Granville and I get cosy on a two-seater sofa – within touching distance – just how he likes it.

In truth, my-host is getting too close for comfort: the mini-league gap is down to just 42 points, with Granville relentlessly chiping away at my previously unassailable lead.

We review Gameweek 16’s events, including my oh-so bitter Dzeko pill, before discussing De Gea’s uncanny form, the demise of Leighton Baines and my latest set-to with Jonty: are there better options than Diego Costa up top?

The regulars wrap themselves around that lot, while Granville, thankfully, keeps his hands to himself.

Snuggle up to the noise via this link or get up close and personal via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Too early to know which City option is best but Silva is the best player of that lot so if you have to choose now...

Any reason not to bring in Austin and Silva tonight?

Already lost £0.1m by delaying 🙁

    Silva over Nasri/Milner/Lampard...?

Silva has to be on tip top form to produce proper points
      What kind of form?
      Tip. Top.

      Not OOP

Man.c don't you agree that the whole team is going to be out if kilter and play a dodgy game? Yes ya ya is probably the best pick for (c) if you're dead set on a man.c player but surely one knows there are safer bets such as Austin / Sanchez / Haz right now? I just think the ticker and run of games is misleading - they are not the same team they were a couple of weeks ago. SANCHEZ for me.

Pick 1 to play: (Not taking hits to get rid of for now...)
    A) Bertrand EVE (H) - Southampton has lost mojo
    B) Dummet SUN (H) - Newcastle in heavy goalkeeper trouble
    C) Jedinak MCI (A) - Good luck against City
    D) Cattermole NEW (A) - Simply always on bench, never score more than 2 pts

    Southampton team news:

Florin Gardoș, Morgan Schneiderlin, Victor Wanyama, Jack Cork, Sam Gallagher, Dušan Tadić & Jake Hesketh have all been confirmed out for Southampton's clash with Everton at St Mary's, whilst Graziano Pellé & Steven Davis are both doubts, Ronald Koeman confirmed in his press conference earlier today.

The lack of numbers could see Harrison Reed & Lloyd Isgrove make their first leagues starts for the Saints this weekend, whilst youngsters Jason McCarthy, Sam McQueen, Dominic Gape, Jake Flannigan & Ryan Seager are among those in contention of making the squad for Saturday's game.

In another setback for the South Coast side, Koeman conceded that Jay Rodriguez won't return from a ruptured ACL for another 6 weeks at least, saying "He had to make a step back in his recovery. We give him the time to come back, but it’s a pity as he’s a great player."

With options low, Koeman also confirmed Gastón Ramírez cannot be recalled from his loan at Hull.

Likely side vs Everton should Davis and Pellé be passed fit: http://i.imgur.com/UcXMTBt.png

Although should Steven Davis be ruled out, Lloyd Isgrove is likely to take Ward-Prowse's place on the right, with Ward-Prowse joining Harrison Reed in central midfield. Graziano Pellé's absence may give Emmanuel Mayuka his first start of the season, with the Zambian coming off the bench for Koeman in 4 of the Saint's last 5 league games.

Good point, we may see Alderweireld move in there to accommodate Yoshida at centre-back, although Koeman seems adamant Reed will play, maybe alongside Reed with Davis out.

    Clichy v Kolarov

    Most games, clichy
    Most starts, cluchy
    Most points per game, clichy
    Most points per start, clichy
    Most points, clichy
Best FPL form of any defender, clichy
    Cheaper price, clichy

Think I might use a FT to buy in Kolarov this week on the 50-50 chance he plays.
Yes it may be a big IF, but if he does play, there is then a hope he does well
And OK, even if he does, chances are he gets benched soon after and then I have to use a second FT to get rid of him again.
I might even captain him this week despite the big risk he comes ON as a sub and scores 1 cameo point.
I certainly cant think of a better way to use 2 free transfers than Kolarov as a 1 week punt

Nice to see, one of my few good moves was to get Clichy 2 weeks ago, 8 points both weeeks and other defenders crap.

      Lovely reasoning. 😆

Everything points at choosing Clichy. Hence, I see no better use of 2 FT than a one week punt on Lolarov! 😆
