Granville and I get cosy on a two-seater sofa – within touching distance – just how he likes it.

In truth, my-host is getting too close for comfort: the mini-league gap is down to just 42 points, with Granville relentlessly chiping away at my previously unassailable lead.

We review Gameweek 16’s events, including my oh-so bitter Dzeko pill, before discussing De Gea’s uncanny form, the demise of Leighton Baines and my latest set-to with Jonty: are there better options than Diego Costa up top?

The regulars wrap themselves around that lot, while Granville, thankfully, keeps his hands to himself.

Snuggle up to the noise via this link or get up close and personal via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        What's wrong with the fixtures?

Chelsea will have to keep it tight to win them a la arsenal and spurs at home as well as sunderland away and 6 goals conceded in the last 11 games shows they know they need to be keeping it tight.

thinking of rooney, rojo, yaya --> rvp, mangala, and mata (-8 hit)
    or
rooney, yaya, clichy (rotation risk) --> rvp, eriksen, mangala

Captain Sensible has only complicated my thought process! Who to captain?

    A) Austin

    C) Costa

I can't stress enough what a late minute winning goal away @Swansea (in a game they probably didn't deserve to win) does to a team's confidence. All of the sudden everyone starts believing again, the owners, the managers, the fans, but more importantly the players (esp the defenders)!

I def think the psychological effect can't be underestimated!

I mean, if Spurs continue to fly that looks great, but what if they lay an egg against Burnley? I think it's too early to say that the winner in Wales was the turning point.

Never bring in a player in the week he returns from injury though, at least wait for him to play a bit beforehand, especially if it is for a hit.

yea always good to be cautious.
I just dont think it was that bad of an injury, I think LVG played it safe in the event of re aggravating it (kinda of like Kompany/Dzeko, who prob came back a bit early)
I'll probably bring in Silva this week and ADM next.

Yeah true. Since I've got a decent rank I'm totally against taking hits, although I took one last week and it paid off numerically with a City CS but Komps got injured.

What so Silva -> ADM next week? That seems like a bit of a waste of two transfers imo, just do one or the other.

The thing is you never really know how your body will react until you get into game time situations. Impossible to duplicate in training.

I'm keeping Silva and probably bringing in ADM for Downing if all goes well of course.

When did I say that? (Assuming you are talking about Swansea).

It's just Siggy is still good value but he is very inconsistent and his away returns are terrible. With leftover funds from Aguero, why not use it on another premium midfielder? (Already gone heavy hitting in defence).

They lost two back to back games after amazing run. They should have Krull back for GW 18.

My point is, is that Newcastle at home is a good fixture regardless of their form and injuries. They will have lost all confidence after two heavy losses and they do seem to be an up and down team. He could be back, but if not my point above still stands.

Can't deny it is a juicy fixture.

    Baines Yun Dummett
    Hazard Downing Sigurdsson Sánchez
    Austin Costa Bony

Subs: Given / Taylor, Wisdom, Boyd

Yep. He's bound to get the monkey off his back, in brilliant form, on pens, Stoke hardly ever keep a clean sheet. In recent away matches he has been unlucky (hit the post against Newcastle and also should have had a few assists, and messi (GJ) blocked three of his close range shots at Anfield).

I was looking at last season GW18-20, he only played one full game over that 3 fixtures…

I guessed it’s another good news for Baines owners LOL!

Good point Mark and Granville bring up about Kolarov and Palace.

I'd be surprised to see him start too seeing as Palace are ridiculously reliant on their wingers going forward.

Altho you can also say with Kolorov he can push the wingers back as they have to track back. Which is what big teams tend to do

That's true yeah but it's not like Clichy isn't that attacking either, just feel he'd be better suited for the game. All depends about what Pele thinks though of course.

    Hi lads,
    current team:

    DDG Gilks
    Baines Hutton Wisdom Duff Bartley
    Siggy Sanchez Hazard Yaya Marney
    Rooney Kane Bony

Have got 2 FT's with 2.3 in the bank. Toyed with the idea of using both for Siggy out for either Sterling or Eriksen and Duff out for O'Shea. But I think I'm going to just do Duff out for Demi and roll over a FT again. Sound about the best bet?

    Any thoughts highly appreciated.

Hi all. My defense is looking weak with Baines/Hutton/Bertand/Wisdom/Chambers

United have a nice run of fixtures, so thinking Bertand to Jones or Evans. (Already have 3 City, one of which is Hart.)

Some have DDG but I've seen zero comments on bringing in a United defender, bad idea?

May be a good idea but Generally I think Utd are a side it is more reliable to choose attacking players rather than defenders
