There was just a wafer-thin point separating myself and Granville in Gameweek 11, despite my rivals decision to ignore the force of nature that is Alexis Sanchez.

In a svelte but packed episode of the ScoutCast, my co-host and I discuss the Chilean’s “essential” charms and pile praise on the reborn Stewart Downing and the new, reliable Leighton Baines v2.

Around the usual regulars, we drop in on some old favourites, as Aleks Kolarov discovers new methods of running Granville’s Gameweek and I somehow manufacture a way of snuggling under the Van Persie duvet. We also carry on nudging the Harry Kane-wagon, run our teams through the Gargatron computer and go on “Warnock Watch” once more.

Squeeze into this episode out via this link or sample its tautness via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If you had to pick a team based on all the games played thus far, not looking forward, what would it be?

    Mine would be

    Forster
    Baines Coleman Clyne
    Adm Fab Haz Sanchez
    Costa Kun Pelle

An for everyone who asks, yes I would put ivan above coleman but remember only three from each team

Almost same as yours. Downing instead of Hazard imo OR Bertrand as 4th defender in 4-3-3 🙂

nice I'd agree with that, mine isn't solely based on stats, also players that I like and form from what I've seen when i've watched games. How are you shaping up this far?

If considering favoritism, I will switch to 3-5-2 and add likes of Tadic/Silva 😉
Well not good enough. This is my first season and FPL is quiet tough as compared to ESPN fantasy which I played last year. Some stupid punts, bad captaincy picks and I was sitting around 2.3m in GW4. Though, have made decent progress since then and currently on 300k... What about you?

yea I'm around the same, had a rough start, the team is starting to shape up but I'm languishing around 282k. I wouldn't regret the stupid punts or bad captaincy picks tho because flip the coin and they come up heads then you're away and laughing. Keep making those picks and trust your gut, thats what I'm going to do at least haha

My bad captaincy picks were really bad 😆 I got 1st goal from my captain in GW7(Aguero's hatty) 😀
Austin is my punt for coming weeks 😛

I don't really like the question though because I DO think about fixtures a lot.

For example right now I am thinking of going big with west ham players. if newcastle had a decent attacking option I'd be on them too.

The big failures are manchester united whose fixtures were very easy and aren't anywhere to be seen in the dream team.

    Please make my decision easier

    A. Naismith and sterling -> Sahko and Chadli for free

    B. Naismith, sterling and begovic -> Pele and downing, foster for -4

    C. Welbeck, sterling and begovic -> Sahko and Sanchez, pantilimon for -4

    D. Naismith, Welbeck sterling -> Pelle sahko and Chadli -4

    My team as is...
    Krul - Begovic
Clyne -Chambers- Baines - Wisdom -hutton
Sterling -Fabregas -Tadic - ADM- Marney
    Aguero - Naismith - Welbeck

Would obviously play Krul if I got pantilimon or a 4.0 keeper
    thanks

If you go C can you not do begovic to pantilimon and just do it for free because I would do that, but if not C anyway

If that were my team I'd bite the bullet and sell Bego, Sterling, Naismith and Welbeck. No idea how much money that leaves you but maybe you can make your team more current with the dish.

Nice, i'm from Singapore but out of the country at the moment. Would offer to buy you a welcome drink otherwise!

Marina Bay, Clarke Quay, Orchard Road, Universal Studio are the usual tourist magnets. But it's all about the food in sg!

Chicken rice, chilli crab, laksa, char kway teow (fried egg noodles), bak chor mee (minced pork noodles), etc etc. Plenty of famous hawker centers to visit that have all that in one place. Newton Food Centre is easily accessibly for most parts.

To the united supporters out there: Has Di Maria looked out of form since being shunted to the wing, or is his recent lack of danger down to playing against Man City and Chelsea in his last 2 games?

Just trying to gauge how worth while it'd be to take a couple of hits to get him in this week considering his aforementioned 'form' and that united are playing Arsenal after the break as well.

I've had an idea for a 2nd team minileague where you must have 10million in the bank at all times.

It'd be fun to pick all the value players and see how big you'd be willing to go for a captain option.

    Think it'd be fun?

My friends and I play a similar game. You can't play any superstar players. No players over a certain price and can't captain the same player twice in a row

I have a team like that myself. Players must be less than 5% ownership. Problem is: as the player grows in popularity, what then? On the other hand, it shows you have hindsight in selecting the player i guess 🙂

Stats wise, there is no better individual option than Kun for captaincy.

