Our Friday lunchtime regular arrives once again, as we analyse the PlayON Player Price List ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. Below we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON this week announced that they will be running a £100 Freeroll Game each week exclusively for followers of their @playon Twitter account – to get free entry into the game just follow @playon here.

PlayON also has £1,750 in other Guaranteed Pots on offer this week – £1,000 in their Weekly game and £250 in each of their Daily games – you can enter any of the Guaranteed Pots here.

Goalkeeper – Asmir Begovic
The Stoke stopper has not enjoyed the strongest start to the season, with just two clean sheets to his name thus far. A home encounter with Burnley this weekend offers Begovic (6.7m) a chance to serve up the points before the fixture list turns against Mark Hughes’ side and, given that the visitors have scored in just one of their five road trips so far, the Potters will be confident of a Britannia shut-out. Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois is another keeper who has struggled for returns over the opening 11 Gameweeks. Coming in at £8.2m, he’s the cheapest defensive starter amongst Jose Mourinho’s regulars and faces a West Brom side that have mustered just three goals away from the Hawthorns this term.

Defender – Martin Demichelis
Man City’s defence hasn’t been too impressive of late, with a 2-2 draw at QPR in Gameweek 11 indicative of the form which has harvested just a couple of clean sheets in the last 10 rounds of fixtures. In spite of Vincent Kompany’s likely absence, the Argentine could still be one to consider at home to Swansea, though; Garry Monk’s side that have scored just once in their last three away fixtures. Crucially, the recent additions to the PlayON Scoring Matrix should benefit Demichelis, with clearances, interceptions and tackles providing points opportunities. A Newcastle defender won’t be an essential pick many times this season but the form of Daryl Janmaat cannot be overlooked. The Dutchman created both goals against West Brom last time around and, at a price of just 7.0m in PlayON, could be excellent value as the Magpies look for a fourth clean sheet in five against an R’s side that has scored just twice away from Loftus Road.

Midfielder – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Like City’s Demichelis, the updated PlayON Scoring Matrix should benefit the Arsenal flier, with his ability to intercept and tackle an important trait in what’s bound to be a frantic match against Man United. A headed goal in the midweek international against Scotland, allied with eight chances created in his last two league performances, demonstrates Oxlade-Chamberlain’s improving displays in the final third. Available for 8.8m, he’s also much kinder on your budget than other options such as Santi Cazorla (11.1m) and Aaron Ramsey (11.8m) and looks likely to earn the role on the right again, with Theo Walcott unlikely to feature. League leaders Chelsea look likely to prosper at home to a West Brom side that has conceded twice in four of the last five Gameweeks. While Cesc Fabregas (13.4) and Eden Hazard (13.7) are the obvious picks, their lofty valuations see us turn our attentions to Oscar for the first time this season – the Brazilian comes in at 11.5m, and, with three goals and an assist in his last six, has form on his side.

Forward – Ayoze Perez
Despite scoring in each of the last three Gameweeks, the Newcastle frontman remains at a very budget-friendly 7.2m ahead of a home encounter with QPR. Perez’ goal-getting displays look set to keep Papiss Cisse warming the Magpies bench and bearing in mind the visitors have yet to register a shut-out on their travels, he’ll fancy his chances of delivering once again. Elsewhere up front, there are two stand-out candidates for the essential pick this week. Sergio Aguero (15m) and Diego Costa (14.9m) have fixtures that cry out for their inclusion but it’s difficult to accommodate both at those prices. As the Chelsea midfielders currently afford us stronger options than Man City, we’ve gone for Aguero over Costa as the champions welcome Swansea to the Etihad.

With quite a few hits possibly flying around this week would it be a wise move to save my transfer and sit back and let the bench do it's job?

    Krul
    Clyne Chambers Baines*
    Downing* Sachez Fabregas* Siggy
    Costa Pelle Aguero

    Gilks Boyd Hutton Wisdom

Was set on saving the transfer and having 2 to sort out Fab and Pelle if they get booked. If I was to sell Baines and Downing I would only want them straight back. Thoughts? 1 free transfer and 0.4 in the bank.

I think you're good to save. You'd be really unlucky if all three of the flagged players didn't play and presumably you are sitting on significant profit too?

Yeah I got Baines at 6.9, see no reason to buy him back at 7.3 or whatever he is in a weeks time

City and Spurs away in the next 4 and flagged. He wont be anywhere near 7.3 any time soon.

How would you improve this lot?

    Krul / Mannone
    Baines / Bertrand / Moore / Wilson / N.Taylor
    Boyd / Sanchez / ADM / Albrighton / Chadli
    Aguero / Costa / Pelle

1 FT 0.0M in the bank

    Wilson ----> Yun/Dummett is what I'm on.

    Any better suggestions?

        Cheers mate.

Somehow tempted to save FT and ride my luck with Baines/Moore, so that I can do Pelle + Albrighton ----> Austin + Siggy next week for free.

Decent moves alright for next week. Hard to say though but I really don't think they'll play. That being said, whoever you get in might only get a 1/2 pointer anyways so maybe worth holding onto.

Messed up my midfield last week to fit in Sanchez and played Boyd.

Happy enough to play him this week too.

Plan is to do Pelle + Albrighton ----> Austin + Siggy next week.

Any UFPL players about? How are you planning on dealing with injuries?

