Had Eriksen since GW1 through highs and lows. At the moment he still a differential but I expect a few to still bring him in before Burnley. Levy must be rubbing his hands at his selling price.

Who would want to buy him though?

The era of the luxury No.10 is coming to an end, as more and more teams defend from the front and can't afford passengers like Coutinho, Eriksen, Ozil, Mata, etc in their teams, except the very best (i.e. Silva), but teams with that luxury get found out in Europe as Arsenal and City have found out time and time again.

Please don't misinterpret the word "passenger". They are obviously very talented in their own right but are very soft defensively.

He might be the one scoring key goals, but he's not a Pochetino midfielder.

Help DZ!! This squad lost me 10k overall places this week 🙠(even though I captained Haz)

    Guzan
    Hutton, Baines, Chambers, Yun, CLYNE
    SIGGY, Sanchez, Hazard, Yaya, Boyd
    Austin, Sakho, ROONEY

    Really stumped here...

    What is the priority?

    a) Upgrade the attack - Rooney out (thinking Giroud)
    b) Siggy -> Downing
    c) Clyne -> Azpi/Zab/Demi
    d) Any two for -4

    Thanks. 😀

Eriksen better in the hole. Drop Lamela and play Dembele. Dembele great technique very strong lad but should be further fwd not as a holding player.

That's a point. I think I'm going to go through with Sakho -> Giroud. Sakho's rotation threat is a factor. Do you think Giroud is always nailed when fit?

Giroud looks fairly nailed for the next few but I expect one of Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud to be rotated especially with Walcott returning.

Yeah, and it directly led to their 1st goal. Everyone was laying blame on Coutinho for not tracking Rooney, but Gerrard was just as much at fault for being a complete numpty in DM and not being anywhere near where he should be. If Lucas was playing he would've recognised that danger.

Predictions for the Tyne-Wear derby this weekend?

Am contemplating benching Baines (away at SOU) for Dummett.

Yes, yes, NBNC, I know. But last few GWs have not been the greatest for Leighton. Maybe waiting on the results of Mirallas' scan might be prudent....?

I benched him at City, and was rewarded with Hutton's 8 pointer.

NBNC is bollocks, and is true for any player other than Aguero and a handful of other strikers. I've benched Fabregas, Siggy x3, Downing x2, Oscar, Baines, and Tadic this season, and every single one of those were blanks.

        Well, you're clearly a genius!

I have no such ability - in fact, early in the season I swapped Begovic and Guzan for quite a few GWs to face the weaker side and each time the benched 'keeper kept a clean sheet!

        1. rickardinho
          • 11 Years
          11 years, 1 month ago

I think I managed to score less points by rotating Begovic and Krul than if I had just played Begovic (which says alot), so my magic touch clearly doesn't extend to the GK's as much. Also did last minute lineup changes from Hutton to Caulker and Wisdom to Hutton in the last 3 gw's to miss out on another 15 points... My tinkering works for the big guns, less so for the pawns.

    Serious captaincy dilemma:

    A) Sanchez (LIV A)
    B) Hazard (STK - A)
    C) Toure (CRY - H)
    D) Downing (LEI - H)
    E) Austin (WBA - H)
    F) Bony (HUL - A) - Currently on him
    G) Sakho (LEI - H)

    Thoughts?!

Swansea away stats are pretty dismal reading, Wouldn't bother with Bony (fellow owner)

Totally agree about SWA away - have benched Siggy.

        Ok, new question:

        Sakho or Toure for captain?

No chance you're a Liverpool fan, is there? Seems like the kind of decision our glorious leader might make at the moment.

If Baines is NBNC, Balotelli is NPNP: never pick, never play

    Guzan
    Terry | Clyne | Bertrand
    Yaya | Sanchez | Hazard | Fabregas | Sigurdsson
    Bony | Austin

    Worth swapping any of:

    Clyne/Bertrand @ Everton (H) / Sigurdsson @ Hull (A)

    For:

    Yun @ West Brom (H) / Chester @ Swansea (H) / Ings @ Spurs (A)

What do you prefer to play?

    A. Baines + Bertrand and save 1FT
    B. Zabaleta + Bertrand
    C. Zabaleta + Demichellis (-4)

    DDG
    Terry, Dummet, Naylor (Duff, Moore)
    Fabs, Downing, Sterling, Mirallas (Boyd)
    Lukaku, Costa, Kane

    7.3 ITB, 1FT

What to do? Is Mirallas out for certain? If he is, would Erikson be a good punt til January? Any other suggestions? My DEF is poor, going to wait for next week to ditch dummet (eternally stuck with Moore and Duff it seems) and I have no City players.

If Mirallas recovers, good to save my FT for the first time this season?

Yeah you're on the right lines I reckon, Mirallas to eriksen is as good as any move. Obviously wait for any news on kev first though
