Fernando Torres is an early doubt for Chelsea’s weekend trip to Stoke after reportedly suffering concussion whilst playing for Spain this evening.

The striker lined up for the Spanish against Italy in tonight’s friendly but lasted just 14 minutes before being forced off with a head injury.

Medical staff are expected to examine Torres before offering a further assessment. Already they are insisting that his withdrawal was purely a precaution.

However, if Torres has suffered concussion, he would seem likely to be forced to sit out of the trip to Britannia.

There are already doubts over Andre Villas-Boas’ team selection for Sunday’s game with Torres unable to take his opportunity to impress in the pre-season. Didier Drogba’s physical presence against Tony Pulis’ muscular outfit may well have been preferred regardless of the availability of the £50 million Spaniard.

Drogba was also in action tonight, scoring his 50th international goal via a penalty in Ivory Coast’s 4-3 victory against Israel in Geneva.

Torres is currently owned by over 88,000 Fantasy Premier League managers – Drogba currently claims almost double that figure.

      I'm set up for the first 3 only and I think I can justify the defence - my concern is not having an option to bring in Bent for GWs 2 and 3 if required because I've already got 3 Villa players.
      
      I could always go back to the option of having Lescott in there and someone like Barton/Taarabt instead of N'Zogbia - trading Silva for Zog GW2, but at the moment that's plan B.

      However, his place could occasionally come under threat from Olsoon (although i think Olsson is better played LM)

Anyone else considering going really cheap with their GKs?

I have been stuck on the Given - Kenny combo so far which gives me:

BOL BLA WOL NEW NEW AVL WIG BLA WBA sun NOR

for the first 11 gameweeks by which time I'll probably have WC'd and can get in the combo that I want long term.

However, I was looking at the Kenny - Moreira match:

BOL WIG SUN NEW WBA AVL STK BLA wol BOL

which obviously I'd get less CS from due to Swansea's defence being likely more porous than Villa's but I can use the extra million elsewhere and it could be handy in the time when I'll be scrabbling for the latest hot but pricey Mid/For.

What are the opinions on that?

    I guess the advantage with going Cech is that you'll know what you're going to get. Clean sheets + a couple of save points. Pretty much gets you 7 points most weeks. Then you could change to the two in form budget defences after the dust settles on the new season and you can tell who'll be solid at the back. Because right now it's all just speculation on whether Villa will be good defensively.

    I'm tempted to replace Kazami with moses of wigan. Think Kazami will be a good player for the season but too early to tell whereas Moses may fill the NZogbia viod and flourish.

  No Chelsea coverage at all will bite you. It did with me last year. I passed on Drogba & Malouda and they both went BANG BANG BANG in the first month. I was never going to come back from there.
