It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

Lubricate your hinges via this link, or bathe in WD40 via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone else having an extremely slow boring day at work?

This forum is just about keeping me sane. Well, that and walking around the office with no shoes on all day.

I just pretend I have a meeting with a client in a cafe downstairs. Bringing my laptop and just tinkering around.

      Productive fridays ftw

Wee I live in the Outback so no cafe downstairs. No bosses around today though so it's pretty cushy.

I did manage to finally file 3 piles of paperwork on my desk that have been building for the last 2 years. It had got to the stage where some of it was starting to fall off. I guess that counts as a days work!

    Kyle Bartley (Swa) £3.9m

    - looks a great short-term option
    - where does he play in defence?
    - any threat from Amat?
    - is he 1st choice replacement if/when Taylor and Williams get their 5th YC?

I am looking at Chalk replacement

I think Eriksen would do quite well and should be on penalties too

yes...AVL have many injuries at the back and Ings is coming into form...Liverpool are a shambles, Lambert scored against Ludogorets and the defending was literally non-existent for his goal...also Ings is nailed on

Could work out quite well. Honestly though I am swayed against Rooney because I think Falcao will be back and Roo will drop deeper again.

He does love playing Hull though.

Remember a few years back when he got all 4 against them in a 4-0. I had 35euro on him at 11/4. Thing was that the bookie did a special where for every other goal you got the same odds again, essentially I got 11/1 on him - 420euro back. I had about 20 bucks left to last me the week at that stage.

Put it this way, if QPR do not perform over the next couple of weeks they will go down. They will know this. This is a decent chance at a run of games which could put some life into them.

Now if I keep rationalising like this I may even have him in my own team 😛 Luckily I have a decision over Bony/Rooney and not him and someone else.

Have you seen Leic's fixtures? They look bad, they've been losing to teams at the bottom of the table. They are going to get relegated, can't afford to lose to relegation rivals.

I can sense an Ulloa scoring spree soon. I have been hanging onto him on my B-team because have had more pressing issues to fix.

SUN / qpr ? LIV looks like a fairly soft run of fixtures to be fair.

    (A) Pelle & Chadli ➡ Rooney & Brady

    (C) Pelle, Chadli & Bertrand ➡ Austin, Hazard & Hutton (-4)

    Begovic - Myhill

Morning DZ! What a feast of football we have over the next week!

Some very important press conferences today!

Best replacement for Chadli? Current midfield is: Oscar, Siggy, Downing and Di Maria. Concerned I need a budget option like Boyd to free cash up due to berahino concerns... Any thoughts greatly appreciated

So this is my WC Team:

    DDG -- Hamer
    Trippier -- Caulker -- Rangel -- Cissokho -- Wisdom
    Eriksen -- Hazard -- Chamberlain -- Brady -- Jedinak
    Aguero -- Bony -- Rooney

I have kept 3.3m in the bank because would upgrade Eriksen and Chamberlian in future when Wally/Sterling start performing..

I am still considering Mirallas over Chamberlian punt...and am Not sure if Brady -- Jedinak is a good 4th-5th mid combo..

    thoughts...Defense I know..won't change that 😛

haha..I thought This team is only for 2 months..after that maybe...Mignolet has been by far my worst pick..even worst than Riviere..plus with 1 playing keeper I don't have to go with the disappointment of having points on my bench 😉

5th mid needs to be a uber like Boyd. Saves on bench points.

Bony and Rooney need to be Costa and Austin imo.

Not liking the midfield one little bit. 4 of them need booting asap.

Defence: too many expensive players chosen ahead of cheaper options from the same team.

I am worried for you. 🙁

Trying to have a different team..take certain chances and see how it ends up..don't want to follow the same pattern every season..want to give some other patterns also a try..I have some other patterns on my mind as well for future, which are a bit different and many won't like it..but if this pays off..then good..else I have kept 3.3m for the upgrade...

Costa -- Austin seems template...Rooney is my pick..and Bony a differential with good fixtures..

Hazard is a decent pick and in future this will become Hazard--Wally--Sterling...

Defense is a risk I'm willing to take..Jan WC is always there

Thanks To Innsie's advice of Cissokho to Hutton...Now I have 0.3 more to spend on my mids.

    So..with Brady would you have

    1) Jedinak (current)

    2) Bolasie

    3) Brunt

    4) Some other mid till 5.4m tag

      4. Make it as cheap as possible ideally Boyd. You won't need this player, saves you bench points and allows you to buy in more expensive options.

Try to keep the big picture always in mind. Not sure why you want Brady.

Moin what I'd do with your team is swap Brady and Jedinak for Boyd and Downing, Boyd is nailed on and cheap as chips, and Downing looks to now be fit and has good fixtures and more attacking threat than the two mids you'll be rotating. Rotating attackers doesn't work as well as rotating defenders as attacking returns are a lot harder to predict than clean sheets amongst the smaller/cheaper players.

To fund this, downgrade DDG or get Yun for Caulker or Naylor for Rangel.
