We’re almost there. After three months, countless RMT’s (That’s Rate-My-Team for our new readers), a whole host of injury scares and the regular gamut of transfer talk, the season is now just hours away.

This means just one thing- it’s time for a host of the Fantasy Football Scout team to start off one last debate by sticking our necks on the line with predictions for the year to come. As evidenced by last year, our choices can range from the sublime to the ridiculous – let’s see how the cards fall for 2011/12…

I, Andy, kick things off by singling out teams and players I am not perhaps known for endorsing. Towing the party line, then, I’ve done everything I can to make my predictions as impartial as possible. Not believe me? Look- no Fernando Torres…

So there we have it, that’s how the Scouts see it; no need for any of this fantasy lark as we’re clearly going to be 100% correct. Remember this post at season’s end for all the good choices and forget it for those that end up down the garden path. Who are your choice picks for the 2011/12 season?

    okay, rate my team (PLEASE?)

    Given (ruddy)
    Lescott, Kompany, Givet (Simpson, Gabbidon)
    Sessegnon, Downing, Malouda, Moses (sinclair)
    rooney(c), Carroll, Rodallega

just let me know if there are any injuries / uncertainties. for example i heard Rodallega had not played in pre season or something.
also, let me know if my benching and captain choices are bad or something.

I have 3.5 in the bank. 1.5 of that is to bring Baines in week two, 1.5 to allow a Malouda/Dzeko upgrade to Lamps/a 10mil striker if necessary, and 0.5 spare because Stephen Dobbie seems a better option for the early weeks than anyone at 5.5, then some 6.0s are coming in. If I could find money elsewhere for Sinclair I'd do it, but it doesn't look like happening.

To be fair half of it is just because of the Everton fixture cancellation.

Although I am now tempted to use the rest of the other spare money to upgrade Holt to Zamora and Dobbie to Hoolahan. It's just that then if I want to downgrade Zamora to Holt and upgrade Dzeko, I'm left with two Norwich players. I know I'm massively second guessing myself, but hey, I enjoy it =D

      In one word. Weak.

Hardly ever go for 2 same team defenders.

      Baines won't be playing.

Dunn, Injury prone as is Walcott.

      Uncertainty about CFC upfront.

Roddallega, however good is always hit and miss.
Nani very good. Duff Good. Robinson should be good for start of the season.

Agger - cleanies and massive goal threat.

I have £10 on a goal tommorrow and will be cheering in the Kop as it hits the back of the net, 40 yard screamer.

Looking at going against the grain a bit by going with a pretty even flowing defense.

    My back 5 are,

    Gabbidon,Hughes,Kompany,Brown,Enrique

    Thoughts & suggestions welcomed.

Also, do you think its worth starting Enrique this week? My thinking is, if he is ready he'll play, he wont be sitting on the bench and if he isnt ready then he'll just be auto swapped out for one of my other defenders anyways. Seems pretty risk free to me.

    I got 12.5 for 2 strikers.
Can i get some opinions on who to go for between:
A.Johnsen, Rodallega, Ba or Odemwingie. Other suggestions welcome too. Maybe Doyle if his not injured?

12.5 really isnt enough for two decent ones, your midfield must be uber strong. Get Zamora and one of Holt, Dj, or Graham

Ive got cole, silva, malouda, rooney taking up quiet a bit of my funds alright, but I think its best having 1 top striker and 2 cheap ones. Cant say I know a whole lot about the newly promoted strikers as I never watch the championship, who would be the stand out, might just go based on fixtures?

    Shwarzer (given)
    Alex, Kompany, Riise, (woodgate, simpson)
    Moses, N'zog, Silva, tarrabt, (barton)
    Rooney, Zamora, Carroll.

No chelsea cover after gw1 could hurt you. I have Malouda and Rooney instead of your RVP and Nani Think your defence might be a little over balanced as well, not sure if Roger Johnson is worth it.

thanks mate. Im planning on bringing chelsea coverage in when I know starters..Malouda will possibly come in for nani and RVP could change to Roon. gonna also bring Enrique in for Johnson and upgrade Hughes to Luiz when they start playing.

Last season he was 8.1. Always had a fantastic season opener. Chelsea defence, attacking, best left back? When you see he's on similar price terms as Terry and Ivanovic he's a bargain!
