We’re almost there. After three months, countless RMT’s (That’s Rate-My-Team for our new readers), a whole host of injury scares and the regular gamut of transfer talk, the season is now just hours away.

This means just one thing- it’s time for a host of the Fantasy Football Scout team to start off one last debate by sticking our necks on the line with predictions for the year to come. As evidenced by last year, our choices can range from the sublime to the ridiculous – let’s see how the cards fall for 2011/12…

I, Andy, kick things off by singling out teams and players I am not perhaps known for endorsing. Towing the party line, then, I’ve done everything I can to make my predictions as impartial as possible. Not believe me? Look- no Fernando Torres…

Your defense is a little weak to say the least. Get that tidied up, and watch your bench problem. Your front 8 is too balanced so you may have trouble benching someone every week.

RIght, with the Everton game called off, I have got rid of Baines just for GW1.

    Given (Kenny)
    Agger Kompany Lescott (Simpson Bramble)
    Hoolahan Silva Moses N’Zogbia (Sinclair)
    Drogba Holt Rooney (C)

I have two city defenders I know, but at Home to Swansea surely they’ll keep a cleanie? Admittedly I’ll be annoyed if they don’t but I am only doubling up for GW1, so GW2 a change from Lescott to Baines will happen.

What do you think about the rest of the team? Too much Norwich?????

I would go with Given just because I think he would produce most saves in that game as Fulham would make more chances than Wigan would.

I don't know why we're still so reliable on Laser, we seem to be the only country in Europe. Anyway this is your other option unless you know someone with a CC.

We are also able to accept payments via cheque and postal orders made payable to “Fantasy Football Scout Ltd”. Please be advised that turnaround on members signing up via this method can take at least 5 working days to process.

Payments for the £12.50 pre-season offer should be sent to the following address.

          17 Wilmar Close
          Uxbridge
          Middlesex

Laser was created by the top Irish banks, hence their reluctance to ditch it. I moved to Ulster bank specifically so I could get a VISA debit card.

Go to another bank. Ulster Bank have Visa debit cards. I would never use a Laser card ever again, they're worthless.

There's your prob then. Unfortunately, Laser is relatively useless outside of Ireland. Paypal accepts other Irish debit cards (VISA debit etc) no problem :-/

    Given (Ruddy)

A Cole, Hughes, Kompany (Orr, Simpson)

    Moses, Taarabt, Nani, Ramsey, N'Zogbia

    RVP, Rooney (Beattie)

Am I spending too much on those two forwards?

I think I'm fairly settled with this squad. I have room to switch high end players about which might need to happen with the unpredictability of who will get the big points.

    Given | Ruddy
    Bardsley | Kompany | Hughes | Taylor S | Gabbidon
    Nani | Silva | Sessegnon | Taarabt | Moses
    RVP | Zamora | Carrol

I can easily get Malouda in for Nani next week by downgrading Carrol to Suarez, I could also switch RVP and Rooney. If I need extra cash, I can downgrade Zamora to Halt or someone else around that price range. I think the defence is pretty solid with one or two players capable of scoring goals and plenty of clean sheets for most of them. Moses and Taarabt are gambles which could pay off but can easily be changed if I need to. This team is made so I hopefully wont need to wild card early this time, I want keep the wild card unused for at least the first 10 weeks and try not to take many hits.

    What do you think?

I like it. I personally don't see the advantage of Zamora over the 6.0 or 5.5 forwards, so would keep extra cash in the bank for future transfers there, but that's just me.
