he continues his form / get the opportunity..

Very big risk and you will be sweating the announcement of that team sheet like none other. Ade rested, it will be a choice of whether or not he will play Kane or Ade as I don't think that team should line up with two strikers at all. If it affords you Alexis it may be a risk worth taking though if you think that is the best place to find funds in your squad.
