Haha, this was the first time I did it, and I only did it since for some reason every single time I post a longer analytical post it tends to get bottomed which is annoying as I spend a few mins putting them together. 99% of the time I don't give a crap where my posts end up though 🙂

Great move man! The man's an animal & Montero's on some great form, delivering great balls.

Even if the Swans don't score too many goals, Bony always gets a big portion in the critter's cake. Keep in mind Bony has been punishing you more then Costa, perhaps it'll be DC's time to go soon if RvP's form keeps up.

🙂 Christmassy stuff eh? Buying already for the family? Or for yourself 😉 ?

Getting off work a few hours ago & dealing with some exams soon 😯 Plus a little bit of play

he averages maybe 160pts/season. you can also easily get a 4.5 keeper who will get between 140-160 pts. depends on value really

Oh i was meaning long term, not specifically to january WC. For now i would go with Hart yes (in fact i have him). After that Maybe a combo of panti/krul as they rotate home/away perfectly, both cheap, and both play for teams that keep CSs at home. i haven't looked at their home fixtures yet though... i prefer 2x cheapies personally.

If you want to rotate then Panti-Fabianski is the best option imo.

I'm really tired of rotating though as i had bego-krul and fab-eliot and left 3-4 cs's on the bench up to now.

you never know who will get a CS, so i'm gonna go with the 1 main man from now on i think

i went 1 keeper this season (myhill) as i also used to hate having the keeper points on the bench, but i regret it a lot. Bego and stoke had totally lost form and i had noone to bench him for which was annoying. at least with 2 playing keepers one of the sides may hit a run of form so you play them each week. Begovic burnt me badly this season.

the thing is that all his good home fixtures are bunched up from now onwards in the 2nd half of the season, so he should get more of his points this season in the next 10-15 games

yeah they do look good. sunderlands home games also very tempting, i think a rotation with Krul could work nicely.

This is a very good post btw.

i prefer cheap keepers that play for teams that are strong at home and defences that encourage long range shots/keepers accumulate easy saves. there always seems to be a cheap alternative each season that does well though

Good spot on home city fixtures. Obviously means some tricky away games but it also clearly shows city are far from out of the title race.

Mangala might be a nice little punt or if you have a good enough backline then clichy not bad as he seldom comes on if he doesn't start and he is cheap enough to rotate for home games.

If you're thinking about GK transfer for hits, or FT's, they really aren't all that necessary
          Especially for GW's like these.

I've had Forster and Jaku had DeGea till Gw 5 then switched to Forster and haven't looked back. Time to change it up. Maybe Hart/Panti?

Indeed, but this is not the case it seems Rick 😉
I went Panti for a hit w/ no playing GK

Hits for keepers are generally a no-go though, trannies also now with other priorities in most people's teams .

GK's have low ceilings compared to a possible front 8 transfer, I'd steer clear of putting too much emphasis on my GK's 😉

                • 11 Years

with no playing GK (eg Fab) the hit is only worth a -4, and i'm sure hart will pay that off for a lot of people (in fact he already has)

                  • 11 Years
                  11 years, 1 month ago

I'm sure he will, but the fact of the matter is, he has no injury concerns & has a playing GK for this w/e. There's no reason to prioritize a GK move now.

Panti has already payed my hit off this week, & I'm aware even Heaton could pay off the hit.

Why would you be recommending hits for keeper when they are already have a playing one? Your argument is not valid here, since Forster is indeed deemed fit. There's no advantage to be had here with Hart's favorable fixtures, Foster is playing. It;s that simple.

                  I'd recommend him to

Anyone advice will be greatly appreciated !
    Heaton (Fab)
Bertrand Azpi Dummett ( yun hutton )
Hazard Sanchez YaYa Siggy ( boyd)
    Costa Sakho Cisse

Thinking of FT Bertrand to Clichy
And thinking YaYa and cisse for Eriksen and Bony
    For -8
    Any thoughts
I just brought Yaya in last week but this weekends game made me sick how lazy he played !!!
Should I keep him for the next few week or sack him now ??

Well at least somebody will read this. the reply would've fallen on deaf ears.

To be honest I was very active on this site in my first year, and while I am sure I have improved a lot since then, there are some truths which will be diluted in our minds by reading some of the mistruths that become legend on this site.

Things like fear of doubling up, fear of selling highly owned players, distorted memories due to memorable gameweeks, captain fails or that week you didn't own Costa doe a hatteick etc etc. Experience does take away some ability to play this game with a fresh and open mind.

I bought Costa out of fear haha. The stats were there though, so its not like I bought him for ownership alone however.

NBNC Baines is bollocks too. He's a defender just like any other one, and away to City or Chelsea is fine to bench him, as I did last GW.

      PIECE OF STATS :

      > Points Earned Per minuted played :

      This season : Nasri = 0.041 Silva = 0.052
      Last Season : Nasri = 0.062 Silva = 0.0698

For every 90 minutes played Silva generally earns about 0.85 points more than Nasri.

Conclusion : Not worth taking it for an extra 0.6m

Feeling a little unloved. 🙁 I posted a long piece last week pulling apart RVP stats using some publicly available info, received a couple of +1s and had it butchered (I presume by a mod). Rickardinho takes a shot at RVP's stats this week, receives +14 and has all those lovely stats left intact so far.

The ironic bit is my thoughts on RVP have swung away from Rickardinho's view this week (and my view last week). 😛

I never saw it. It might have been reported though so that would have been the issue. Tables over stats on here are always better. They are a few others who are borderline with the stats they post.

Posted this earlier today but wanted to repost in the Deadzone in case any of you are on here.

Pardon the long post. This update is months late but with the CL draw today, it might still be helpful. Apologies for letting it slide as some of you put some thought into these picks.

Before the Champions League began, I asked people to make predictions and pick the teams they felt would advance the furthest in the tournament. A win would get you the points value of your team's chosen ranking (from 32 for the best to 1 for the Ludo-est) and a draw would get you the average of the two teams' rankings.

Here are the results after Group Stages have finished.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wdBCsUAU2Gq1T7WnCdF9epGh2aJWaFdrklhSjrMcxWo/edit?usp=sharing

König Luther is winning at 1949, but we are all remarkably close. Points are awarded
    2x Knockout round of 16
    4x Quarterfinals
    6x Semifinals
    8x Champion
So there is much still to play for. Monaco, Basel, and Dortmund have the greatest amount of deviations from the mean (indicated in green or red). In addition, some people have two powerhouse choices drawn against each other, much like the actual game, but TorresLove for example has top 8 choices in 7 of the remaining fixtures, a huge advantage.

Will repost in the Deadzone where it originally was hatched, but some of you in the day zone also participated. Cheers and apologies again for letting it go for the past few months.

Thanks for the update! Looks like I'm doing quite well, which is somewhat surprising. How do some end up with scores ending in .5? I thought points are awarded according to the weight given to the advancing teams, hence no decimals.

Nice work so far. As for the half points, if two teams draw then the player receives the average of their points. So a 10 vs a 13 draw is an 11.5 for the player.