However, City's form is putting me off Kun a little. But then I think of the players they have and they definitely do have the quality to turn their form around at any time, at any game, at any ground. Plus they do have a winning mentality.

Different case from Liverpool where you really struggle to think of anyone who can turn their fortunes around at the moment. The only player who could lift them is crocked.

    Grasping at straws?

Pello would be nuts to bench Aguero given his team's 'crisis of confidence'.

Abit of a shot in the foot. He knows better than to rest his players and bring them on if they need him....I reckon he will go for the win and then take Aguero off. The best managers do this - Fergie, Ancelotti, Jose.

Can't say the same for Rodgers, Pardew, Moyes who pretty much do the opposite. Disrespectful to the opposition too.

Charlie Austin as alternative to Berahino & Sakho? I think Fantasy Genius brought Austin in, and I mocked him. He might be onto something though...

I'm playing around with my ticker and notice QPR have the following games from GW 13-21. This covers the very so difficult Festive Season where fixture comes fast and furious, with rotation galore.

    LEIC/swans/BURN/eve/WBA/ars/CPAL/SWA/burn

That's not bad at all. Who would not like playing the 3 of the 4 bottom teams around you? Doing well in those games could make a big difference to QPR's league position.

WHAM have good fixtures GW 13-21(Except GW 18 & 19) as well, but Downing is an alternative option to WHAM. Nothing like that at QPR. Austin is their main man, on penalties and he seems to be in form with 3 goals and an assist in his last 3 games.

    Speak to me.

I like him as an option. QPR's form on the rise, and he has penalties + he isn't just coming back from injury and has some nice fixtures + isn't under threat from another striker and is their main forward.

I probably would've got him in over Sakho had I not done my transfers early and in haste to beat the price rises.

QPR/Austin have very nice fixtures over the Festive Season though.

Only 1% ownership, nailed on, penalties.

Equal with Sakho/Berahino over the last 4 weeks in terms of goals with 3(and none of them were penalties) Two of Bera's goals were penalties.

Leads Sakho/Berahino over the last 4 in terms of goal attempts(Sakho played one game less though)

OK all, to add some fun to the international break, I've decided to start up a new league. Scoring starts in gw12 after international break.

    Name: Rainy Day League

    Rules:

    1. *** You must have at least 10 million in the bank at all times***

    2. It must be a *new team*. Perhaps this may be your "girlfriend's team" - I would never recommend multiple accounts 😉

    League code: 104815-709859

I think this league will be fun, forcing us to go for cheaper options and creating real dilemmas when it comes to buying expensive captains or maintaining team balance.

First schoolboy error - I made the league with my real account. First bit of admin is to disqualify myself from the league. 😆

    Morning lads,
Quick question would you start Chambers away to Swansea or Barkley away to Sunderland?
A bit worried about the Europa hangover for Everton players and already fielding two in defence
    Team at the moment
    Lloris
    Chambers, Coleman, Clyne, Baines
    Downing, Oscar, Tadic
    Pelle, Aguero, Sakho
    Subs: McCarthy, Barkley, Eriksen, Dummett
I don't have a gut feeling for this week so used form to decide...any thoughts are highly appreciated

      I'd play Eriksen

Eriksen played last night and after giving me a grand total score of 0 last week he is on his way out... Thank you though

Barkley. There was no hangover after their last Europa game. Wasn't it 3-1 away to Burnley? Barkley rested too.

I am taking a hit this or next week, in a good cause. The question is which scenario should I follow.

    (1) take a hit now for Siggy ➡ ADM move for a hit. Meaning that I'll probably need to skip Aguero, unless I decide to sacrifise Costa for the Argentinian.

    (2) leave it this week and do Clyne & Welbeck ➡ Yun & Aguero for a hit next week. Meaning that I lose Clyne and have no chance for having ADM in my team.

    Which scenario then..?
    Thanks 🙂

Hit for Kun captain may be worth it

      Pelle (c)

Kun in this week would require -8, so no thanks

Phew.. Atleast Clyne rose. made a 0.1 profit on my WC team.. now just gotta wait for Chambers to rise(possible), Wanyama to rise(looks unlikely) and Adm to fall(looks very unlikely) to get my perfect team.. sigh. wish i'd played it on Saturday night instead of sunday 🙁
