After taking a look at those teams with Strong fixtures to follow over the next four-to-six Gameweeks, we now assess those with tougher upcoming schedules. North east pair Sunderland and Newcastle face some testing times, whilst bottom two Burnley and Leicester also have little reason for festive cheer.

Newcastle

“frisking

The Magpies proved their mettle by putting an end to Chelsea’s unbeaten run last Saturday, but must now navigate a horrendous next six if they are to further their cause. Alan Pardew’s men face a tricky encounter with Everton at St James’ Park, as well as three of the toughest away trips around as they make their way to Arsenal, United and Chelsea.

With injury and suspension hitting hard, the Magpies are likely to struggle to rediscover the defensive resilience shown between Gameweeks 8-12 anytime soon, meaning that Daryl Janmaat will need to rely on his attacking raids down the right to earn his owners further returns. Further forward, those eyeing up striker Papiss Cisse after his weekend brace are advised to hold off for now whilst his minutes, and the schedule, look uncertain.

Southampton

“frisking

The Saints are struggling under the strain of expectation after their early season form, and the load could yet increase across the Christmas period. A trip to Burnley is next on the agenda and will at least afford them some respite, but beyond that things still looks unmistakably bleak – Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal make their way to St Mary’s in their next three home encounters, with a visit to Old Trafford lying in wait beyond that.

Without a clean sheet in their last four, owners of Ryan Bertrand and Nathaniel Clyne will have been weighing up an exit route, and that strategy is unlikely to change bearing in mind their imminent schedule. Graziano Pelle, meanwhile, found his scoring boots for the first time in seven appearances against United on Monday, but that return to form could be quickly curtailed, and the Italian will still be hard-tasked to reclaim the plethora of owners he has lost over recent weeks.

Stoke

“frisking

Saturday’s triumphant win over Arsenal brought a three-match losing streak to a close for the Potters, and a trip to Crystal Palace this weekend will offer them a chance to build momentum. That is sure to come in handy, however, as the fixtures then take a severe turn for the worse for Mark Hughes’ side, who meet Chelsea and Everton in their next two and also face consecutive match-ups with United and Arsenal in Gameweeks 20 and 21.

It would be fair to say that Bojan has finally found his feet at the Brittania, and the former Barcelona starlet – alongside fellow striker Peter Crouch – turned in a great advertisement for their budget forward services against the Gunners. However, both are now sure to be tested against some of the league’s tightest defences in the coming weeks, whilst the chances of the Potters’ own rearguard managing their first shutout since Gameweek 6 looks doubtful. Jon Walters’ recent renaissance – with three goals in four – may struggle to continue over that spell.

Also Be Wary Of…

Arsenal
The Gunners may have underlined their potential in last night’s mauling of Galatasaray, but managers should be cautious before jumping on board without a look at their next five fixtures, which contain three tricky away encounters at Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton. Owners of the suspended Calum Chambers will be even more tempted by the idea of getting rid of the young defender as Mathieu Debuchy returns to action, whilst the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck will have to be at their best for the Gunners to prosper over the festive spell.

Burnley
A 2-0 loss to QPR will have come as a bitter blow to Sean Dyche’s men, who had finally strung together a series of results prior to Saturday’s bottom of the table scrap. A potentially spirit-wrecking next four now awaits the Clarets, who visit Spurs and Man City on either side of home clashes with Southampton and Liverpool. With Christmas rotation on the cards, owners of George Boyd may be forced to call upon his services across those fixtures, though he is likely to struggle to replicate his timely Gameweek 14 strike. Up top, Danny Ings has fetched returns in three of his last four outings but his worth as a budget asset looks set for a stiff test.

Leicester
The Foxes are without a win since Gameweek 5, and their chances of turning that dire form around look slim over the upcoming schedule. Nigel Pearson’s side face a trip to West Ham sandwiched in between two home meetings with Man City and Spurs in their next three, and whilst Leonardo Ulloa has showed glimpses of his early season with a goal and two assists in his last three, the striker – who is expected to recover from a calf knock – will have his work cut out to maintain that form in the lead up to Christmas.

    Good morning dz,

How was Dzeko last night, frustrating like usually?
Deciding between him and Sakho atm.

    Some options are

    a) Fab, Aguero => Haz, Sakho/Dzeko (and play Caulker + have spare cash for christmas) (-4)

    b) Fab, Aguero, Marney => Haz, Sakho, Yaya (-8) (can bench Caulker this week)

Dummett's points have all come in the last few weeks. Didn't play much earlier on. Look at ppg rather than points totals.

Dummett ain't as capable of a 15pt haul like Janmaat did gw11.

Plus looking just at ppg means you're not accounting for job security. janmaat ius guaranteed to start when fit, dummett is not.

I'll take any response, someone who went for said player would've done so because of a reason or two - I'm happy to hear 'em out and make my decision based on a collective of opinions.

