Will Mirallas' injury depend on whether you keep Baines or not?

If he's out for a while, which is likely, I'll stick with him.

I'll stick for now, Mirallas out will improve his output tenfold
Plus, have other priorities to straighten out & this is not a good GW for risky transfers imo

Westbrom defence has been fantastic away from home this season. Pool defence has been good at Anfield as well. Really can't decide between Sanchez & Austin for the armband. Who is the better pick do you all think? Reasoning would be much appreciated.

Pool defence is brutal, home and away, unfortunately. Marginally less brutal at home.

3 goals conceded at home in last 5... 2 were chelsea, and 1 was a penalty for a foul outside the box. Underlying stats are solid too.

As a Liverpool supporter of more than 37 years believe me when I say the defence is brutal. He needs a settled back 4 of 4 dogs who are organised, don't rely on offside trap, don't go near the halfway line unless they have cover in their spot and at set pieces can dabble in the dark arts while balancing watching man and ball.

Fantasy Football is about stats. Football is not. When you see a full back who cannot stand on his opponents side to show him his weaker option or a centre back who thinks he should mark a winger then you know what a poor defence is. Stats will never tell you this. Rogers still prefers defenders to play football rather than defend. His successor will not make the same mistake.

Well I do think the team tightened up a bit at the back with Lucas in the team recently. Hard to tell if its due to fixtures or Lucas though.

I don't think offside trap or high-line is a problem, its just that the back 4 seem to be singing from a different hymn sheet.

Not an easy choice but Austin imo.
      1. Austin is the center of attack for QPR. Arsenal has Giroud, Cazorla.etc. Of course, this improves his assist potential but I would want my captain to be a better goal threat.
      2. QPR plays at home.
      3. There is massive pressure on BR to improve Liverpool.

That being said, I am going for Yaya(c), Austin(vc).

Right now i'm on austin c, toure vc...

qpr home games are CHAOS. every long ball to zamora causes havoc, and austin is sniffing around every one of the knock-downs, and has pens. Set pieces are also goalscoring chances with caulker and zamora knocking about for austin to feed off.

@TorresMagic, I noticed your discussion with Diva about posting stats, and I figure I'm one of the ones on your radar potentially posting too many stats that might be deemed "members only"...

I try to keep my posts as oriented around publicly-available stats as possible, for the most part focusing on fixtures, recent FPL scores, or generic stats like goals scored and conceded rather than anything that might be difficult to find elsewhere on the internet. Sometimes I think more detail is useful to start a good discussion, but I usually pull in info from other sources like whoscored, statto, or transfermarkt (among others) that has the same info as the members area in many cases (eg. shots per game, key passes, assists, etc).

Do let me know if I've transgressed any T&C's in any of my posts though, or if there's anything you'd like me to do differently going forwards 🙂

Most people just report breaches. Obviously I can't say where you get your stats from but if they were linked in a way by a table or compared Costa's last 4 GWs to whatever over actual stats then they get away from stuff that members pay for. I don't use the stats enough to know what's in there so can't really report any myself unless it's a copy/paste job. Obvious Diva had too much content that looked members area based.

The City defense is a minefield right now for me, I'd give it one more week to see how things play out for them. When is doubt, save. Especially for probable low-scoring affairs like this GW. Many away fixtures, has low averages written all over it based on the template.

Stay safe mate, you'll be better with two trannie next week.
Perhaps a more obvious City contender may arise after the debris is cleared 😉

Morning. Posted similar to this yesterday and got loads of god responses, have edited the options in light of this-

    Little advice needed

    Foster/Elliot
    Clyne/Zaba/ Hutton/Ntaylor/ Yun
    Fabregs/Hazard/Siggy/Downing/ Sanchez
    Costa/Bony/Austin

    1M itb, 1 ft

    - I have been meaning to get rid of Fab for weeks as i felt i was too involved wit Chelsea but other matters arose.
    - I have no Man U and No city attack
    - I have too much Swansea involvement
-Frustratingly 0.2 short of Siggy to Eriksen

    1. Leave it
    2. Fab to Di Mari if fit (prob next week)?
    3. Fab to Silva
    4. Fab to Yaya (would need to downgrade Clyne too -4)
    5. Anything else?

