We’re almost there. After three months, countless RMT’s (That’s Rate-My-Team for our new readers), a whole host of injury scares and the regular gamut of transfer talk, the season is now just hours away.

This means just one thing- it’s time for a host of the Fantasy Football Scout team to start off one last debate by sticking our necks on the line with predictions for the year to come. As evidenced by last year, our choices can range from the sublime to the ridiculous – let’s see how the cards fall for 2011/12…

I, Andy, kick things off by singling out teams and players I am not perhaps known for endorsing. Towing the party line, then, I’ve done everything I can to make my predictions as impartial as possible. Not believe me? Look- no Fernando Torres…

So there we have it, that’s how the Scouts see it; no need for any of this fantasy lark as we’re clearly going to be 100% correct. Remember this post at season’s end for all the good choices and forget it for those that end up down the garden path. Who are your choice picks for the 2011/12 season?

Hey Camzy (if you're still there)... which would you go for out of these 3?

    1) A Cole, De Laet, Taarabt & Holt (1.0m in the bank)

    2) Enrique, Alcaraz, N’Zog & Zamora (0.5m in the bank), or

    3) A Cole, De Laet, Sessegnon & DJ (1.0m in the bank)

Rest of the team is as before, i.e.

    Given, Ruddy
    Kompany, Simpson, Orr
    Nani, Silva, Sinclair, Moses
    RVP, Carroll.
    Bank 1.0m.

    Cheers

Not touching them for that very reason. I posted a while back saying how unpredictable their backline might be. For that reason as well, I'm going to stick with Ruddy over Vorm until further evidence of Swansea's preferred defensive lineup.

Any thoughts on having 2 4.0m QPR defenders in there? Gabbidon and Orr maybe?

            Think i'm set on:

            Given, Ruddy
            Cole, Kompany, Simpson, Orr, Gabiddon??
            Silva, Nani, Taarabt, Sinclair, Moses
            RVP, Carroll, Holt

Nayone mind given this bunch a once over to see if on the right track?

    Given
    Hughes, Kompany, Cole A
    Downing, Moses, Nani, Silva
    Drogba, Holt, Rodallega
    (Al-Habsi, Taarabt, Bramble, Jose Enrique)

    0.5 in the bank

Silly to have Wigan and Norwich strikers since they are playing each other, or a good move as both defences are weak?

Obviously Drogba could be a risk if Torres is fit. Potentially making it difficult to bring in the likes of Rooney, VP if required.

    Any thoughts would be welcome.

Ruddy has some very kind fixtures around the time of Given's hardest ones.

I currently think Begovic and Vorm though. Swansea solid defence at home and Bego is just as good as Given except the early fixtures.

He may score some goals. He won't be rotated until Toure comes back. And he's an easy extra 0.5 mil downgrade to Kompany at some point. Plus he's selected by fewer people right now so his value's more likely to go up if he does score a goal.

Sessgnon has 22 votes in Captains poll
    Taarabt has 141 votes

I'm going with Taarabt in my team - nto for captain but Capt Poll is a good way to choose between them as far as I can tell - wisdom of the crowd theory.

The value in given, is in defenses, not in CS. and defenders don't get defenses... foster last year, and hart the year before, scored huge because of the amoutn of defenses they made...and shay given is fpl proven value in that area...