Plus, if they've gone for that player in their own team then I'm sure that's who they think is the best player.

of course. but doesn't mean it's the best for your team dynamics. So maybe post the rest of your team and there would be more context.

Agu -> Bony (already have Fabianski, Naylor & Siggy)

So also Fabianski -> Hart -4, if i dont make this move i cant bring in Bony and dont have a playin keeper this GW.

    Other idea is

    Chambers, Agu -> Zaba, Roonpig

    Team now

    Naylor/Baines/Azpi
    Hazard/Sanchez/Downing/Siggy
    Costa

Inj, Sus: flappyhandski, austin, agu, chambers

Arsenal's potential opponents in the round of 16.
Atletico, Real Madrid, Monaco, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Porto.

Could this be the year when lady luck finally shines on us? Porto or Monaco will be awesome, but I'll even take Atletico.

You do realize that Atletico is probably the hardest draw for Arsenal (or most other teams) right? Those lads don't concede and will literally start a brawl on the pitch if it helps them win. Absolute beasts on the pitch

Yes, but we would atleast go into the match with hope that we can win, the most important thing.
Atleast the stigma of facing Bayern/Barcelona (again) will not be there.

I think anyone but Monaco or Porto and its lights out for Arsenal. Not saying that in jest, because I would actually like seeing arsenal do well for once in the CL (as a liverpool fan), but I can't see them beating any of those sides. Arsene Wenger is simply too naive tactically (pushing his fullbacks high in tough away games rather than being more pragmatic), and never fixes that DM problem

Totally agree. Bought him anyways. His top10k ownership is going to be around 80% this GW and there's no way I was going to risk not owning him with that ownership and the mighty Hull City Tigers in town.

Agreed, over priced, not scoring, 3 out of the next 5 away so likely to pick up 3 yellows. Ownership in the top 10k has nothing to do with it. Easy chance to get ahead with those who continue with him

It's surprising to see very less mentioning of Benteke.
West Brom (A),Man Utd (H), Swansea (A),Sunderland (H),Crystal Palace (H) & Leicester (A) in next 6 couldn't have come in better period other than the Festival. He's fresh & will be hungry to score.
History suggests he can score against anyone though and does it in bulks. Easily another Captaincy option in absence of Aguerro.
Much have been talked about Villa's lack of attacking threat but Stats can be deceiving sometimes coz Benteke has little to do with those Stats. He's their focal points of attack. Fixtures & form both on his side, Benteke is the man to light up Christmas.

nah, he was pretty active, but only in the attacking 3rd. Its not his effort or running thats an issue, as he made many of his usual good runs... it was his touch and control that let him down. Where he would have smashed in goals for fun 6 weeks ago he now waits that half second too long to see the chance get snuffed out, or just misdirects a pass. He made a few really powerful runs with the ball into the box though, just couldn't get that final touch.. im sure it'll come though, and when it does it could be dangerous for his non-owners

Not many will buy him ahead of either MUN or swa you'd think, so his ownership should be fine until then.. and it buys us some more time to observe his fitness and form. I'll want someone like him who's nailed on 100% for the 3 xmas-NY fixtures though

I don't think he's a bad pick per se, but at 6m+ I'd really want someone who's 100% nailed on. With a bunch of easy fixtures around christmas its very likely that Sagna (or even clichy) will be given a game at RB, so I'm going to avoid. Shame that the City defenders are so hard to choose.

    Adrian,
    Azpilicueta, Hutton, Dummett,
Sanchez (vc), Hazard (c), Sigurdsson, Eriksen, Boyd,
    Lukaku, Rooney.

A bench of only Yun on it.

Cheers, just think Arsenal can run riot in the absence of both Taylor and Coloccini. Also the third keeper is playing.

wba MAN swa in the next 3 are not easy at all.. add a potential suspension to it and surely Hutton should be lower down on the watchlist?

he's probably on there for scoring 8 points 2 weeks running, and for the fact that he has SUN CPL lei around christmas too.. that's a main reason why i got him atleast, not for him to play every single GW

Worth doing Chambers to Zabaleta for -4 or should I just play Hutton away to WBA and avoid taking a hit for a defender?

Is it a flaw of FF that Hazard can have a similar output (PPG) to Costa, consdering Costa has scored so many more goals?

I know you can say it isn't all about goals, but Haz is pretty much there for his end product, as is Costa.

Not sure what to say. Besides scoring goals Hazard has been very instrumental for Chelsea throughout the season. To answer your question it's probably due to him being a Bap magnet.

Hazard has 13 baps, Costa 9, so hardly a big difference...

        2 assists vs 0
        5 goals vs 11

Those 5 goals count as 6.2 goals scored by a forward though, and Costa did miss a couple of games as well which factors as well

I actually think it shows it working pretty well. Hazard more involved all round and an assist or 2 thrown in as well.

Are Panti owners really expecting a clean sheet out of him this week against West Ham? Can't see it myself.