My main priority is mini league (cash and bragging rights!) currently have a healthy lead so dont need to do anything drastic.
Going off the Yaya option and may have to roll without him

    Thanks for any thoughts

GW 17 & 20 are the only playable GW's for Dummet, ideally (til the Jan WC)
In between those GW's & Gw21, I would not be playing Toon defense IMO

Naylor has weeks 17,18 playable with likely CS's. 20 & 21 are up to interpretation (personal)
as Swans are playing against Austin's home record & Downing's away record respectively.

Based on that alone, Naylor has more mileage & more longevity/value in your team

      Resounding A for me here.

    Foster/(Gilks)
    Baines/Dummett/Rangel/(Cameron)/(Hutton)
    Hazard/Sanchez/Siggy/Downing/(Marney)
    Costa/Lukaku/Bony

    A) Lukaku ---> Anyone (Except RVP)

keep lukaku. he's as nailed-on as anyone for the christmas fixtures and has a knack for scoring against good teams too so fixtures aren't a problem. No one really stands out as a worthy replacement either, except perhaps kane or austin.

Why bench Dummet? He has (SUN) this week, solid game to play.
D, save the FT. You have a good midfield, & a nice front three.

Defense if the only real worry for me here. Though your defense is very much playable this week, so stay put & keep a wandering eye over any good defenders that suit your fancy after the games are played

You're gonna be thankful for those 2 FT's after this w/e,

that's the reason why Kane is better pick than Bony..2 slightly better fixtures , even though followed by 2 tougher one , but if you plan to get rid of Kane by then same goes to Bony who is even so due to 100% not playing..if any chance Kane does well you can even for one of those 2 tough games you can even keep him longer..

He was on nearly 24/7 and had a habit of getting on the nerves of many other posters (I never had an issue with him, miss him on here actually)

Many similarities to Rickardinho, except that Rickardinho doesn't get on anyone's nerve much.

Morning DZ, thoughts on this lot?

    A) Dzeko -> Austin/Bony (benching Siggy)
    B) Siggy -> Silva
    C) Chambers -> Zaba (benching Wisdom)
    D) Save

    C) is the best in the RMT tool

    Hart
    Terry, Yun, Wisdom
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Downing, Siggy
    Costa, Kane

    Elliot, Chambers, Hutton, Dzeko

        Even given the light defence?

Would have to start Wisdom and bench Siggy this week, and then start one of Downing (che) or Austin (ars) next week if going with A. I'm not sure the rotation I have favours Austin (even though he does have the platform to do well)

Could Debuchy be an option too? Although I'm biased, I'm one of those people still not sold on City defenders... Anyway A) isn't pressing if it means benching Siggy.

He's on my shopping list for the Jan WC but I think fixtures are a bit too stiff right now plus I don't trust our defence without Kos in it.

You're the first person to not say A, which is similar to my thinking. Siggy against a depleted out of form Hull could burn those who bench.

I'm thinking C (for those City fixtures) and then Dzeko -> Bony/Giroud/Lukaku/Benteke next week.

        Decent plan?

        1. A La Pelle

That sounds like a great plan.

I will probably end up waiting for Debuchy until Jan as well actually. And you're right City's next 4 looks irresistible haha. Good luck.

just looking at the list of oscar nominations from 2014....

american hustle was abit lame overall
            captain phillips decent
dallas buyers club - mathew mc. was very very good. jared leto was also great.
gravity - boring, predictable, but cool graphics
philomena - really great plot, moving.
12 years a slave - definitely the best one, very good.
wolf of wallstreet - very entertaining
            her - haven't seen

nebraska - haven't seen... any good?

prisoners is also really good, well made thriller.

Tough one. I'm going to say the top 3 due to Newcastle's injuries at the moment.

If you have Baines you don't generally bench him when he has his mojo (though whether he has that or not is open to debate right now). Dummett has colleagues injured and is about to play in a passionate Tyne-Wear derby.

Oh for sure, if I'm paying that much for my defense I'd be inclined to reap all the value I've invested