I've not made any loans so far, and this is true for most of the other teams I've looked at. Now as my injuries are piling up, I'm starting to consider it more seriously for the next couple of month's fixtures, but struggling to convince myself of the real value with such a large squad to rely on.

      11 years, 1 month ago

haven't done any loans yet. am sitting around 800 OR. was in the top 200 for a while but no Baines, Sanchez and lack of Saints has punished me.

I am actually doing ok injury wise, have only had 2 or 3 out at any one time.

loans could pay off for the next month though as you say, esp with the big run of fixtures

I'm on 3 red and 5 yellow at the moment. Fabregas and Baines would be he biggest blows for me this week.

I can *just* sustain this level, but many more would make life hard. It's also players like Welbeck and Lamela, who I think will be serious rotation problems over the next month, that make me think 20 points over 4 games to get in some guaranteed starters and viable captain options on different days could pay off. Risks are big though, I've spot checked a few teams, and barely found anyone for whom they've paid off overall yet.

I solve it by loans most of the times, but they can end up being quite costly.

It can help a lot, I managed to bring in Sanchez and Baines via loans, which helped me immensely.

It's a bit of a lottery at the end of the day, as it is always better to do the 4 week loan, but you need to be lucky in predicting who scores well and then there are injuries...

Loans are also good if you want to get players, who weren't really popular at the begging of the season and get some differentials (Sakho as an example)

Yep - it's the 4 week loans I'm looking at. For which as you say, I think you need to be a bit lucky - if you're taking out a non-injured player there's always the chance they have one storming week in those 4 games. But when the fixtures fall just right it looks to make good sense - for instance bringing in a Swansea player for 4 weeks from next week could be solid.

          Yeah, I agree

I had my ups and downs with that one, brought in Ozil just before he got injured, but brougt in other players who gave me points (f.e. I had Rooney who got suspended so loaned someone in his place), it also enabled me to get both Pelle and Bertrand in addition to already owned Clyne, when I saw that Southampton can gain points.

I did 2 loans, both 4 weeks and both for a 60 points hit, as the second is only from last week I can't comment on that one, but the first did help me a lot.

I'd say give it a try, have a look at some trends and preferably loan out non-active players or ones who don't play much, the way the game is set, every active player has value.

    Sanchez a doubt?

    was thinking of doing:

Silva + Pelle --> Sanchez + Ings (Punt)

    else I can do

Silva + Pelle --> Someone + Bony as well

There is absolutely no chance that Sanchez doesn't play imo

        agree.
Welbeck a bit injured, Walcott out, Giroud just coming back ---> a tired Sanchez will play

Save FT. We are all in same situation. No need to take hits or maybe Tadic to Oscar if possible?

As a Sakho owner, I am ok with him being out even though obviously I prefer that he plays. Looking at his fixtures when I bought him, I knew Everton away was a difficult fixture anyway where he could get a 2 pointer. Its the following 5 fixtures that will make me keep him. Barring injuries, terrible form and suspensions, I will probably keep him till Africa's cup of nations.

Plus I think Austin will be the biggest failed band wagon since Ulloa. QPR were inspired and had nothing to lose against Liverpool,Chelsea and City. Against the small teams, small teams like QPR don't necessarily perform as good.

I'm more worried about Carroll taking over his pitch time

If it happens it will probably be closer to the Xmas period IMO. Plus he is in great form, Carrol has been out for a while so won't get starts that quickly. I also feel Big Sam will make the most of his presencebefore he goes to the African Cup. Carrol will have many chances at that time.

I have Wisdom and Naylor who won't get points imo but I will be able to field 11 players I believe. Who would you have as first sub Naylor or Wisdom? Both get the odd assist, but Naylor more likely to get YC right?

Interesting thought on Austin - this season has been one long line of cheap striking options from Bojan through Naismith and Berahino to Ulloa, Sakho, Ayoze and Austin. Of those Berahino has proven his worth and Sakho too.

Austin might be poor, there is a sense that he has come into form though and adjusted to the PL.

The issue with a cheap striker is that if you make a mistake it's tough to rectify.

    a) Naylor + Costa

    b) Azpilicueta + Rooney

I get you. This is how I rank my yellows to start
        Tadic
        Fabregas
        Welbeck
        Baines
        Downing

I think the top 3 will start

Hi guys, i'd really appreciate your views on my line-up for this GW

    Bego
    Ivan Clyne Duff
    Sanchez Hazard Siggy Downing
    Kun Costa Downing

    Hamer Albrighton Moore Wisdom

Already taken a hit, 1,9 itb

Good to go? Bit worried about the bench, but not worth a hit, right?

This is me for this week:

    McGregor
    Baines -- Clyne -- Bardsley
Fabregas -- Alexis Sanchez -- Barkley -- Downing
    Aguero -- Pelle -- Welbeck

    Heaton -- Marney -- Kelly -- Naylor

Obviously a bit concerned with these doubts:

    Baines
    Bardsley
    Fabregas
    Downing
    Welbeck

    1 FT, £0 ITB.

Thinking of wildcarding next week anyway, so one week punts are an option.

    A) Do nothing, and hope everyone plays
    B) Swap Naylor for someone with a better fixture , in case my bench comes in to play
    C) Downing --> Moses
    D) Any other one week punts!?

    Help is much appreciated!
